AO is being revived.

Im stil playing AO. cause the rest is currently quite shallow mmo's

But fortunally Funcom announced a new engine for AO.
and when playing on test server, the "officials" such as claire june etc
or devs which ewer refers to the new engine as AO2 engine, and is
compareable with AOC engine, but is ofcourse not identical cause ewen
if you make 2 games with the excaktly same engine, you will and must make
changes to it to fit the game in question. ofcourse some of these 
mmo's that are out atm, are identical with different gfx.

Anywho..  back on topic!
AO is finally gonna get its LONG OVERDUE remake, and they are aparently
reusing objects but dropping the current engine (genesis) as it is called.

Back playing AO "a little" not full time as i have for 5 years

gotta do something while waiting for Age of conan and Crygaia(dark days are comeing)
just really hope they wont let us down, other wise im just gotta keep playing AO
i guess.

way to many low buget or high buget low content games out there.

AO = deep costumization plus lots of fun ewen this long after.

First off im not the huge EQ player, i like the games (both of them) but i dont appriciate soe.

Nevertheless i doubt stoping eq2 in a time, where its player count is growing,  and there appears
to be more ..  hmm   .  Attention on EQ2 lately. i really really doubt they would drop it.

And i do not think you can say its for benefit for another game, cause the people who run
EQ and EQ2 are not the same, same with vanguard (weird game) are a different crew, and
a entirely different account, im sure as long as the profit its at a (preagreed) ammount the
"headboard" or council what ewer they have, are letting them all go as pleased.

So difnitly a silly rumor, started by someone who wanted to just want a post or 
a actuall soe/eq hater. who knows, who cares. i dont. but i cant belive this rumor. 

When talking about PVP, im into AO. 

The twinking and mismatching of fights and the larger scaled 
tower fights, with way to many people to handle by the cluster servers 
now thats great.  lol.

and on a plus, you never know what your up against except you know the
proffesion and perhaps if the oppenent wears grid armor its a dead
giveaway.  

New servers, and a huge loss of players made it ewen more lag free
so i find it wery positive with the less ammount of players currently seeing
on the rubika 1 

Long gone UO player like many more. So i downloaded the client in good
manor to try it out and see the actual changes so i might give it another shot.

But my trial ended at the Uoregistration, they went SOE on me.
By that i mean they (EA) are using excaktly same means for trials and 
such as SOE do for their accounts, except SOE actually allows me to 
trial their games without a creditcard.  UO however requires me to enter
a valid credit card, and purchase game time, or so i atleast understand it
and with that purchase i get the first 14days free. 

So im sorry to say, just uninstalling it again, had to many problems with
to many mmo company's to ewen bother with account issues.

Hell game issues, im sure i can deal with and look past in evaluating a 
game, but account issues should meet a minimum of standards and im
sorry to say EA dont when comeing to Uo, its sad, cause im a UO fan.

Hehe perhaps ill get a timecard in birthday present, they i might try again..

The game looks great on the youtube videos of gameplay ive seen, which
is also why i wanted to try it out. Well another day, and another try.

That said, i had my issues with SOE back on trying out the Matrix online,
due to those issues it made me totally boycot SOE. Well until i had to try
out EQ2. lucky its cancelable by click. which eased my mind on SOE a little..

Was about to download and try this game, but seeing this post, (THANKFULLY)
convinced me not to ewen bother by going to their website, for more info..

Ok just glimsing through some of the comments.
and why Eq2 dont work for me -

1 - Im one of those SOE haters, due to some issues with Eq, and Mxo
      HOWEWER i still give the games a chance, so i bought the eq2 box, and played for a
      few months.

2 - Reminds my of Eq1 with a makeover or new engine. i wanted new content, not
    rebuilds of qeynos.

3 - The chat system, i dont find user frindly (my style)
      which is also why i dumped WoW, and LOTR

4 - Character trades, arts, skills, development
      to simple, more complex and the option to costum your character.

