Dear Dr. Laura,

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind him that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate.

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the specific laws and how to best follow them.

a) When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

b) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

c) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

d) Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

e) I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

f) A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an Abomination (Lev 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?

g) Lev 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

h) Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev 19:27. How should they die?

i) I know from Lev 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

j) My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? (Lev 24:10-16) Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help.

Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

Your devoted disciple and adoring fan.

Great post!

If I'm hungry, I'll eat a handful of pistachio's in the shell. Pop them in my mouth while I'm playing, open them with my teeth and spit out the shells. I found that's the simplest and requires the least amount of attention. :)

I used to drink Jack Daniels all the time, but lately, I've switched to Jim Beam 8 year. I think it's a bit smoother than JD. I've tried Single Barrel Jack, Maker's Mark and Knob Creek, but Jim seems to sit best with me.

As for beer, Smithwick beer when I can find it. Otherwise I'll drink Guiness if I'm hungry or if I'm eating "real food", probably Sam Adams or Killian's.

First off, I think the OP is full of shit. Secondly, if indeed the scenario was true:

A) You need to tell your wife and own up for what you did.
B) You can't get "tricked" into marriage. (Unless you're on an episode of "Firefly", which I don't think you are.
C) Cheating on your wife is a release of being unhappy with her. You need to talk to her and let her know what you expect of the marriage. If you all can't come to terms with that, then go your separate ways.

How does 28 Weeks Later compare to the first one? I thought the first one was really good.

The thing that always gets me about articles like this is, it says "58 gay linguists were fired" and then also points out they were using military equipment for personal agenda's (IM, e-mail, etc), yet people harp on the fact they were gay because the people who publish stories like this, want you to do that. Please show me in the article, anywhere, where it says ONLY gay people were fired? You know what? It doesn't. Why is that? It's a classic case of advocates (in this case, gay rights advocates) using only relevant parts of the truth to support their needs. What kind of impact would it have had if the story headline was "500 people let go, 58 of them gay". Not much. How many of the people let go were white? How many blacks? Men? Women? I'm sure we could break down the lot of people who were let go and come up with a story of discrimination for just about anything if we wanted to.

I agree with Jarlo on this in respect to the movie as well as the animation comment. After watching Shrek 3 I went home and watched Shrek 2 and you can even see improvements in the existing characters (Shrek, Fiona, the king, etc) animation as well.

I thought the whole "Multiple Jack Sparrow" hallucination thing that was throughout the movie was kind of dumb. I guess it was in there for comedic value, however, it just wasn't that humorous in my opinion and I felt it detracted from the movie. The other thing is, I thought the whole thing with Davey Jones cutting out his heart was so he wouldn't feel anymore? If so, why is Will Turner all lovey dovey at the end of the movie?

No, the router should be fine. It sounds more like a service issue. When you have an outage/intermittant issue, have you tried running a traceroute or anything? It may show where the break is.

When I read your post originally, I thought you were exaggerating, however, after seeing the movie last night, I agree 100%. It was a bit ridiculous.

I just got the same error when I clicked Quote on a post to reply to it.

Not sure if this had anything to do with it, but I'm at work and doing other things so I had the thread open for like 10 minutes before I clicked Quote to reply. After I received the error, I was able to go back into the forum, click on the thread and Quote without an issue.

Thats why alot of British directors want to stay making in Britain because we have no such laws over out cinema.

What are you talking about?

I just started playing Company of Heroes and I have to say, this game has the most cut scenes I've seen in a game in a LONG time.

If I recall correctly, the Mayan calendar doesn't state it's the "end of the world" in 2012. The direct translation is that it's the "end of time". It's our interpretation that this means "end of the world".

So, perhaps a better question is, what else could "end of time" mean? Possibly the end of linear time? Who knows.

Dont know if its a really good alternative but i heard good things about it
code: :blocks
http://www.codeblocks.org/
Just post if you thats not what you were looking for

I've downloaded it and I am working on getting it set up, but I think that combined with MinGW might fit the bill. It looks like Code::Blocks is a general IDE for many different compilers which is pretty cool.

Thanks!
