Solo option is good for people that start playing the game  after everyone else.  There are few games where the early levels are packed with people wanting to group.  That includes Wow and WAR and EQ2.  If you didn't have the ability to solo you would be screwed.

Do you ever get the idea that a lot of MMO players are playing the wrong games?  I don't think RPG's are for everyone, so it makes sense that some people would hate the idea of getting quests, doing tasks, etc that push a story forward and offer a reward.  That's the whole idea of "RPG" games (at least the ones that most people play).  If this is an MMORPG then it should have some of those elements.  If this is an MMO then it might or it might not.  I consider WAR an MMORPG.  If you don't like it, look for an MMO, first person shooter, or other genre that better suits you.  Obviously we need to inovate.  That is done partly by the PQs and grouping system.  Other ideas come along every few games that eventually get encorporated.  Still the basic idea of what an RPG is remains the same.

I also like how easy it is to find groups.  Click the button, see which one is closest to your location, Join, and run in and help the fight.  It's easy and painless and does't require yelling "LFG" every 5 minutes.  As people find guilds it may not be as easy for the guildless, but it is a vast improvement for both PVE and RVR (PvP).

I think it is actually better due to the inclusion of Public Quests.  This makes the PVE experience exciting and give a lot more insentive for grouping.

It looks like I did get a CE key.  Although I feel bad for the people that got the wrong key...I'm keeping mine!!

Well I didn't order a CE, but I don't know how I would tell if they gave me the wrong key.  It was a couple months ago that I Pre Ordered.  I will count myself lucky.  I recomend you try and log in if you have already registered your pre-order with Mythic.  No false hope, I may have gotten lucky.

I thought they weren't starting the early start for regular pre order people until Tuesday.  I was able to log in with my regular pre-order key.   I created a character and have been playing.  Did they change something, or did I get lucky?

I really like the game.  It looks like around 70 % think its better then average, which is good.  It has had a very popular launch, which means more people playing, more opinions to hear.  Even if half of the people don't re-sub, it will still have a huge population.  Time will tell if some peoples gripes will get resolved, but I think most people are happy with the game they got.  I personally love it and plan to continue to play it.  Atmosphere is the key for me, and I really feel the Conan world around me.  Unlike other people, I don't count zones and invisible walls as taking away the atmosphere.  On my rig zones take less then 5 seconds.  Invisible walls?  There are a lot of places in real life that I don't want to step too. 

I doubt there wil ever be an MMO that appeals to everyone.  For every person that says "I hate radars that give away where everything is" there are equal numbers that get truely frustrated looking for things endlessly.

I read these reviews, but more and more I see there is an extreem mentality  with these games that really turns me off.  People that would rather bitch about the last 10 games that have come out then actually PLAY one.  Guarenteed they will complain about the next one too.  On a game forum you would expect that the forum would be full of posts from people that like a game, want to share about it, ask questions etc.  On this lovely forum, if you like a game you are a "Fanboi" and you are slammed flamed and torn down.  It's rediculous and stays the same after every launch of a new game.

Weird.  I'm not having problems, but I was Early Access.  It says it's supposed to be available to all customers now, early access and retail.  They said that they would let non customers in as soon as they could.  There were over 5000 posts in the first few hours it was open.

HAd early access key  ( i did access the forums then)

Added retail key this morning and setup the account with cc details + subscription plan

When i try to log in forums it 1st says logged in and bring ups the page no authencication , activate retail key crap page

 

 

You have to set a user name and password for forum access in your funcom account.  Did you try that?

I kept trying, no luck.  It looks like they are waiting for launch time on that.  Maybe they needed some hardware for the webserver or something.

Can someone help me figure out how to chat.  when I chat, nothing comes up on screen and I can't seem to figure out how to join a channel

Same problem here.  They may have taken things off line temporarily.  Who knows. 

I have a question.  I pre-ordered in April, never registered my access code till today.  It was emailed to me from Gamestop back in April.  I entered it on the Funcom site and was able to set up my account. 

I had heard that early access was sold out.  After setting up my account and logging in, it allowed me to pay 5 dollars and upgrade to early access.  I was given download instructions and told that early access started on May 17th like originally stated.

So my question is, does this mean I will get access?  Is this because of the age of the key I was given?  Someone let me know so I can either get excited about starting on the 17th, or begin pouting now about waiting till the 20th.

I hope this isn't a stupid question, I'm just confused.
