Funny thing is, both games were made by indie game developers, one got a big publisher and ended up being a flat out aweful game.

The Other Ended up gaining a respected community and making a whole other world for its players.

I dont hate SoE, and im a pre-cu vet.

I actually quit the game before the NGE, just because of bugs and other little things.

If I could go back i would have played the last couple months out before the NGE.

SOE has made EQ2 and Vanguard both amazing games, especially vanguard! I have no complaints with them now, but i will always hate what they did to SWG.

In most battles you have Red vs. Blue, Dark Vs. Light.

No one has a side anymore because no one knows what to believe with the game. You have people that hate Darkfall, flaming other people that hate darkfall. People that are looking forward to the game, are yelling and name calling people who want the game too.

Honestly though this board is out of control.

 Information comes out that provides only a bit of proof, but nothing to 100% assure anyone that the game will come out, or is not coming out.

I think the MMORPG staff should realize this board is breeding a community you dont want.

The Board needs to come down true as that, until a real game is presented or the company closes shop.

You have to remember The Original "Middle Earth Online" had 16 classes and you could write books in game of your ventures.

Im sorry but your post started off the wrong way and now you regret it.

 

I think going into a VG forum saying vanguard has worse graphics and gameplay then WoW, will get you this exact response.

I played WoW for about 2 years, it was a great game.

 

But Vanguard has worse graphics then WoW? Are you kidding me? You obviously dont have a computer capable of running the game on high settings, which is why WoW is the game for you and not VG.

 

WoW is for everyone, thats why its popular, vanguard is for a certain breed of player.

Also to the guy who said "The only thing different about vanguard is the setting, crafting and diplomacy"

 

HAHA! that made me laugh really hard, the whole point of the game, is you get great crafting, combat, and diplomacy, you can play any sphere of the game you want. Most people never even get into crafting or diplomacy so they dont even see the full game. What im saying is, all the things you named that make it different are huge, and you act like crafting and diplomacy are nothing.

Don't tell me what I do or do not regret. I asked if I should expect more from the game. Any damn right I think the graphics are worse, the character models are laughable, granted some the texturing is nice but that's about it. If you can't accept to hear anything bad about Vanguard you're living in a dream world. Accept that not everyone will share your opinions.

 

I perhaps underestimate the petty and childish nature of internet gamers. Oh well more fool me. You keep fooling yourself the game is perfect and at the same time alienating potential new players.

Not Pre-Cu i agree.  But you can community search at peak hours and see there is well over 100 players on BF. Same with Bria and chimmy.

 

:/ Are you kidding me!? 100 players at peak hours is sickening, sad, deplorable. 100 players in a well populated game constitutes a small to average guild. Pong probably still has a larger player base than SWG. Having so many players years back in SWG that you waited in que to log in was a population, now its just a few walking dead in a dead game.

It wont appeal to the mass market because the game just isn't good and its ugly as hell with it's poor art direction. Any game can be popular like Ninja Gaiden is a very very hard game and yet it still sells well. It's not that Vanguard is too hard or it's sooo much more elite than popular mmorpgs, because that's more of a play style but it's just because the game isn't good.

WOW can be sooo much harder than most mmorpgs with it's PVP because you're fighting other players and that's sooo much harder than fighting PVE in PVE only mmorpgs. Also if you want to get to top ranks and get all the best gear in the game then that requires constant play because the game is constantly changing and adding better items.

For me Vanguard is just a poor empty mmorpg with hardly anyone playing, the art style makes me wanna throw up and the character model and animations are some of the worst I've ever seen, specially for a new mmorpg. The standard of the game is subpar and SOE have proved that they just arn't going to put the resources into the game.

Exactly, its all opinion. I for one love the way graphics look in vanguard, and i hate the way graphics look in AoC.

Is one better than the other? Thats not for me to say, but i perfer Vanguards.

Take for example LOTRO, I played the game, and didnt like it.

I loved the roleplaying and the housing, but there was something about the game i just couldnt get into.

Do I hate LOTRO? Not at all.

I actually respect the game, 100% because in my opinion its a huge difference from WoW or any other MMO. I just cant get into it, which is sad because I really wanted to play the game, and get hooked.

Hopefully one day ill get a friend key or something and ill enjoy it agian, but until then.

I think if HB, proved one thing, is that the darkfall devs need to get a grip on reality, and actually release a damn trailer with a full UI, or character customization or anything.

No company should have to be Investigated daily, questioned its exsistence, or have this much of a mixed faith, from fans and non fans alike.

But first, why not do this little experiment. Go to Google maps and type in your house number, street name and town/area. I did that with my house and a different local house and got the below results. The red X was the house I was aiming for.

So, the search on Google maps is not accurate and will often put the map marker merely in the area of the search target.

Lets recap.

You started the thread claiming that Aventurine's address was fake because you couldn't find it.

Eulampios used the Greek work for "Avenue" and found the address for you.

You blew a gasket.

Known pictures of views from Aventurine's office were posted and compared to the maps.

You pointed out that the view angle in the pics was wrong for the map marker on google maps, and pointed out a much more likely location.

You went further and massively strengthened your case by drawing viewing lines.

I've just shown that the search on Google maps can be inaccurate and will stick the markers somewhat off their exact target.

 

 

So ...

You started by claiming that Aventurine's address was fake.

You ended by pinpointing the EXACT location of Aventurine's offices, despite the flaws on Google's maps.

Im really glad SOE has brought this game from the hole it was in.

I hate what they did to EQ, and SWG.

But they made EQ2 and VG into real knock out games now.
