Because of the sheer amount of choices for guilds I'm posting this hoping the right guild may come to me.

I've had GW since release, but never played anything other than the PvE on proph. I have in the last week or so now got the 3 games and the expansion. Been messing around with PvP as a Mes and Elem, but now I'm looking for a guild thats interested in taking a new eager player under their wing.

I'm a serious MMO player with a good background history of Group PvP games, I'm a pretty easy going 18 year old guy, but when needed I get my game on.

So basically I'm looking for a guild that likes all the previous I have just said with like minded people, who are active PvP'ers, if your guild PvE's as well this is a bonus but definately not essential.

Thanks for that Whargoul, good to hear I'm not the only one that feels spoilt for choice. I'll just keep running through them all and see which I end up happiest playing. Thanks for the advice everyone I guess it's just down to me now 

assuming they stick to the lore they should, no horse mounts in the tabletop game.

I spoke too soon haha. You need to be 18 to get into closed betas to be able to agree to NDA's.

Like someone said before me being active on the forum for that MMO is imperative. Unless it's a game like WAR where it's pretty much pot luck.

Another thing is keep checking out games websites like this one, competitions are a popular way of giving out beta keys and is how I've got into the one only closed beta I got into, all the others I've had to wait like the rest of us till OB.

edit: also a good amount of people I've hard complaining they haven't been invited to beta is a common fallacy that they can't understand why because they have an uber gaming rig. I don't understand where anyone drew that as something that makes you more likely to get into beta, any sensible game developer will want to test their game on all different levels of machines.

Thanks for all the advice, I realise I didn't specify what I like playing as but that has been the whole problem I do like each playstyle for different reasons.

I thought that there would be alot of legolas wannabe's playing hunters, that did kind've put me off. I may take a deeper look at minstrel then if not champion sounds cool to me just wanted to make sure groups aren't put off by melee dps because I've seen that issue in PvE with a few previous MMO's and wanted to make sure if I roll that class I wouldn't have all that much trouble finding groups.

Been playing through the trial and enjoying it, I know I'm a bit late with this. I did play OB but due to RL issues couldn't play. So I've been really enjoying my time but can't make up my mind on a class.

I think the reason I can't choose is because I've never been much of a PvE player. Most MMO's I've played have been for the PvP element. But I'm really looking to get into the PvE side of this game rather than the PvP which seems like more of a mini game to me.

I've done everything I can to try and choose a class, read about them, watch vids on youtube, tried playing out each one. But tbh because of my lack of PvE experience I'm really not sure what I'm going to prefer as a throughout the game. Another worry I've had with choosing a class is also are there any classes which find it particularly hard to get groups and in raid guilds? I really like the idea of playing the hunter long term but also feel the same way about playing as a tank or champion.

any words of adivce on the classes would be very much appreciated, I just hope I can make my decision soon. :)

I don't live with my gf, so atm it's a case of I wouldn't be online if she's with me. Never really thought about any of this haha, she's not into gaming at all in any way so she wouldn't understand, though at the moment I can't see myself saying no to play a game....

Getting into beta's is a pain, best way is to look out on various games websites for competitions. Unfortunatly it's not based nessecarily on picking the people with the best PC's, they need a range for PC's for all beta's to check playability on different kinds of machines. Just hang in there not long to go now were on the final stretch for all 3 of the big MMO titles this year, it's going to be interesting...

I think you'll need to wait for OB and see what you think it has elements similar to EQ and EQ2 only as far as it is quest based and the entire game is story driven. Other than that it's a case of you'll need to wait and see if you like the unusual combat system :)

Warhammer is not like WoW only the graphics and races are. Stop comparing two different games. WoW is a PvE game, WAR is a PvP game.

lol at everyone that argues this, it's the PvP based version of WoW. This was the gap in the market for the big money  maker MMO's.

Which version of SWG are you talking about? pre cu I take it?

You gotta get out there and start downloading trials, asking players what there reccomendations are probably won't work for you. 90% of the time you'll just get people reccomending the MMO they play. If it is pre cu your talking about then there's nothing that resembles it with the current line of games im afraid :(

I think this game is working to provide something for both PvP'ers and PvE'ers which is pretty much largely where this game is different to the WoW clones out there. Not too much has been said about PvP or the point to it, other than the arena's which people have spoken about.

I don't really understand your question though? what you want to know is, is this going to be a hardcore PvP game? If that is the case then no.

Nevermind managed to speak to someone on the Live chat who said there are server issues which means no one can register on the servers.

Looks like I'll have to wait a while to try this out :(

I recently bought the Vana'diel collection to give this game a serious try, however once I installed PlayOnline It cannot connect for me to create a PlayOnline account. I understand the servers might be busy with people coming back for the new expansion, anyone else having this problem?

Yeah your doing great and exactly the way anyone that wants to do well in this game should. The people that have raced 10-15 levels higher than you have ignored their PT's, this means that they'll be what is described as gimped. Basically you'll find PvE and PvP much easier than they will in the long run. Keep at what your doing if your not getting bored and are happy to level like that then carry on :)

At the moment you will properly be effective in PvP from level 47 and onwards, it depends which server you are playing however as this is on Novus, on Lumen the PvP level is around 40 now.

Maintenence is every wednesday morning, try again in an hour or so.
