- Plenty of Classes (20) falling into all categories you mentioned and some more.

- RvR is "Realm vs Realm". There are two sides and You belong to one of them. Sounds like WoW but if properly done You got a much more feeling of beeing a part of one side. You always kill enemies and always help allies. You also can capture territory/keeps and even can raze the enemies capital city. Can be great fun, but depends on how its done.

- I Cant tell if pvp will be fun.

- Crafting sounds fun so far. In DaoC (mythics former MMO) crafted items were about the best You could get. In WAR you cant craft armor/wepaons afaik but improve them.

- I dont know if PvE will be fun.

- The community will vary through all kind of people like in any MMO :}

Yep. I didnt play Wow for a year, been playing mostly EvE lately. Yes I consider myself a hardcore gamer, Im willing to try new stuff, willing to grind, whatever. I played most online games including the common MMOS. My machine is even better than the one told, my internet connection is fine.

My opinion is more or less the same as from the OP.

One tip for Your next poll, try not to give 4 answers with only one positive.

1) There has only ever been one expansion pack for this nearly 4 year old game, and there are now competitors.

yep, thats really poor and I dont understand this.

2) They have only added one lone battleground to the game, which you can only reach post 60, which of course requires the expansion pack.

Actually they added 4, since there werent any Battlegrounds at launch, you can play 3 without the expansion.

3) They did add an arena system, and it is very corrupt and broken. Last I heard, you had to do arena in order to acquire gear that was in the battleground reward selection. So now you have nowhere to turn besides PvE-raiding if you don't like arena.

You heard? How is it broken?

4) Professions are more of a sinkhole of time and resources than ever. Jewelcrafters and miners got shafted in 2.4 when they put epic quality gems on vendors, and the design schema at the end of a rep grind.

I agree the tradeskills in WoW are mostly lame.

5) Dailies and the rep grinds they are directly linked too, are overwhelmingly repetitive. It feels like the grind that it is. If they wanted everyone to get these reps, have those mounts, and this much money they could have handled it better IMO.

MMOS are build around timesinks and repetive play. I think WoW has quite a lot of different things to do.

6) Lack of overall content.

Um, lack of content?? Really if WoW is lacking content then You better dont try to build an MMO with lots of content. How huge shall the world be? How many dungeon, items monsters?

7) When I was there, it was hostile towards new/fresh players.

I never had problems with this.

I did run DX9 high settings whatever this is (I didnt check in detail, DX10 not available). Gfx were smooth enough for me (30+ fps), some hickups, some texture loading (or whatever)  when entering levels/ rooms.

And only 30+ frames?! Yikes. In that case, I'm thinking the Hal9000 or a NASA super-computer should be getting around 45 FPS.

Insane.

Well never less than 30 fps is all you need. Why would I want an average 60fps on a rpg game?

Graphics performance is the least problem of AoC imho, with those high textures and detailed meshes you couldnt expect higher framerates. Also note that I used high settings without tweaking for performance (as I didnt care to do so).

It got quite nice gfx, but gameplay wise it didnt blow me that much.
Surely will be a decent game though.

Wow is much easier to play than Eve. Im not saying this makes Eve any better (it can get boring just as easy), but definately:

Eve is much more complex.
Eve has much more to learn.
If you die (lose a ship) most of the time its more of a loss than dieing 20 times in WoW, sometimes like dieing 10000 times in Wow (Titan anyone?).
You need much more teamplay.
You need to make decisions about skilling your character.

And Eve PvP is not even on the same planet as Wow PvP.

Ryl1 is great fun.

I dont mind if it has 1.000.000.000 files and only 1 server running, if it is great fun.
I dont mind if graphics are not as polished or i cannot set the graphics to 2800x 2000 pixels if it is great fun.

I played Ryl1 in closed beta and open beta Malaysia and in the North American Beta.

Every time it was great fun.

Unfortunately in the American Beta some Guides started cheating with the help of GMs.
I had a Lvl73 priest, just one level behind the "leading" Sorcerer and quit from one day to the other.

Now after some month of WoW, which is ultimately polished, nice Graphics and very few files (haha) im so bored by this game (WoW), that I started a RYL1 character on a very laggy Malaysian server.

Even without quests, no crafting, very few skills and comparable crappy graphics its more fun than WoW.

Unfortunately Ryl2 (Path of the Emporer) is very crappy, betrayed a lot of the original concepts and is definately not worth paying _any_ money at all.
