This post is funny.

Things FC INVENTED:

a different combat system...no it has appeared in other console games for many years just adapted to MMO play.

Conan Lore...so the books in the store have the devs listed as the authors amirite?

PvP Mini Games... I am not even gonna answer this one. And even if they did for sake of argument I thought the games shining pvp purpose was to capture another giulds keep to call your own??? BUT PVPZZZMini games rulezzz k got it.

Some other brainchild listed the classes bear shaman stygian assassin and dark templar:

Bear Shaman = Human hybrid healer/mellee class

Assasin = Human rogue

DT = Human Tank/Offtank class.

How about these three things:

1. A unique and exiting zone unseen before called the "Wasteland of empy quests"

2. The combo of Crash to Desktop crits you for one PC reboot.

3. A new breed of PR guy that releases a statement regarding OOM errors / lag spikes telling people with 4000$ gaming rigs that their computers are old and shoddy and that is why they can't play thier technical marvel.

4. Just in case someone feels these points are debatable how about the New and original Customer support function they implemented at launch: You know the one you send your e-mail to the Lighthouse for the Blind.

On a positive note I think this craig guy will help the game a great deal and am glad to hear he has slapped some people around to get you guys the server merges that the players need. I am sure all 8 of you will be better off.

Hahaha, I love brainless people.

First off, the person asked what's new about this game. NO MMO has a combat system as deep as conans. Sorry, but it's true. If you want to go into off-line games, then w/e. But the point is that it's the only game where you can decapitate you're friend online, end of story.

Books are games? Nice logic....

As for the mini-games, I really couldn't care if someone else has done them or not. If you want to be a little WAR fanboi and say "Nu-uh!@1 we got mini pvp things 2!", then sure. You do. But which game was released first?

And on the whole "Some other brainchild listed the classes bear shaman stygian assassin and dark templar:" thing, HE WAS JOKING.

How bout you read posts before flaming them?

This is nothing but a troll post, but apparently the mods don't actually do anything around here to actually moderate trolls, so rock on.

EDIT: Why exactly do you trolls choose to live and fill this forum with these useless flame threads if you hate the game as much as you say. Get a damn life and move on.

LOL! So you're saying that fans make up the game? In that case, Halo would be the best game in the world while little wonders, such as Castle Crashers (just an example), would suck.

Don't you think that the GAME ITSELF should make up the rating?

It's MMORPG.com, people here are retarded.

Don't expect them to realize that the game they're playing is shit until about a month from now. Then all of them will quit and when Aion comes out all of them will be like "OMFG!! AION!!! RATE HIGHER RATE HIGHER!!!". Rinse, repeat, and welcome to the online world.

I didn't find the game enjoyable at all actually.

I found the combat dull and boring, while the PvP and RvR was the only thing that mildly entertained me. I still feel that the game is boring. Maybe I've been playing RTS's and FPS's for too long, and the slow combat of an MMORPG isn't for me anymore, but i still find it boring.

Now I get to watch as fanbois flame me. Fun.

Worse MMO's of All Time:

1. WoW: This game has completely ruined the industry as we know it. Seriously, people always ask why games are so crappy now... well it's because they see the insane (yet undeserved) success of Blizzard and try to copy them. Half of every new MMO nowadays is copied from this game, and half of the stuff in this game was copied from other crap! I mean, seriously now! The game's not even that fun, its a mindless grind to 70 and then you PvP and raid for some shiny toys. Horray? No, no horray.

2. Maplestory: Possibly the worst grind game ever, yet the most successful cash shop game on the market. I have no idea as to why people pay for this game. It takes effin YEARS to even get to level 40. No game should be like that.

3. Hellgate London: One of the two games that, in my opinion, could have been pure gold, but were released too early. HGL had a very unique concept, some great gameplay, graphics, and a fairly loyal fanbase. But, unfortunately, the game was rushed out. The bugs were overflowing with this game, and it completely destoyed it. Really, really sad.

4. Age of Conan: Another game that could have been pure, pure gold. This game has THE MOST interesting combat I have ever played in a MMORPG. It's engaging, fun, gorey, and awesome. Decapitations are epic, and the graphics in this game are breath-taking. But, yet again, the game was pushed out too early. PvP was insanely unbalanced, bugs were everywhere, and quests were nearly no where to be found after level 50. If this game could have been in development for just 3 more months, it would probably have another million subscribers right now.

