Got the game to work, but if you have a collectors edition. Do not use the install disc's. Even if you replace the files they tell you to replace it wont work. What will work thouse is to follow this instructions. That comes from SOE, to bad they came alittle bit late, but they accualy helped me to get it work. So creds to the support for that.

BUT!! shame on thouse who says that we players wont get any free days.

THIS WAY IT WORKS !! !! !!

You can install vanguard in the following manner.

1. Install Launchpad if you don't have it already, http://patch.station.sony.com:7000/patch/launchpad/Install_LaunchPad.exe.
2. Go to your Launchpad folder, C:\Program Files\Sony\Station\Launchpad. Right click on launchpad.exe and choose send to --> desktop.
3. Next, create a folder in C:\Program Files\ called Sony.
4. Double-click the Sony folder, and create a folder named Vanguard.
5.. Go to your desktop, right click on the Launchpad icon and choose properties.
6. In the target box, enter this exactly with quotes and all: "C:\Program Files\Sony\Station\Launchpad\Launchpad.exe" /game:vanguard
7. In the Start in box, put this in, quotes and all: "C:\Program Files\Sony\Vanguard"
8. Click on Apply and the Close.
9. Double-click the icon and the game will download.

We apologize for any difficulty running our games in Vista - Microsoft changed a few settings to Vista that can cause a few issues running some of our games. These instructions will help you load any Windows XP game in Vista:

1. Right click on the program launch icon
2. Left click on "Properties".
3. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.
4. In the "Compatibility Mode" area check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
5. In the drop down list make certain that "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" is selected.
6. Under "Privilege Level" make certain that the box next to "Run this program as administrator" is checked.
7. Click on "Apply" then click on "Ok".
8. Double click on the program launch icon.

One major bug i wish they would put more time into is install.

How about, installing the game and dubbleclick on the icon. then you can play. But it's not the fact today if youre running vista

I dont know about youre card or anything. But what i do know is that i came back.. And i paid for a subscription and started to install the game on my new laptop with vista home premium vista 32. Over half of my subscription is gone. Ive done everything soe asked me to try and do. Now they are trying to blame my hardware and get me to see a local tech.

The game box says, runs with vista. My computer is 2 months old and was the most expensice thing i could lay my hands on at the computer store. It's widescreen and has 2gb ram, core 2 duo, nvidia card and whatever. But it just wont work for me.

Im still gonna make this game work

What i will whine about is that i asked if they would consider to add a few days on my subscription after i get it to work. But noooo they tossed the agreement upon paying on me.

What can i say. . .

Do not beleve that the game will work at all with youre machine even if the box says youre way over spec's and has everything to run it. And dont beleave for a sec that SOE will have ANY!!!! compation for you. Youre on youre own, youre money is there money.  If you youreself has the skills to get it to work and are willing to pay to even patch the game. Then pay for everyday you wont get it to work. Go for it

[ Edit: Oh, and i have to add that every other mmorpg game i have installed on it workes perfect, even eq2 and planetside witch also are there own games]

Hi, i like this site, it's the only one i visit when i want to overview the mmorpg world as it is today.

But if im at work or whatever and i want to take a quickpeek it's alittle to much. Theres banners and flashy pictures and colors text everywhere. it's just..  to much...

I would like it to be a more clean first page so it's easyer to overview what the page has to offer.

bug's and chunks and it runs very slow on my computer. I even get some grafical errors after i play for to long. I dont have mutch time to play irl ither no adays.  The game will be good and was kinda fun there for a while. but i wont play it, i resent the fact that i bought a beta and spent more time arguing on how to do stuff and why things are standing still or not working properly then i accualy spent on looking at views and fighting monsters and having fun.

