What, exactly, did it fail at? Seems to have a very healthy subscriber base and its sales were fantastic. |

I hope it succeeds. The more diversity the market the better. |

Not sure if 6 months is the right time, but I'll be specific: To the point that Warhammer Online was not a playable demo by the general populace it was, indeed, vaporware. I don't know when Warhammer became a beta, but roughly that time it ceased to be vaporware. Any developer can claim their software does a thing. Until they can demonstrate through the user that their software does such a thing it is vaporware. Until you can play it, it's vaporware...pie in the sky promises. |

Gaming, as a hobby, should always take second seat to your life's goals. This is a natural progression of maturity. |

The comparison is moot. One is a game in public beta and a release date. The other has no beta and no release date. You are comparing a legitimate piece of software with vaporware. Revisit the debate once the vaporware materializes and can be played. |

So much frenzy for thing that no person in this forum has touched or can touch. When the game is playable it ceases to be vaporware. |

All I see in this is a large tantrum being thrown because other people have more time to play a game than the OP. |

I don't think a true MMOG based on the Herbert universe would look anything like what most of you think of when you think of Dune. Consider the following post I made a few months ago: |

Vaporware it has been and vaporware it will remain until it can be played. |

I believe that those who hold the opinion that a sandbox game would be more desirable to the general populace are completely mistaken. |

Simply because you don't see why people would do it doesn't mean it's not a valid and desirable activity. |

It doesn't make a better game in my book. But I'm not a masochist who wants to be punished for making a mistake. |

I have yet to hear of a single way in which a game designer can turn an antisocial person into a social person. In essence, that is what is being demanded here: that antisocial behavior be "corrected" through game design. It's preposterous. |

Which is to say that you are in the minority? If that is so, why would developers cater to a minority perspective? |
