I have seen the 12 man hinted at but cant find a link for it

I did find this

vnboards.ign.com/warhammer_online_age_of_reckoning_general_board/b22997/106867497/p1/

Q:Is the King encounter an instance or an open encounter?

Quote:
The King encounter is one of the biggest exceptions to the rule of 6 men [for instances in WAR],

it's a 24 man instance.
Source (Part 2 at 5:28)

its implied that there are other exceptions - otherwise he would have said only exception

I dont see this "super-hype" you reference, unlike the hype AOC had

the NDA is lifted - people are talking about the game, good and bad

people can see for themselves during the pre-order open beta or they can signup with Fileplanet

the PVP patch may not be until September

but it would be helpful for Funcom  announce a revised timeline for it,  if its not going to happen in August

speaking of ideas being used over and over

clockwork gnomes
Everquest had them back in 1999

and now WOTLK will be introducing their own version of a clockwork gnome

So since we're forced to play a guessing game instead it's said by someone they lost a third of their base when RoK was unleashed but SOE has recently said at the fan faire there was a 20% increase with EQ 1 and/or EQ2.  I put and/or because I'm not sure which they meant or if they meant both.  I've only read things and not watched the faire.

If they did lose a third that 20% increase would offset it a bit.

SOE also said that ROK was their best selling expansion among all expansions

ward-Winning Fantasy MMORPG Marches Toward Sept. 18th Launch

FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GET READY FOR THE WORLDWIDE WAAAGH! Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:ERTS) and Mythic Entertainment today announced that the highly-anticipated MMORPG, Warhammer® Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR), has gone gold and will open its servers on September 18, 2008 at an MSRP of $49.99 in North America.

Weve done our best to create the next great MMORPG experience, but its the fans that will bring our world to life, said Mark Jacobs, vice president at EA and general manager of Mythic Entertainment. The Day of Reckoning approaches and its going to be glorious! Its time to go to WAR.

Based on the popular tabletop game from Games Workshop, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is an epic fantasy MMORPG featuring innovative Realm vs. Realm game play that pits the forces of Order and Destruction against one another on the battlefield to determine the fate of nations.

Awarded Best Online Game at the recent Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany, Best PC Game of E3 by G4s X-Play and Best MMO of E3 by IGN, WAR has been well-received by critics and by the gaming community as an accessible and engaging MMO title. Tens of thousands of players have already joined the battle in the closed beta, and soon the time will be at hand for players the world over to pledge their allegiance to the armies of WAR.

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is scheduled to launch simultaneously in North America, Europe, and Oceania on September 18, 2008. Available for PC, WAR is rated T for Teen by the ESRB.

wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Fort_aspenwood

its the only PVP i enjoy in GW because it has PVE gameplay too

I kill many more npcs than players in that map

or I will be busy bee running amber from the mines or trying to stop Siege Turtles if playing Kurzick

"Its a beta", "miracle patches", "supposed to be unfinished", "all games release unfinished & with bugs" etc etc.

All I can say is... we'll see.....

except that unlike Funcom,   Mythic *communicates*

Fileplanet is not offering Headstart - thats only for Preorders

Only North America, Australia, New Zealand Standard Edition will get Open Beta

for Europe, Standard edition will not get Open Beta

www.only-war.com/Forums/viewtopic.php

Will EU SE pre-order customers get into WAR Open Beta?
No. This was a solution well suited for the American market, but less so Europe. With more diverse demographics, we have opted for a solution where we will be giving away 55 000 Open Beta keys through the EA Store and other community sites. This allow for a more focused approach, better suited the five-language market we operate in.