I canceled, and it hurt to do it. i realy looked forward to the game, but i cant play it. It's not what i expected from a huge game producer. And my irl situation is not so forgiving when it comes to me living infront of my computer (cause that is what you more or less have to do, solo content my ass)

wish i was 14 and had a very rich dad who gave me an extreem computer to play with

Ofcourse it's worth it :)

I hate to get games in some cheap ass dvd casing with just a disc, feels like im downloading it. My games are not suppose to be cheap. I spend alot of my life infront of them, therefor i spend alot of my cash enhancing whatever experience i can.

I think they ment downtime ingame. As when you sit down after a fight to reg life and power etc.

The time it takes before youre all ready to fight again.

I totaly agree with you, but i think that is becouse i do like to solo sometimes due to lack of playtime. And since this game is based on community and grouping (aspecialy grouping) i think that there will be alot of quests on the lower levels. And more like, epic quests or such at the later once. This becouse you will be grouping alot and venture down in dungeons or make travels where you meet danger on youre way there. Like pirate attacks or ambushes and such. It's more of the total adventure experience then the accual "NPC wants you to fetch a cup of tea and bring it to him" part.

Once again, i agree with you and im thinking the same thing. But i like the game and the ideas thus i try to find other ways to look at it. that are possitive. And sometimes you accualy finds new ways to look at f.ex. questing in this case.

Great game, and yes. join the classic server.

If you join regular servers you might as well start off by buying two games so you can get a buffbot.
Also if you join a regular server, be sure that you have ALOT of time to spend on the game in order to get a fully grown character ready for rvr. And prepare to be on youre own up until highlvl, if you get picked up by a guild you might get powerleveled up to 50 so you can start working on all the other stuff.

If you join a classic server you will most likly have a better experience. But that's my opinion, take it for what it is.
If you join classic you can group with others in youre lvl all the way up to 50. and you can play all classes without having to compete with a lvl 50 standing outside the group's doing the same thing so you wont be needed etc.

OK! Let's TRY to get this straight.

World of Warcraft COPIED there looks from Warhammer

The first edition of the game, Warhammer 40000 rouge trader, was published in 1987
It has had the same look's and concept ever since, more or less.

Some of the creators of World of Warcraft prolly have played the game alot when they where little or they just got inspired by the looks of it.

This is a picture from 1987, it's close to 20 years old
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:WhiteDwarf090-170.gif

This is one set of the figures that you could play with. There are alot more of them looking alot more close to wow grafics aswell
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:DarkEldarWarriors.jpg

So!, When you start to play Warhammer online. Remember that it is a Title/Concept that has never stoped selling for 20 years. And even in my little town we have a store with a basement FULL or Warhammer board game items.

If you dont want it, Dont buy it.

If you dont like it, Dont read about it or "warn" others about it.

In my opinion, The game will release almost done, like every other game you will find a bug in it somewhere.
It wont be a major bug, and it will prolly be resolved within a short period of time.

This game will be old school, it will be time consuming, it will be large, it will be grinding.
Im just waiting for it, and i will see if i like it.

Im hoping for a great game!

Copeland

In otherwords, You like wizard's, therefor they must be overpowered compared to other classes. And hard to play? how do you make a class hard to play, more icons and options to click on? It's still just you and a mouse and if you wanna be realy advanced you can make macros or whatever.

A caster in my eye's is the easyest class ever to play.

A caster usualy does twice the damage, but you dont even have to be in range, you can stand faar away in safty. And if the enemy comes close you can stop him with a root or you can port away from him. In addition to this you do not have to attack the enemy from a special direction like from the side or behind.

Casters will allways be the EASY PLAYED overpowered wtfpwn class of the fotm clan.

Nice post's. It's good to get a few different opinions and areas of use on the Mauler.

And about the good old days, i sure as hell had them. And i sure as hell still relive them when im solo, listening to the musik i did back in the days. Out soloing in cursed, or nisses. Or when i do some of the classic quests all over the world. SI zones
Ahhh, but i guess im a daoc pve junkey aswell.

(i do like rvr dont get me wrong, but i like both pve and pvp)
