i got a call from gamestop this afternoon, telling me i could pick up my AoC preorder friday may 16th, and the game would be live on sat. may 17th at 12pm pst. i am assuming they got this confused with the early access? (which i never signed up for) guess i have to call them when they open up and see what the duece they are talking about.

Lets try to blame this on Funcom, come on peeps i know u can do it.

Well atleast u get your CE before the release, u wont be able to play it before 20th thou. Just wish i would get my CE before release too, would be cool to beable to check it out instead of just ripping the gamedvd out to start playing asap. :P

There are several posts on this already. The voice message (automated voice on Gamestop's end) said the game was available on the 16th for pickup but that game servers would NOT be live until the 20th, even with the box in hand. (Obviously this doesn't apply to EA users.)

I got the same call and the message clearly stated that the game would begin on the 20th at 12noon EST.

i swear to jesus it said 17th of may at 12pm pst, i listened to it about 3 times. but, anyway, i knew it was probably incorrect.

If it said 12 noon, that was a snafu in and of itself. All servers are supposed to go live at 17:00 GMT which WOULD be 12 noon except for daylight savings time. Add +1 hour, so 1PM on Saturday.

Not knocking you, mate. Each gamestop has it's own operator error to contend with. Just didn't want to have peoples hopes mounting.

Not knocking you, mate. Each gamestop has it's own operator error to contend with. Just didn't want to have peoples hopes mounting.

it wasnt getting my hopes up, i didnt believe it, but i find it funny the amount of  "human error" that is going on because of obvious miscommunication. (whether from internally or from funcom)

I admit, looking for the standpoint of a professional in IT project management, there have a been a few 'typos' that could have avoided some issues. Someone in quality control/quality assurance dropped the ball more than once.
