If anything, those two combat systems (eq and wow) are so different that my grandmother would notice the difference. Since they changed SWG combat system I dropped it, no game should ever be alowed to force change a system so much, for better or worse, it cuts the mood, the feel the way things were, it hurts bad anytime, anygame. They should have worked on the armors reduction numbers, the lightsaber effects/skills and pay someone to think on a jedi increasing population for a fix. That's it, not a half throttle combat system, more bugs and numbers on my armor that give no clue (not even an estimate) about a % reduction

Not having PvP option these days on a MMORPG is a flaw, all those who defend not having pvp option must see that this will cut player base harshly, and if you sort the kiddies out, you'll realise a large number of people like to play pvp sometimes to break pve boredom and they won't be able to in this game. I mean you can *try* to defend the roleplay issue about "pvp is not in the books" but hey, that's a lie, AT LEAST you see some form of dueling between characters, and if the orcs on the other side are players, well that's pvp (hey saruman was just another mage who opted for another path, why can't others? ). Last pointer on Turbine games, Ac2 PvP system didn't work out well, they had to work alot on it, and still it didn't come out good so I guess they will drop pvp till they know how to make it, DDO won't have pvp and LOTRO won't have it also. |

I'm not a PvP fan, I'm not a kiddie but I agree it's fun once in a while to break boredom of PvE. Anyway, as online games tend to take great steps each year, I have yet to see a game that lets me stare down another player, duel him or impose in a party by force at a limited degree. Yes I do want to fear that evil aligned player, it will bring great repercutions to both if we fight but I can if I have to. Bring me a game that implements this style, I'll play it! |

I'm in love with thief/rogue class, tough I have to see how multiclass works, since a lvl 20 cap can be not that hard and multiclass might extend the game for me (lower xp from multiclassing = more time to reach lvl 20). |

You can already see the some weapons on Test Center 5 server. Blasterfist with Heat damage, a 2h Katana, Sith Sword, etc. no armor implemented yet. Best way to see what's coming it trying out the stuff on TC, first impression made me cry, poor novices, but it gets fun along the way. Trt it. |

Yes they have the biggest market, and they will have since they have brought so many new players who used to play WC3, SC, Diablo etc. And they won't lose it so soon, the first MMORPG always has a special place in your heart and you end up tolerating it way more than any other. ... Childish whiners are in same proportion to guys who vote 10/10/10 for WoW on this site, it's a great game but I know 5 dudes old enough to be my dads that quit because of constant problems logging in, not everyone complains, you'll find that casual players don't often post.. Anyway I'm not saying WoW is bad, I think it has a good quest system and that's fun overall, but low level cap + mindless pvp will break it |

Falconoffurry, I'm sure you know that Ac2 always lacked publicity, storm is right when he says it's missing something to make Ac2 player base go up, I know this, you know this and the devs know this, that's why turbine joint efforts with Sony for Legion distribution and advertising, something that Microcrap never did while they owned Ac2. IMO the only way Legions will get Ac2 back on it's feet, is putting the games on the shelves, where you can buy it cuz you looked at it at a shop. Yes the game is missing a good article explaining how much better the game is, taking in consideration the Hero upgrade and Legions, but also all those content that was brought into the game by the montly patches, and obviously this article had to be linked from the Game Review sites, cuz that's where me and so many more browse when they are considering playing a new game Ease down falco, you're pushing away everyone from this board |

I still have the game and Q asked me to play again when Legions come out so probably I'll give another shot at the game with a Drudge Still Hero 2.0 didn't look that appealing to me, yes they are fixing stuff and trying to put some sense into all that hero grinding, but from what I read, hero stuff (passive) give a small boost to certain aspects of the game, by putting hero credits into it....not very appealing to me, missing something to make me grind 5 levels for stuff that will only boost a little...not my taste, missing good stuff to make it feel rewarding. I played this game for 1.5years, and I've been a year helping the devs on the testing team (that tests content and improvements every month) on that time I played. They have a good crew but the player base was slaughtered many times during all that time, too many nerfing and balancing, it eventually burned me out as some things make no sense, some classes will always be better than others at a certain time, for example, I was Feral since start, I was a damage dealer, then changed to a "druid" where I had to opt for one of 3 paths, "DD", "Tank", "Fast Hunter", and some time later into a Tank only, losing a pet in the way, and being nerfed several times after that because the Feral has a triple attack and a hero skill that adds to damage, and we can't have that. Ac2 was my first MMORPG, I still have a family there, it's a good game (better than WoW IMO) but the devs should stick to put content into the game, items and special skills, letting the players be a little godly at hero levels, instead of toning everyone down ever 3months to keep you hunting like you did 2 years ago. |

I have to confess I'm not a star wars fan and that I don't like the concept much, but SWG really has nice graphics, sound an unconventional fighting style and alot of costumization/classes for added flavour eveyone loves On top of all this, IT HAS THE BEST CRAFTING/RESOURCE SYSTEM I ever had the chance to experience, and this for me is the top KING feature of this game, resources actually shift and change, never 2 alike and the SAME crafting recipe will have different quality, depending on resources used and skill, amazing....simply amazing. For me if any other game wants to learn from SWG, they'll have to copy it cuz it's just so good it makes me play for almost a year now.

I would vote for a middle of the line for all the reasons Erillion said. I currently play on Kauri that I consider middle of line, we also have some campers, but we get more room and a bit less lag I might add. Sometimes, finding a public buffer can take a bit, if you don't want to visit an afk bot macro doc/entertainer...but I usually just bug a doc passing by |

For "some" quests you need a group if you want to do them when you reach base level to do them, but even with low population this is easily done. This game rewards feudal ranks, in order to join a guild you have to "swear" |

Forgot to add this game also requires skills to quest and kill creatures, if you just stand there you'll get dead. Some skill have 2-7 seconds resets and you can combo them into fast killing machine, this combat is FAST paced.

Well first off, this game as been out like 2 years, it doesn't have top graphics to some games like SWG and Lineage 2 in terms of character definition and moves, but it's very good in fantasy terms, and if you really jack up graphic settings, well, it has quite good definition, the engine is good, but I doubt they will upgrade the graphics to something gorgeous. The quests, well, if you want a game with bunchload of quests, this is it, there are quests for evey level and, most are repeatable, so if you actually play this game a bit, you'll see people helping newbie just for kicks every month, and huge amounts of players gathering for high end quests, that you can join....well just by being there..you don't even need to talk to anyone sometimes. The costumer support is "ok", the comunity is good and the this game gets content updates every month, and this awesome, really rare to see in a MMORPG these days, I mean they actually add items and quests every month.... The level cap is 150, and by the time of this post, I'm guessing the max they should have is a level 82, so for those guys that like to grind, well you can grind it, or do like normal people that level slower just by doing some quests, well most people would take advantage of the 1 hour double xp bonus every day you get by being a hero (over level 45) also. Now some bad stuff, other than the not so good graphics, is the craft, where everyone can master craft everything if they put their hands into it, meaning some crafters do everything by themselves, no need for economy and trading for materials...and...most stuff to craft later on is sooo expensive that is nuts. Other stuff is although there are shops (bazar), there is still no housing or storage, so if you want to keep alot of items, you have to create characters and "mule" the items....by dropping them on the floor or telling a friend to keep them while you switch characters... I'm not playing AC2 because I love crafting and I moved to the best crafting game (SWG) with houses and stuff, but I recomend AC2 to any player without high graphic realism expectations (AC2 > WoW for comparison) and though AC2 has low population atm, it has a new expansion coming out and it has alot of stuff to do, solo or group.
