AOC combat system is flawed.

 It sounds excellent on paper but you are going to experience lag, and with those high end graphics you will lag hard. Try having real time combat with lag, it will be insane and people will get pissed.  AOC is going to have MAJOR issues when that game goes live with thousands of people running around with tons of lag.

I can see all the whine threads right now about exploiters window dragging and crap.

Prime example as to why Mythic will NOT have official forums.

not very good news for WAR. There a ton more 40k fans then fantasy.  I think it will destroy war.

However, this game may not be on the market for 3 to 4 yrs

if you play choose the gareth server.  A very healthy population is there

well history shows us in other MMO's that the majority of people play the good guys.  HOWEVER they made choas so badass i think the population will be very even.

Well I finally got my beta invite and here is how it panned out for me....

I was very surprised on how polished this game is.  The games graphics are good.  They are not excellent like some people would say but they are good.    The more surprising thing was I was running the game on Ultra High Quality and it ran perfect.   I have a high end pc but I always usually have some issues running games at the highest  quality.

The game is totally pve based however Turbine does this in a very unique way by putting your character in the middle of the story.  I am not a pve fan at all but this was actually very interesting.  I actually enjoyed the pve in lotro better then in WoW.

If you are looking for a game with new unique features this game IS NOT FOR YOU!  It does have a lot of similarities to WoW.

If I had to rate this game out of  5 stars I would give it a strong 3.5.  I was very satisfied with it.  I had fun and the beta community was very helpful.  I will be purchasing this game, and I hope it holds me over until warhammer online.

The true MMO community is a very small tight knit community.  All WoW did was inflate the MMO community with people who aren't true MMOers.  Sadly you will not see any MMO touch WoW's numbers and that is fine by me.

Out of all the games you listed the one that might possibly pull some of wow subs is Warhammer Online and ironicly you left that one out.  AoC will be a niche game, and did you say Star Track Online? /laugh

First Turbine has a deal with eb/gamespot.  They are the same company now.  If you go to lotro.turbine.com and preorder it goes through gamestop. 

Second just because it's listed under best seller does NOT mean a lot of people preordered it.  LOTRO has a lot of goodies to people if they preorder and that is a good way for eb/gamestop or even amazon to possibly get preorders for the game

I don't have vanguard.exe and you need both disks to install the game, i can't even find anywhere to download the game and to enter the key that came with it.  It is not a hate post it is my experience with them.  Having a blank 2nd CD is totally unacceptable.  It not like it's broken or missing a file.  IT HAS NONE!

I go to bestbuy pick up the game, go to install it put the second disk in and the disk in BLANK.  Not one damn file on it.  This is so damn typical from anything with SOE on it. 

I returned it and got my money back, will not touch anything with SOE on it.   I never bought into all the SOE hate until this crap

it really depends on your play style. If you like pve then yea i would say this game will be fine for you.  If you like pvp i really suggest warhammer online.  You can find information for that game at www.warhammeronline.com

Also, as a game company why would you want to release "Everything" revolutionary you are going to be doing?  All that will do is cause a current game out now "cough cough WOW" to copy it and implement it into their game.  Then we will have more WoW fan's come here and say you stole this and that from WoW!

Warhammer is going to allow orcs to put skulls on their shoulder pads as trophy's.  This was mentioned once Mythic got the IP from GW  Now go look at one of the new races in WoW....SO INTERESTING they have skulls on their shoulder pads now.  It may not be the exact same, but they pulled the idea from WAR.

If anything WoW is a EQ rip off toned down.

Mythic has stated many many many times that this is NOT DAOC 2.0.  It is Warhammer.  If you are expecting daoc 2.0 don't play Warhammer.
