I found the game to be pretty fun for about 6 months. With that being said alot of people say its got alot of potential. IMO a game loses having alot of potential when it's been out for close to 2 years or so though. :) That window is gone if you ask me. :) |

I would like to say yes because Fallout freaking rules. However an MMO is being made by Interplay and must be complete by 2010 or they lose the right to make one. The setting itself doesn't lend well to an MMO due to the nature of the Fallout universe. It's supposed to be a barren wasteland with not a whole lot of survivors. If they recreated the entire US though then it would work very well. Anywho....there is a post apocalyptic MMO coming out soon. It is in Alpha right now and is called Fallen Earth. It's looking pretty decent so far if you catch my drift. "wink, wink" |

I'm a huge FF fan and I tried it once before. Had alot of crap going on so I didn't stick with it. This game is hardcore! IT is truely FF though that is for sure. I like the fact that there isn't really any handholding and you need to figure out stuff for yourself. This game has depth beyond anything I could have imagined. Also you can make the graphisc nice as hell through the registry edit. Freaking sweet. Hit Severian up on Leviathan server and whatnot. Game is fun....I like it, despite it being old as dirt it still looks good. :) |

I've been watching this game since inception and applied for beta when registration opened. I won a key and now I am ready to crush my enemies, see them driven before me, and to hear the lamentation of the women |

I didn't get a key yet. I just got the confirmation email. Was just wondering if it's a closed beta key that was won or an open. There is no description in the contest about it. :) |

You don't have to fill anything out. Just sign in with your mmorpg account. :) Mine was all in yellow and I couldn't see a damn thing I typed. But it was all the correct info and the info I already filled out on my account. :) |

I played this game for so long. I used to defend it against all odds. It used to be devoid of anything that resembled content thanks to Monolith's brilliant idea of never creating any from the get go due to their live events. Nowadays though they actually have added things to do believe it or not. There are archive missions that reward you with tokens that you can trade in for some sweet looking gear. New archive's are released bimonthly or monthly with new rewards in place each time an archive is added. The Pandora's Box arch is pretty nifty when you hit level 50 or close to it. Pretty cool stuff there. It's definately not a solo adventure when doing that. There are still live events held on a daily basis which is surprising heh. There is also a whole new starting experience that leads you from collector to collector to get some sweet noob gear. The overall choices in abilities throughout the leveling process is pretty daunting as well.
It is not a game for the MMO noob as alot of the things you can do are pretty much hidden. There is relatively no hand holding anywhere except the starting area which has been revamped for the better. Overall I think it's still cool because there is nothing like it out there. It's Cyberpunk. There just isn't a lot of that out there.
PS: I don't play anymore lol. CoX FTW!

An original Star Wars setting that doesn't interact with the movie or take place in the time period is what should have been made in the first place. Freedom of Creativity would make a SW game explode with awesomeness. Bioware would be the only people able to pull it off without a hitch if you ask me. :) |

I got into the beta a very long time ago. I was super excited while playing it for the first 10 minutes. This game is a travesty and is nothing like what it was described to be oh so long ago. Quite frankly.....it's a freaking joke of a game.
EDIT: I played up until level 25+ or so. It's so painful I don't even want to remember. It has the depth of a small kiddie pool. |

Originally posted by Sturmrabe I'm very familiar with William Gibsons work. Just because someone makes a cyberpunk game doesn't mean they can't create their own IP without getting someones permission first. That's like saying all fantasy games need to get permission from Book X,Y,Z because they had elves first. AS long is it doesn't blatantly steal characters, places and names then all should be well. |

The Matrix Online is the closest thing to anything Shadowrun in MMORPG form on the market right now if you ask me. That's why I played it for so long. It loses its appeal after awhile of having no content. Any cyberpunk fan should give it a try though. May be a breathe of fresh air for some. Those guys at 6th World games who were making the Shadowrun game were shutdown by microshaft and are now working on an original IP in cyberpunk form for an MMO though. Hope it comes to life one day! |

Character customization is lacking considering what it was made out to be. It isn't bad by any means though. Alot more variety than LOTRO and pretty much everything else out there aside from EQ2(best avatar creator in an MMO imo). It's just not what it was hyped up to be. Chances are....you will meet your clone one day in the humongous world of Telon. |