5. Fury: A game that goes from P2P, B2P, then F2P in less than a month must be absolute crap.

Note: To all the people who say that Everquest is one of the worst games ever, please, get your 5 year old asses off the computer. ALL MMO veterans know that Everquest was possibly the best MMO ever made. It had so much content, so much stuff to do, and such a great community while it was alive. This was before all the WoWFags had to come and pollute just about every other game with their non-sensical crap.

For me I need the sense of immersion to want to explore a online world and because of the isometric 2d view it really kills that for me because you can't look around or remember the world around you like 3D worlds.

So because of that fact I find the world to be rather bland.

+ It wasn't one of the first, just one of the first that people remember.

Are you seriously saying that Ultima Online wasn't popular? That game STARTED to MMORPG genre! There was Meridan 56 before it, but it never caught on. Ultima was the first graphical MMORPG to EVER gather a fan base (which still remains to this day). And if you're saying that only 3D games are good, please go kill yourself. I could easily name 50 2D games that I would consider absolutely incredible. The most popular game in the world, Mario, started off as a 2D game, and they still make 2D games for the mario series! I find your lack of perspective truly breathtaking.

It is essentially the same story all throughout the world with this title; it isn't just Asia.

First the game was in such horrid shape that it should not have seen the light of release day for a solid two months of bug fixes. Even then the game didn't have an ounce of in-game features that were listed on the website (before release). True, but the game was released a little early. They released several patches within a months time and fixed almost all of the problems that people complained about. They left out some content, put it back in, and added more now.

Secondly, the game's development company pulled a "bait and switch" tactic on free features, founders features, and subscription features. I mean, they totally rewrote the whole online features comparison table -- AFTER many people had already subscribed/founded. Uhm, no? They always said that you were going to be able to play online for free, with additional features for paying subscribers. That has never changed and they don't plan on changing it.

Third, they acknowledged that they KNEW, for months prior to release, that there were major memory leak problems but couldn't find them prior to release. You obviously didn't play during beta. During beta, it was HORRIBLE. They did fix the majority of it. Now, there is essentially no memory leaks.

Forth, their response/actions towards in-game spammers has been lackluster, to say the most about it. Go on the game now, if I ever see an in-game spammer Scapes immediatly comes on and bans him.

Fifth, their "support" is laughable at best and at worst it just plain doesn't exist. Uhm, once again, no? They have a very intensive support forum, and a very thorough FAQ. If you can't find where the FAQ is on the site than that's your own fault.

Sixth, their billing system was a farce for well over two solid months AFTER release. Did anybody even both to test this thing before release? Are you just repeating yourself? Anyways, there were maybe 5 cases tops where their internet lagged and it caused them two billings. They fixed that problem immediatly, none since.

Seventh, FSS and Ping0 have signed an agreement with a well-known spamming/farming company, for "future" titles and/or content in their games -- a'la item mall. I haven't heard this rumor before. Proof please.

I suppose I could go on and on about all the things they did not do right but I won't; it isn't worth it. They have proven that the bottomline is cash and they haven't got an ounce of care for anything else. Otherwise we wouldn't be seeing the whole "You should thank us for our hard work" speeches Bill & team put out, when they announce (6 months later) that they are bringing in shared stash...yeah. You obviously don't release how hard it is to put that into a game. It's very technical and requires a lot of work. Plus, they were already busy with pleasing other gamers, optimizing the game, fixing bugs, and adding new content. You can't blame them if their busy.

So this is the subscriber content, huh? Wait for months on items promised at release and then be asked to be thankful? I guess that is like being told you should be thankful you still have your job and to not ask for a raise or your position may be off-shored... It was never promised at release! Show me where they promised that. I remember them saying "And we'll have stuff like ... in the future" but they never promised anything like shared stash on release.

They have a reputation that they are 100% responsible for now. When your company name has become a catch-phrase that means you've been duped/screwed, you know that you have pretty much blown your first (and in most cases only) impression. "You've been Flagshipped". That phrase is really only used by you and other nut-cases that care only about the small things, and nothing more. Bottom line is that the game is a fun hack n slash. Nothing more. If your too pissed off about a freakin shared stash or maybe your game crashing every 2 hours a month after release then you're just weird dude.

