AoC has been really fun, and the world is gorgeous, and I haven't come across any game breakin' bugs. I am 31, and am still lovin' the new experience. We'll see if it keeps me interested after WAR.

So long as they make it so that if you want to focus on PvP you can still stay competitive it will be successful. WoW exploded after they did that, and it only makes sense for future MMOs to do the same.

I am definitely going to give AoC a go now. I wasn't going to if WAR came out in Q2, but hey it's good news for Funcom

As much of a fan as I am of the series and how badly I want this game to be launched, I cannot bring myself to enjoying those pics. They look horrible in almost every aspect minus the character models ( and even then some of them seem very pixelated).

I don't see it. How can you say they are "very pixelated"?

Edit: You have to remember as well kids that these screens are taken from the beta server...it'd be like taking screens on the WoW test-realm...

I guess I must be blind, because those graphics certainly don't look like WoW's. It's too bad they won't be as good as LoTRO's, but that again is speculation.

I was a skeptic of LoTRO when it first came out. I didn't give it a try until the beginning of this month when I finally became bored with WoW...

After playing my guardian to lvl 20 I have no idea why I was a skeptic. The game play is great (I love the reactionary mechanics of guardians in terms of their block and parry), the quests are fantastic, the shire is probably the most fun I've ever had questing, and the game is absolutely goregous.

I am taking my time leveling, and enjoying the game; 1) because there is so much to do deeds/titles/traites,  2) because I hear there isn't terribly much to do at max level. That being said I would recommend anyone thinking about this game to take their time leveling, and read the quests.

A truly well-crafted game, and I completely agree with one of the previous posters; If more WoW-players gave this game a try (or had the computers to run it) I bet a lot of them would jump ship.

Herald of Xtoli...it's what I wish they made demo warlocks in WoW...and they finally did it in this game

Actually CE mounts are unique, War Rhino & War Elephant, they have special skins and wont be purchable ingame for everyone.

Stats wise they should be equal, only looks would change!

I actually remember reading somewhere that they are giving those rhinos and elephants special "size" bonuses...which like I said earlier, is lame for those of us who can't justify spending $90 on a game

They are trying to get people to do it just for the mounts...especially since they are saying the larger sized mounts are going to be able to do more impressive things in combat...

It's kind of lame though for people who don't want to spend the extra money

Like someone said earlier, any new game could be the game that upsets WoW.

When WoW came out no one in their wildest dreams thought that it would be as large as it is now.

Personally, I don't think it will be AoC because of the game going with such amazing graphics; most people I don't think will be able to run it. Graphics like WoW/WAR are much easier to run. Also, personally, I'd rather seem a game running at low settings that looks like WoW than see a game that looks like AoC on low...I am not sure why though

I have a friend that wants to play a Zealot, so my pseudo-main will probably be Chosen.

The thing is though, is that I plan on playing every race in WAR. So if I play when he's not on I'll probably play empire (with my g/f) or Green Skin (with my younger brother).

With war having different classes for each race I bet you'll find a lot of people doing this actually.

I actually may eventually make a High elf. The class description sounds really cool, and seems (hopefully) like it will involve quite a bit of foresight and strategy on the players part.

1) You can jump

2) The entire game is public (with a few instances)

3) The game background is full of entertaining little hidden (or not so hidden) jokes.

4) The graphic animations are broader

5) Player interaction with any class is greater (more buttons/spells/abilities)

2.)Its awesome

3.)Graphics are way better

4.)Its awesome

5.)I told you so

Hey, I tried to get into gulid wars, then I pressed my space bar, and nothing happened. Then I tried some of the content out...or lack there of...then I went and played some more WoW.

See you all in WAR because unless EA really screws it up there will be no stopping the juggernaut that is warhammer (Though I still wish it was 40k based).

Could you link the thread where they detail WoTLK and it's features that are identical to TBC's?

Baseless statements are fun

WAR PvE is just like WoW's, Public quests get boring after a few run throughs so they are not as great as people like to think. They are basicly a new way to grind faction.

WAR PvP is just very unorganised.. you get no resaon to kill class x over class y or to protect team members such as your healers or tanks etc.. its just a frag fest with no reason to stratagies.

Just more oppinion ofc.

I was thinking of trying it out until I read this. I might wait and see if they introduce a free trial period now.

Paid name changes?! They already charge for transfers. I know they're gonna charge for hair changes too. What's next? Gold, Items and Lvls? Not to mention WotLK will prob. cost a billion dollars.  IMO, Vivendi is realizing they wont be able to offer what the next gen. of MMOs will be able to offer, so they're milking this bad boy.

  Wasn't it always?

Compare it to EVE. EVE has had numerous HUGE and FREE content updates.

Hell, look at Runescape; it gets new updates every 2 weeks or so.

How many content updates has WoW had? Burning Crusade? And that too was a paid expansion? pfft.

Aye I agree with your statement, they're making as much money as they can. My guess is they leave WoW to die after WotLK. People will still continue to play, population might fall a bit, but maybe the game will stay running for another year or two. Or maybe they might never close it, like Everquest and such.

I seriously think instead of WotLK they should have made a new game, Hell; even if its WoW2.

ZOMG ZG was free! So were a lot of the lvl 60 raid dungeons, AQ, Naxx, etc. Just because you couldn't get there doesn't mean it wasn't there.
