For firefox, search IE tab for add-ons, so that if you go to a page that is better in IE, just right click and it will say, "View page in IE" very useful tab.

I saw this post on another board on my irregular visits to it but saw someone saying Endless-Ages was revived, http://www.endless-ages.com , Crazy after Rapid Reality Studios took it, closed it down, made a sequel that got closed down as well.

I hope they release their Q4 of 2007 reports soon. It is very interesting to see the changes in subscription numbers.

This is actually a really good idea. Despite not being able to understand other languages, it would be interesting to see how players from other places play. It may seem minescule to others but I just might reinstall factions just to check this out.

Hi all, Simple things that tick me off about some mmorpgs.

#1 they consume your life to get Just 1 of the best things in the game.

Ya it is pretty much like this, there is an adena (the currency) grind as well in this game.

#2 Grinding Grinding Grinding for XP, I like to do other stuff other than kill monsters. Like in guild wars those were nice options to grinding the Storyline you can follow in each game. Stuff like that is good. I also like the wow quest system where you turn in a quest and you get an item you can use in return not an XP card.

This game is the definition of a grind but if you manage to bypass that, this game is VERY addictive.

#3 Cash shops.

No cash shops, wow one of the things that you will be happy with lol.

#4 open world PK between allied factions. (I dont mind the WoW style Horde VS alliance or the PVP in Guild wars that one was a blast.

Hmm.. this game is Open PvP meaning EVERYWHERE. This game is heavily based on PvP actually, castle sieges, fortresses, olympiad, and basically PvP anywhere. If you join a major guild, you will probably find PvP almost everyday if you are high enough and go to the regular spots.

#5 End game that only "The most hard core in the game" Can do, And the rest are left to watch and envy. (Ala FFXI gods)

Well for some reason the really nice thing about the end-game in Lineage 2 (atleast for me) it seems is that you don't really need to be hardcore for it. Sieges for in every two weeks and besides that you can log in regularly whenever your guild decides to raid or find PvP atleast that is why I do. But every guild is different.

Those are the things that tick me off about some mmorpg's I have played. I don't want to name them all since I have played over 14 of them. So With that out of the way And knowing these facts. Should I give L2 A Try ?

Judging by what you said, you will be disgusted. This game isn't for everyone .

Does this game have something to offer some one who likes to casually have fun and still be able to compete enough with the crazy hard core players like GW? (Btw I quit GW a long time ago Just got old to have 8 lvl 20s.)

I have been playing casually for a long time and it actually does offer nice rewards if you compare it to personal achievements. If you are competitive then no it won't give too much rewards. I felt rewarded because I went casually, and there were many nice breaks that gave you enjoyment like reaching the different grades, raiding (a lot of people raid during 20-40 and then in upper levels). But I take breaks from the game because after a month or two I start to become competitive and realize I am not going anywhere, currently on a break :).

8 other titles? Wow, NcSoft is very nice, I just wish their customer support would be better (this is coming from Lineage 2, not sure of other NcSoft titles).

So is there any difference between this and SL?

This game shows nothing innovative to me. They claim it to be heavily on PvP and warfare but I have read a lot of it and it seems the combat is instanced or only in certain parts of the world. That doesn't seem so hardcore PvP to me.

Then I would suggest Vendetta-Online, I don't play it now, but when I did try it out, it was quite nice and there was PvP (faction based, three factions).

This is one of the few times I actually refer to Lineage 2. Usually I just say no but since you are coming with someone else (especially your wive so timings should be fine), then the game is a lot more enjoyable. It is a grind game but I never even cared about the grind when I played with my RL friends.

Edit: Just saw your other post about not having loads of time to dedicate. Lineage 2 may take a long time if you are looking for content that L2 is aimed for like castle sieging, etc. but if you are looking to just progress through the game and have some enjoyment along the way without caring about the grind then it is a nice enjoyment. Especially try adventuring to new places in game since there are quite a few places to level and a nice change of pace finding new sights to level at.

Another game that could be nice is Guild Wars since it is mainly going in groups and everything else in instanced.

Considering Guild Wars 2 is coming out, do you believe it will still benefit casual players like Guild Wars did or will GW 2 lean towards hardcore players?

I feel bad for the donators. I remember seeing that you get privilages for donating more and people kept pouring money in. Victor or whoever he should definitely return to money, that is just plain sick and wrong.

For gaming, go desktop but that is just because I have a new laptop and I do not know why but I am afraid to put any games on it. Laptops are very useful for traveling, etc. but if you just want to game, go desktop.

Actually if you go the main website, www.lineage2.com they have the whole story somewhere on the side links (starts with "By the Bonfire") and then has regular continuations of it. There is a whole story that many do not seem to realize. The quests however may be horrible (aka kill monster to get item), the story for the quests are actually all related.

If it works it was your battery.

D.

Thanks for the advice, if it happens again I am definitely trying that out. Thankfully, I have yet to have problems yet .