I could list more points, ill stop here, cause many of then could be patched away,
but doubt they will

But on the plus side, if i got to compare with Eq,
It have come a long way, GFX wise, and game style.
The choise between eq and eq2 will no doubt be Eq2
if i had to chose, i currently got a active Eq1 account
doh, had to play with some friends that requested me
to play a few months, so well i gave a wery old mmo
another chance, hmm.  account canceled just waiting
for the last payed days to run out.. 

But i still recommend eq2 if somenoe asked me for a
traditional mmo with roleplay and traditional characters.

Well thats until Conan launches..

Since then ive aquired several accounts with full exspansions.
Running a Org(guild) on Rk1, been playing it activly until a few
months ago, loved the fact where they allowed free accounts for
accounts with no exspansions..  much much fun with so many
new peope.

But after the launch of Lost Eden, ive kinda lost the feeling for AO.
I still run the org, i play sometimes, but they have patched the game
to a point where its almost unplayable, but i sometimes still like
to go on a raid or help a few friends out with something silly. ;)

Love AO, but my needs have grown.
But i havent found any MMO's that forfull the need for information
and possibilities AO presented.

I play all i can try, And i purchase almost all MMO's as a hardcopy
from local game pushers to play the 30-60 day eval. Some i ewen
upgrade and play for a few months,  But i loose interest way to fast
now, ewen such a beautyfull game as LOTR-online i lost interest
ewen in the beta.

I want options, Multiple choises, Freedom in the world i play in,
and a commuity thats now overrun with 10-18years.
oh yes enough with the 1337 talk.

just to keep this silly and pointless post alive..

i play Anarchy Online, Eve Online and several other mmo's
both those 2 are proberly in the steep end of the learning curves.

But what im sure messes with people, is the fact that if they are
fast reading/fasttracking through a tutorial then they miss half of it
or plain and imsply dont understand it.

Same as i, didnt get shiz from the tut.. skip skip skip..

Learn by doing is the way to go..  if you fail start over.
no harm done..  and if so, who cares. Then you are the mofo
that fails a few million times, but ewentually succeded.
isent that what rpg is about in the first place. ? 

ahh oh well  haveing fun is also a part of it,,  But thats
just a feature many game devs forget to incorp in the later
games in this new mellenium.

Old games are to notch,,  just like Eve ;)  Hail..

and concluded aparently there isent much hyped for tycoon typed
mmo's. well atleast not in this community, proberly couse its more
oriented towards rpg ofcourse..

Btw, yes i know they are releasing "spore" soon,,  but hmm aliens,
sci fi,,   no comments..

sounds fun, and yes im gonna buy the game no doubt about it.

Not sure about the specs cause when i started AO it was on a pentium II 350mhz
dont remember ram and other specs, but it was on a voodoo II card.

Since then ive upgraded quite abit, so have AO but the engine core is still running
on the game engine "genesis" old school which "claims" high cpu usage. so
regardsless it will always seem to be using alot more than other's due to the engine.

But some of the pathes have affected how the engine works GFX, whichs have
eased the load on the cpu. or so they say ;)

But your long from alone from haveing the FPS issue and how i personally
resolved it in AO was upgradeing MY harddrives to SATA.
That upgraded upped FPS ALOT, but i cant speak for your system.

Been playing MMO's since ultima online started,
Then AQ,Eq, and EVE ofc..   and tried almost all released on cd's in my area.
Cant really be bothered by downloading trails.. But lately i have done se ewen
so.. 

But in any case, lately been on beta LOTR and in short im kinda getting FED UP
with RPG genere's they are produceing RPG's at the moment as water in the sea.

also a MMO,  but a buisness thingy..  not really paying attention..

But now it struck me,  anyone heard or know of any tycoon type MMO's out there
either in the Buisness genere or build a empire and wealth ? Cause im getting
the feel for the old railroad tycoons and the new Railroads, monopoly and such
games.

And was thinking could be fun for a change.

Any rumors or news guys  ?    AND NO I DONT MEAN those lause MMORTS over at MMORTS.com  lol..  hehe