Just made a few comments ^_^

Do only to others what you would do unto them.

You guys don't like the game, then why are you upset about it?

I'll spell it out. M.A.B.I.N.O.G.I.

Also, with this new update, you'll get the extra shared stash with your subscription. That's a big thing too, since you seem to find only uniques for other classes (Atleast that's what happened to me T_T)

So, I'm just going to put in my two cents.

I've played since closed beta, and currently level 24 right now. I have basically ran out of quests. The only quest I have is to kill a troll. Now, seriously, it's impossible. If I do a smash attack against it, which is 200% damage, it only takes down about 10% of it's health. After the smash, I have a chance to counter attack once, and that's about it. If I defend it still does about 30 damage and breaks through it. So I don't know what to do.

Before this wall I've ran into, the game was splendid! I absolutely love the boss fights, dungeons, and the apparently limited quests.

I didn't get far into the G1 story line. Still need to go give some mana herbs to some druid. The snowman quest kinda turned me off.

As far as items and stuff, I've got a round shield, a fairly good sword (Blessed, 2 hit 1 hand sword, 17-35 dmg), linen curiass with 4 defense and 1 protect, and then normal everything else.

I have also found that a great aspect of this game is that it actually requires skill. A skilled level 10 could easily beat an unskilled level 15, unlike basically every other MMO. While the game is partial equipment based, the equipment does you no good if you don't know how to use it.

The Mabinogi open beta will be starting March 5th. Be patient! I know it's hard, but trust me, after playing CB and pre-OB it will be worth it.

The game does revolve around cash shop in a way. And if you don't use it there can be a problem with your character. Here's an example:

Everyone 3 months (real time) your character will reach age 25 (if you start from age 10, which you should) Once you reach age 25, your character will no longer gain AP for skills. You are still allowed to gain levels, but your skills will suffer. With the use of cash shop, you can "re-birth" your character, back to level 10, and start over again, only you still have all your skills and equipment.

This may seem weird at first, but if you compare this to a P2P game, it is a lot cheaper. The re-birth will cost 5-8$. Thats only 20-32$ per year to play the game. Another P2P game will cost you 100-150$ per year o_o.

Also, the other major thing inside of the cash-shop are character cards. You are given one free character card, but after that, if you want to make more characters, you need to buy a new card. A regular card only costs about 1-2$. But a premium card will give you more appearance options, and costs about 2$ more.

Anyways, hope that helps, and hope to see you in pre-OB tommorow!

I, personally, don't subscribe. But after patch .1 and .11 i hear that subscribing is fairly well worth it. Stonehedge is really fun, and a lot more open-ended than the regular game. Also, it's pretty

Im going to be very optimistic on this one and say yes, sometime in Q2 2009. Just my prediction.

The game has so, so much more potential than any game I've ever seen. It's really a shame that many are considering it vaporware.

And then there's guys like us, who'll play any game for fun, and when we find something we like we'll play it despite what the mainstream mass idiots like. Send me a PM Socrates, would like to swap IGN's.

It's as much an rpg as guild wars isn't it?

oh, I guess he didn't really like the game for long...

lol, yeah, he made this thread then a few weeks later made that one. Made no sense to me at all how one can go from praising the game to absolute hate of the game. Oh well.

Hmm... maybe you should play the game before calling it a grind like everyone else (no offense to you of course, just saying that everyone thinks this game is a grind for some reason). I was able to get to level 15 in about 3 hours. And I toke my sweet sweet time as well. Talking with my friends, playing music in the town, partying with people and killing Golem's and Giant Spiders. I'm guessing that if you really wanted to rush it you could get to level 20 in about 3 hours. And that's barely any grind at all.

This is what's going on in every typical MMORPG'ers head when they see this game

1st. This game is from asia! Automatic crap cause there is no good game from asia!

2nd. Since it's from asia, it must have a ridiculous grind cause every game from there does.

3rd. Anime? There are no good anime games!

4th. Anime based must also mean that it has bad graphics!

5th. Anime based must mean that the game is for 5 year olds!

6th. There must be nothing new about this game!

7th. That means that I do not have to play it in order to tell everyone in the world that this game is utter crap.

8th. I'm going to go tell all my friends ( 3 ) to hype this game really low.

And that is the typical person on these forum's. *sigh*
