God I hate casual players, they just play for half an hour and want all MMOs changed to their likings.

It's more like we have lives and cannot dedicated 4 hours a night to "raiding".  Been there, done that got the tshirt.

I want to have FUN, not work for something.

I know I know... have heard this one thousand times...

I really don't get what's your problem...

You'll still get the coolest trophies and the best gear to pwn us married "kiddies" with full time jobs. However there won't be any content that we're locked out of and since the majority of it doesnt have player limits attached you'll welcome us as cannon fodder at least.

IMO your leet hardcore uberness has no point unless you got us poor sods to compare it to.

Everybody wins!

My problem is, I want dungeons where a group has to spend 5 hours to finish, something epic. Not a 1 hour dungeon. With you, people that want a whole MMO just to play one hour during two days a week, developers have to dumb down everything just to accomodate to your oh so busy lifes.

God, to play 2 hours a week, do you really need an MMO? go play Guitar Hero or something.

I don't understand how a 5 hr dungeon requires more intelligence than a 1 hr one...

And besides, I have nothing against 5 or 15 or 25 hr dungeons, just as long as I am able to a) actually see them and b) get some kind of reward if i only play one hour there.

And in addition, sometimes I put in at least as much time into a game as your average no-lifer. However I want to spend this time playing and having fun, rather than grinding for raid supplies or playing guild politics to get a spot in a raid. Been there done that but now I'm too old for that crap.

I'm sure that the ratio of time played vs time having fun in my raiding guild was approximately 3:1 or even  4:1. I had to f***ing work in order to have a shot at maybe having some fun. Never again. Never!

Intelligence? who talked about intelligence?

Unfortunately for you the future of mmo is in the casual players because gamers such as yourself are like grasshoppers hopping from fields to fields.(game to game) where as the casuals once they like a game and find it fun they will stay and play.(they are here to make business)

Players such as yourself are always in competition and are always in need to prove they are the best.Warhammer Online is not about individualism it is about sharing individuality in a collective reality.

If you are a real hardcore player, have you been able to complete Naxx?I guess you are in a Uberguild? if yes, give us some proof of this accomplishment

You are so wrong I don't know where to start. Naxx? I have never been in an Uberguild and I have never been the best. I only want harsh death penalties, epic battles and real dungeons, I want to get lost in a hard world, where I have to slowly and painfully how to orient myself, not having a GPS, how to swimm or to make my own clothes, how to wield a sword. A world where race and faction are important. To make it short, a big and complex world to spend hours upon hours. Your uber stuff and your competition to be the best are something that makes me yawn.

You and me both, but until there is such a game, there is all sorts of fun to be had in WoW and I hope WAR too.

Yes, I'm done with WOW now, I won't deny I had fun, and some epic moments, but it's pretty much broken now,  community included. I do hope you are right about WAR.

Yes, "learn" is the word missing there, thanks^^.

WAR may not be everything you are looking for  but i believe it will be a game that keep you involved with a lot of things to do.

I am a big fan of the ToK and that is the main reason I love this game already. The fact that the devs add quests that you can only stumble apon out of curiosity.

For Example in one of the presentation out of Paris They showed the player following a guard (with having no incentive to, no goal before hand and not knowing of any type of a reward) to a camp site where the guard started a conversation with a fellow guard...to make a long story short  the guard attacks you you find a key to a mage tower (which was always in the game but you couldn't enter it) and then you go on a line of quest for this mage.

It's these little things combined with the PVP that will make this game great and will keep players going on it for a long time.

THAT all being said, will WAR finally kill off the "Casual" label as a derragatory term?  Will we finally not have to worry about elitist pricks complaining that "your gear isn't good enough" and a dev team that seems to think you MUST spend hours at a time with 25 people you probably would rather not jsut to progress and see content?

I wonder what WAR will bring?   But if they can kill the damn "Casual" tag I'll be more then content with the 140 I have so far paid for it.

*blink* WTF? When did the term "casual" player become a derogatory term? LOL I have played MMO's sine UO & never seen this to be the case.

Granted, there are those that throw that around, but typically it never bothered me because, to me, anyone who dissed on "casual players" 99% of the time fit into one of two (if not both) categories

1-> a child. (teenager, w/e)

2-> someone with no life outside of the MMO.

All the MMO's I have ever played in, my wife & I have always hooked up with casual guilds and scheduled groupings, ect with other adult players who had a life outside the game.

Yes, there are people who try to mouth off at others because they spend 40-60 hours a week every week in the game & feel that makes them somehow special/important/better/ect ... but I've never seen that pervasive and unavoidable.

This sounds like, IMHO, you are having a personal struggle transitioning from being a 'hardcore' gamer to a 'casual' one. I would suggest you find a good guild that accepts 'casual' gamers & find out all of the wonderful aspects of being, and associating, with other responsible, hardworking, independant adults who enjoy casually playing an MMO.   If nothing less, you'll find you have much more time to get, keep, and <FK> a real life female. (not to suggest u dont already)

As long as developers continue to make time spent camping in front of your PC the real determining factor to what advantage, you have, over others (that don’t play 24/7), “casual” will still mean “MMORPG-peasant.”

Working and slaving away in real life is where you “earn” your economic/power status, not in a game-world… when will the developers realize this?  MMO’s are going to stay second class citizens to Televised programming until developers realize this.   Only 1% of the population is filthy rich to the point that they can play games all day, so where do developers think the folks earning/paying fees for games/gaming-rigs are earning these dollars, if they are expected to be online, in their game-world all day long?

I'd have to agree with Crazybear 100%.  WAR will be different from WoW in many levels don't get me wrong.  I just don't see EVERYTHING being different if you get my drift.
