er, i didnt get any second or third part. i did leave it on update a few days ago when i bought it. (on overnight when i slept) but today, i only had around 30mb... i didnt get anything else.

yes, you can filter it. (well, you can turn off the nippples, fatalities, and blood, i believe)

Thanks for taking the time to read my post and for answering but, Im sorry to say so but it is/was a bug. It happened to me on character selection, character creation, on the Starter Instance (beach) when you are alone, and to a lot more of people with a lot of players around or alone.

 

So still waiting for someone who experienced it to tell me if it is resolved.

well, that does sound like a bug then, but the way you first explained it did not.

it isnt a bug... when you have too many characters on your screen, some have to load into low textures so your fps dont drop to slideshow.

We pre-ordered the game too and we wanted to be where you are (in-game and having a blast).

But:

1) early-access was limited and we couldn't get in

Not much to do about (1), but about (2) there must be someone you know who got an internetconnection that is fast enough?

Thing is, we shouldn't "have" to try to find friends who could help us...etcetc

Anyway, nothing we could do about the d/l. Actually, this was over-discussed in a previous thread. Thing is in many countries connections are not so high-end atm so torrents suck. Thing is, a worldwide game company should know this and chose another method to give the client to their world-wide customers.

um, aoc was available at eb games to pick up on the 16th...that is plenty of time to go buy the disks and install it. about the early access key, maybe you should have ordered it sooner?

right, i couldnt care less about leveling fast, i enjoy my game more by exploring and leveling on the way. sure, it takes more time to level...but what are you going to do when you are capped out anyway? stand around and be bored? (to be honest i would quit playing)

yes, i have a solution for you. the servers DO NOT come online until the 20th of may at 12pm EDT. just because they gave you the game already doesnt mean you can log in until the game is open to everyone. (which it isnt, only people who paid extra for early access)

just so everyone here knows. i tried to retrieve my buddy key (on the little card in the box, it says to log in and blah blah.com with your account and claim it.) it isnt giving me the option to claim it at this time, so i am assuming it will not be available until some time after launch. (which would be understandable, due to the high volume of players that have already purchased the game.)

2. wait a few patches see if performance improves some.

3. play it how it is, and deal with it. (if you can)

edit: oh...and also make sure you disable your virus software before playing the game (SHUT THEM OFF) that could be a big problem. (also, norton is the worst av program ever, i would delete it.) get avg anti-virus, it works great, and easy to disable when you want to game.

Internet connection is cable, never had a problem with it before.

As for video card drivers, the latest driver for my video card is 167.xx which is under the recommended for AoC. So i DL'd drivers from laptopvideo2go.com and now have 169.xx, anything higher seems to mess up my comp and or freeze game. 

My hard drive is over 1/2 empty.

yeah, unfortunately it doesnt look like the go cards are supported under the new 175.16 drivers. that is a bummer. i dont know, have you tried running ad aware, and a avg virus scan? also, i think that cpu is a little outdated.

Oh say it ain't so!! I currently have a ATI x1950XT 256 meg and it runs ok. But thanks to Mr. Bush (not), (2nd IRS refund) I ordered a 3870X2 1gig from newegg. Reading this post has me worried now, guess I'll find out tomorrow when it comes.

 

BTW I averaged 13-15fps on average on medium setting. On high al I did was lock up. Medium settins I ran all night no problems.

you are going to listen to a 17 yr old? anyway, i seriously doubt it, he probably has no idea how to keep his computer up on maintenance. probably full of spyware and viruses from all that porn. hey shadow, run a spybot s&d, and ad-aware, and an avg scan once over and see what you come up with. also, if you are running vista, install service pack 1. learn to maintenance, and dont blame your inability to do it on a game.
