General Discussion

Most people who buy dogs, buy them because they are small and cute.  I bought mine because I was ready for one.  I researched all the crap I was going to go through.  I wanted a medium dog.  Saw this one.  It fit in the size of my palm.  What I didnt realize was the size of its paws.  They were huge.  One indication that I was in for a big dog.  Chloe is now 86 pounds...sheesh.

I have cuts and bruises all over my arms and hands from playing rough with her.

If you are single,have a busy schedule and little patience, a dog isnt for you.  Dogs are like having a two year old in your house all the time.

They need allot of attention and love.  Now if you cant provide that.....get a cat.  Cats are easy.  They dont give two hoots about you.  They never get bored.  They are extremely clean and never need potty training.

Dogs need love and attention all the time, but they give it back a hundred fold.

Pretty much said it right there. Also you gotta watch what you do to them when they are puppies. They REMEMBER things. They really don't forget. I can't teach my dog to shake.....

Actually I was ranting about loose dogs at my HOA before This attack occured.  There was another attack here 4 days ago involving  2 pitbulls in my neighborhood.. I live nowhere near my nephew.  I was already upset by that attack and the attack at the school here. There was an attack last month on the elemntary school playground as well. There was an attack on the street behind mine last week. This post was after I have had enough of this. The sheer number of  attacks that I have been seeing is what made me post about this topic. Right now in my suburbia yuppie neighborhood, we have our residents "arming themselves" because of the  number of attacks that are now occuring.  That frightens me more than the dogs do actually, because I don't even know if they know how to use firearms properly. Just the residents here are sick of People letting their dogs run loose attacking people. I think this could be solved through education , and  dog owners taking responsibility for their pets rather than all the neighbors arming themselves and going dog hunting. I think that Dog owner accountability is a better solution. Otherwise my crazy neighbors might wind up shooting the owners instead. I have never even heard of someone being attacked by  "stray" dog. All of these dogs are pets.

A guy down the street shot another pitbull yesterday that was near the playground. The natives are getting restless here... I hope they can figure out a reasonable solution before  all the angry dads in the neighborhood start forming lynch mobs to go dog hunting. After a few beers they aren't going to be picky at what they shoot.
