Lol. What the fuck does being over the age of 30 have to do with anything?  Maybe people would be able to see this "hell of a game" if they actually released some real, hard evidence that this game has been built over the past few years.

Dont get me wrong, I hope as much as the next guy that Darkfall releases soon and is everything it claims to be.  But some people just get blinded by what they want to beleive about certain things that they fail to see what is actually going on.

Lol, not imho.  That screenshot doesnt really do the game justice.  Gameplay was great, community was great, graphics were better than most games for its time and still look good.  Character models could have been improved, but they werent terrible.

The company that was running it went bankrupt, but it has been purchased and will be back soon.  It really was a great game just was poorly marketed.

If you feel like going old school, you should try Ultima Online.  I would suggest a private server as, in my experience, they are better ran and more fun. 

If you dont feel like going that far back, you should try The Saga of Ryzom.  This may seem like an odd suggestion because this game is currently offline and will be restarted soon (thats all we know).  But when this game does come back online, you should be able to run it and it really is a great game.  It has that great sandbox feel that you loved in AC and it seems like a good choice for an old AC player. (including me).  I am just waiting for it to go back online and then maybe I will see you ingame.  Check the forums out at www.ryzom.com.

Lame. I missed it by a day.

It wont be too hard to get a english/american version shipped and that should allow you to play on those servers.  Its never stopped most people when they run into these problems on other games.

I wouldnt do it.  Community is still bad, BGs still dominated by twinks.

But I have a feeling no matter what anyone says you will play it anyways.  Such are the ways of a WoW addict.

1. RACIAL MOUNTS
We have added a unique racial mount for each race in Vanguard! The mounts can be attained through a series of faction based quests that can be started in each race's home town. If you happen to like another race's mount better than your own though, worry not! With the appropriate faction, players will be able to complete any of the quests.

Citizen Favor
The citizens of Telon are seeking adventurers to help spread their influence across the land. By seeking out a faction registrar you can don the banner of a city, gaining favor with its citizens while you battle their enemies. Each creature that is slain will offer a chance to receive tokens bearing the symbol of their registered city. These tokens can be returned to the city in exchange for citizen faction. Be warned that while many factions are friendly with each other all factions have opposing factions of some sort. Raising your faction with one city will reduce your faction with those they oppose. While you can switch factions at any time those who are worried about becoming outlaws in certain cities should heed this warning.

Gaining faction will allow you to purchase factional rewards with the use of platinum tokens. These tokens can only be retrieved from the vilest of beings and only when you are wearing the banner of your chosen city. Those powerful enough to defeat raid NPCs will receive ancient coins which can be converted into a platinum token of any type you desire.

Racial Mounts
With the release of the citizen favor system comes the first factional rewards -- racial land mounts! All races have been granted a unique looking mount with improved speed over other mounts in their tier. These mounts can be attained at levels 30 and 50 after you have gained the required faction and number of platinum coins. Players will be able to get any of these mounts as long as they do the work involved for their attached cities. Click here for a list of the mounts for each race.


2. CLASS UPDATES
This update we have given significant updates to two more classes. Blood Mages and Psionicists have received a lot of developer attention. Abilities that may have been broken before have been fixed, spells have been tweaked and upgraded or updated and all three classes should be more in line with their intended vision in terms of power and utility. Specific tweaks will be listed in the patch notes.


3. ANTI-HITCHING
As always, increasing performance remains a high priority for our development team. To that end, with this update we will be introducing new anti-hitching code that should have an immediate and noticeable effect. 


4. NEW PARTICLES
Sometimes, things just need to look cooler. That was the case for many adventuring class spells and/or abilities. Blood Mages, Disciples, Druids, Necromancers and Sorcerers all received new and improved particle effects.

You crack me up, winter.  First of all, those sites are not at all accurate nor up to date.  The only stats I would accept are from SOE themselves.  I am just basing this on my experience in game and on other forums. 

I have popped in to check in on Vanguard every once in a while since I quit and the population right now is higher than I have seen it in a long time.  I am not saying that Vanguard has a high population,  All I am saying is that it is growing and is getting a relatively high influx of new players trying it out or asking for a trial. 

I dont see the point of your posting.  If you dont like the game, thats fine, but please stop attempting to deny the simple facts of a game that is improving and growing.

And I am not necessarily asking people to spend money on the game.  All I am saying is to take another look at it if you are looking for a new MMO. 

After looking at some of your posts, it seems you may just be a bit butthurt that your PC couldn't run the game on release?  If thats the case, the performance has improved and you should be fine now.  My relatively high end PC could barely run it at release either.

This game is not much of a PvP game.  PVE is the main focus.  There are no BGs, the only server where there is PvP is Sartok and it is a FFA style PvP.

 The game is alive and Seradon and Xeth are healthily populated.  However, Sartok, the PvP server, is a bit of a ghost town.  The game's population is on a rise, many people are returning and new players alike.

I find that the vast, seamless, non-instanced world along with a great crafting system and awesome dungeons make it quite fun.

Yeah Vanguard really has turned around a lot since release.  I played it in beta and release, quit, went back to WoW.  And after trying AoC for a week, I quit that too.  I am now back in Vanguard and am loving it.  The vast, seamless world is awesome.  Graphics are top notch, and I love the fact that there is no instancing. 

Population is on the rise,  I suggest anyone who is considering it to try it, you can get it off ebay or Amazon for really cheap.  I got a Collectors Edition off amazon with the game, soundtrack and cloth map for like 10$. 

SOE is working on a trial island as well if you dont want to shell out the cash. (10$???)
