Bioware hasn't told anything to anyone.  It's all speculation.

There is no set date for open beta.  Everything is speculation.  Until we hear it from Mythic don't read between the lines.

there is 60K codes printed for the collectors edition (only 60k copies made).  The idiots at gamestop/eb were giving people who ordered the normal version of the game the CE codes instead of the regular pre order code.  This was causing huge problems.

Wrong Pheace,  Rewind a little bit and you will here him ask the question about the headstart, not the open beta.

COLLECTORS EDITION CONTENT
Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Collector's Edition
Size: Approximately 13.5" x 10" x 3"
Weight: Approximately 7lbs

The Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Collector's Edition includes:

AN EXCLUSIVE GAMES WORKSHOP MINIATURE

From the Age of Reckoning to your tabletop battle!

Based on original characters from the game, this official Games Workshop Warhammer miniature depicts the Greenskin warboss, GRUMLOK, and his shaman, GAZBAG, in rich detail. Assembly and painting is required.

Armed with the great axe Gutrippa and imbued with extraordinary powers by the Witch King, Malekith, these inseparable companions possess abilities beyond any normal Greenskin. Through a combination of brute force and cunning intellect (for a Greenskin, at least), Grumlok & Gazbag are able to unite the tribes of the Worlds Edge Mountains in a mighty WAAAGH! and sack the Dwarf fortress of Karak Eight Peaks. Now they set their sights on nothing short of the eradication of the Dwarfs completely.

AN ORIGINAL GRAPHIC NOVEL

The forces of Order and Destruction collide under the red Chaos moon!

Commissioned specifically for the Collector's Edition, WARHAMMER ONLINE: PRELUDE TO WAR is a full-color, 128-page hardcover graphic novel that sets the stage for the start of the game. Written by acclaimed Games Workshop writer, Graham McNeill, the oversized book is richly illustrated by Chad Hardin, Joe Abraham, Rahsan Ekedal, Tony Parker, and Kevin Hopgood. Each of the graphic novel's six chapters tells a unique story that together detail the events leading up to the Age of Reckoning:

  • Hill of the Dead — The Chaos warrior, Tchar'zanek, undertakes a harrowing quest to cement his place as the dread Champion of Tzeentch.
  • Shadow of the Hunter — Famed Dark Elf hunter, Kaloth Coldshadow, journey's to the Old World to capture a Greenskin leader to aid the Witch King with his plans.
  • WAAAGH! Grumlok — Grumlok & Gazbag unite the Greenskin tribes in a mighty WAAAGH! and lead the assault on the Dwarf fortress of Karak Eight Peaks.
  • Thunder Mountain — The Dwarfs rally against the invading Greenskins under the shadow of the great volcano.
  • Northern Fire — The Empire fights a desperate battle against the invading hordes of Chaos.
  • The Shining Guard — Tyrion and Finubar, the Phoenix King, wrestle with the duties of protecting their homeland and aiding their allies against the forces of Destruction.

There is no bait and switch, there is a ton more that come with the collectors edition then that actual bonus gamestop is showing. If you are that pissed off about it, cancel your pre-order on the collectors edition and order the one from gamestop.

I personally ordered the collectors edition for the novel and miniature, i can really give a rats ass about the 3 day head start.

You trolls are wrong as usual.  It has already been stated by a mythic that early access will have access to the ENTIRE game with no restrictions.

Maybe this is something EA worked out with Gamestop on...HOWEVER do not compare this bonus offer to the CE.

The CE comes with a novel, minature, additional heads for character creation. additional quests and more

the reason they haven't added armor/weapon into the game is because it's hard to balance that type of gear around a PVP (RVR) centric game.  On top of that if you make player crafter armor good it leaves out the rare drops, if you make it weaker then no-one will craft.

Good move on their part

Good Read:

http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/38044

"What we’re thinking about doing is rotating in cities, in and out. In the RvR, so let’s say in the content expansion another city pairing comes up. So the old cities get turned off to RvR. It’s not going to be there as a focus for that. Players can focus on whatever the current pairing is, and then we rotate in another pairing. When we rotate the cities out it gives us time to go back and make changes to them. To learn from out mistakes, we can say we thought this scenario was great it isn’t, we thought this design was great for the stuff in the city and it wasn’t. So we can take it out of production and put a new city in or update the city and put it back in when a new city pairing comes in. So I think for the long term health for this game I think that is critical. I think it is absolutely critical. I am very happy about this decision. I know it is hard for people to believe, but if you just think about it. Especially for the people who played DAOC, think about the issues in that game, or any game, that has RvR or PvP or something similar, getting people to focus on something can be a challenge. This forces them to focus."

Did anyone else get this laughable email from FC?  I find it very sad they had to send these emails out after the very first month .  The survey was not short, and they even asked if you updated your computer for the game.....

--------------------------------------------------------

Dear Age of Conan Customer,

You have decided not to renew your subscription after playing Age of Conan for the first month. We at Funcom regret your decision and are contionously doing as best we can to improve your experience of the game.

"PS: AoC is intorducing a different style of PvP with seiges etc."

DAOC did this about 6 years ago, and continue to do this.

My friend was removed from The Acolytes because they require you to join their IRC chat.  They will also remove you if you don't post enough on their forums.

Well I have a casual guild that i'm attempting to build.  I actually only have a few members, so it's more like a start up guild (even though we were very active in DAOC at one point)

If your interested my guilds site is www.darkaurora.net.  We are casual.  The only other guilds i'm aware of that is recruiting are pretty hardcore / RP

Actually, Darkness Falls originally was a old game for Mythic, back when they were known as Mythic Realms (http://www.mythic-realms.com/).

And for a history lesson.  Darkness Falls was not avaiable during the launch.  It was added in a few months later.

Being a CS Manager i can honestly say thats above average, and i'm in New Jersey.  We start at 20K a year.  At 12 bucks an hour that turns out to be about 23K a year.

I'm sure they get really good perks as well

You prolly lucky to get 7-8 an hour for McDonalds, and yes todeswulf i want to super size my order.

Three sided war sure helped DAOC out a lot.  When i played, our Mid realm would barely have enough to put up a fight.  On most server's mid was extremely underpopulated

3 realms is not the solution.

btw: Ork = 40k , Orc = Fantasy, not taking a shot at you, just wanted to let you know.

LOTRO wishes their deed system was even remotley similar to the TOK.

Go to a convention play the game, then make statements.

NOTE: The TOK is much more then a list of achievements.  Everything that happens in the game ties into it.
