what can you expect from a game based on the fictional story of ancient iranians? If you have a barbarian game.. it will attract barbarians of course.

I find it ironic that the fool OP is complaining about "sexual harrassment" is using statements like "human trash". Im not surprised since he has been trained that because he is gay he has the right to bash "straight" men without being called out for what he is: a bigot. POS like himself look for everyone oppertunity to renforce their hatred. 

Lastly the statement about women graduating from college at a higher rate. It's been happening for quite a few years now and the gap is only getting wider.  Lets see, a concentrated effort as a whole over 30 years to help women specificly to catch up and now surpase men and you want to imply you are somehow better because of your sex? Can't remember the comedian, but he said something that is fitting: Women like to make statements that we all know are false, but as men we just agree, for instance. "Woman are smarter then Men". We all know its about the dumbest statement ever but we agree just to shut them up.

Only thing worse then a woman spouting stupidity, is arguing with her.

Just read the answers. Read the many, many ugly replies. Don't just read the first 5, go through all to see the MASS. Gawd, it really made me shudder. Funcom asked for it. It was not necessary, but all the design choices CALLED for such human trash, and there it is, calling its own stupidity out aloud. It seems to me straight men are as dumb as I thought after all. Bah... ><

Well I understand exactly what your trying to say here and I would have to agree with you on this. This should make some good discussions.

I really believe this game is not geared to the GLBT crowd in all actuality...(ok...maybe the T or L crowd...ah hell...throw in the B crowd also)

 

But, from the 2 male gay members of my guild, they have expressed a huge disinterest in Conan...and it makes sense. The game is geared toward the macho crowd clearly, and the fact it tries to reenact the old Howard feel...I believe Funcom has it.

I of course would have no issue playing alongside any of the GLBT community...you just have to learn to ignore the immature, and actually see that a really good game is waiting here. Come in, join and make those immature bastards pay with your swords...

Edge has a good point. Having a good playing experience has a lot to do with how you handle other peoples lack of maturity. If you are unable to handle any sort of immaturity in a video game of all places, then the problem isn't the game. There are a lot of good, and mature players waiting for Age of Conan, and I'm sure once things are settled down the younger crowd will be supressed by a more mature playerbase.

I was not offended by the nudity, or the female prostitute or even the comments made by the barbarians in the forums..  I mean being a woman myself it does not offend me simply because I already thought the best man is a man on a leash =) ( literally) :P.  And since as a woman and  having my own feelings toward men in general, why would it be any different for men to also have their views of women?  Sex and violence are very strong powerful emotions and it is games like this that allow for women and men to unleash their violent tendencies in a manner that allows for people to not get hurt.  I mean in reality we cannot walk up and kick someone randomly in the face, or tear their clothes off.. but in games we have the ability to not keep these emotions pinned up inside , which to be honest is alot healthier for the general population as a whole. I see nothing wrong with violent or sexual quests in a violent and sexual game.

This is the third of fourth anti-AoC thread I've seen by the OP.  It honest to god does NOT matter if there is a woman prostitute at the beginning, it's the story mode tutorial.  It lasts all of 15 minutes then you're off doing something else.  If it bothers you so much to be in a land of BARBARIANS go play a game with pretty boy elves.  I personally do not care if my character is an elf, a barbarian, or a gay guy with rainbow swords.  I want a game that has good gameplay and as long as I kick some butt with that avatar, it can look like whatever the devs want it to look like.

Being a psychologist,Mr Gaute knew what he was doing and he succeeded.All the games on the market are like Disney parc so he chose the other way.All characters in Hyboria are human with whom the player will easily identify himself or herself.

The game is about Maschoism,accept it whether you agree with the OP or not.The mine is bigger than yours mentally is all over any Aoc forums (more than others just look at the posts where some talk about the specs ).I found that women question legitimate as in this era there were Eunuchs.But as she says it was meant for man in 1930 .I wonder how many of you would have played a lets say " Eunuch of Xotli" instead Herald of Xotli.Even if he was the fiercest warrior you would have been uncomfortable with the fact that your nuts are not there anymore for the prostitute(sorry no buff).

Why do you think Batman Begins and The Dark knight is more towards Miller's vision instead of Bob Kane? It's simply because what was good in the 30's will not work in 2008 but Maschoism was there since year 01 and will always be there..its sad but true.

While were on the subject of homosexuals, the thing i dont get that i wish someone could explain to me is why alot of homosexuals change their voice and make it higher sounding.

To me they always seem like more attention grabbing then other homosexuals who dont raise their voice, for example I work at a theatre, and alot of the homosexuals there speak like normal men, with deep voices.

Then i will go to work and there will be alot of gay men at the bar who talk with a high voice for some reason, and in my opinion always seem to be more attention grabbing and really "Flaunting" their homosexuality, where as the people at the theatre really just go on dates with men, but dont try and "Act homosexual".

This is all just my opinion and perseption of the homosexuals i have encountered, and is a serious question, as i dont speak candidly to any of the homosexuals at my work or theatre.

LOL! so true.. women are wayy more fierce in combat. And in this day and age, we are being combat trained at very young ages because daddys do not want their little princesses overcome by some guy. We are taking self defence courses, kickboxing, firearms training and fencing at younger and younger ages.
