Is this still the case?  You cannot make an alt until after you reach level 20?

I can't answer your question, but there's really no point in starting any other characters before you've dragged one through to 20. It's been stated earlier by the devs that once you've taken one character to 20 and left Tortage, you can skip that sequence with alt's and go directly to your hometown.

Not sure if thats the case, but I hope it is.  Tired of adding friends to my list that have 30 alts, because they make 7 level ones to hold their names.

honestly it was something that I read during a dev interview over a year ago.

never heard anything about it, and certainly isn't the case at the moment.

In the open Beta you had maybe 8 or 10 character slots across all servers.  I think I made 6 characters, none of which reached level 13.

That's ridiculous.

Especially, considering, their original plan was to not even make you pay for the first 20 levels.  It was originall "level as many characters to 20 as you want, but then you have to pay" <- that's not a direct quote.

The only thing is, I don't think you get an option to skip certain beginnings until you get a character to certain level... no idea if it's still possible to skip tortage though.

I know in the OB/PvP weekend, etc. you could skip the beach intro.  I don't know if they ever implemented a way to skip all the way through to 20 or not, but I sure hope they did =p

That is not the case.  You can have multiple characters pre-level 20.

thanks, thats all I needed to know

Even if they still let us skip tortage with are alts do we start out naked as we would in the beach intro?  Or do we get the armor and weapons we had in open beta pvp?
