As you have the beta, you don't need to download it at all (via d2d). If you bought it at a store, eventually you would go pick it up and put the box on a shelf. Right now the version you have 'semi-installed' will patch later this week (5th or 6th, I am guessing) and you can just roll right along with that version. If you like punishment though, you can certainly uninstall and re-install.
I have no idea what the address for making the account is. You make a master account there and pop in the codes. The link below was for US. I assume EU is different. |

I would love to comment but I have no idea what you are talking about. Do you have a link to something somewhere showing what you mean? |

yes, i think it will run it.
Vista Ultimate. Ultimate 32 or 64bit will use the full 4GB. 64 bit uses the memory more effeciently and has more multi processor support/usage but isn't required to see over the 3.2GB mark that Home Premium has. And he could try readyboost with what he's got. |

Sigh. 40. Some say yes, some not so sure. There are renown levels no one has had a chance to explore time-wise as well. No play. Yes Download. OB on the 7th Wiped characters after OB.

As I said, this kind of post only takes away from potential players who might enjoy the game, mate. You say you aren't playing because of something as yet unproven. If you want to leave because you are sure it isn't for you, fine but you aren't helping (and are potentially taking away from) others who haven't made up their minds when you make a post like this. All because of something 'You think' not something 'You KNOW.' *shrug* Such as it is. And I honestly don't think you were deliberately attempting to troll in this post. |

That said, if WAR tanks (I don't have the slightest worry that it will) I'm pretty much done with MMOs for the foreseeable future. I'll just put my head down and grind out OT IRL and try to retire before I hit 70. I MIGHT make it for 65 ATM but the portents aren't wonderful. |

But they see one too many of these 'passive knock' posts and miss out thinking, 'This guy isn't ranting. He must know the truth.' |

Any decent Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB RAM, an 8000 (or preferrably 9000) series video card with 512MB Video RAM will do. Vista Ultimate so you have the full amount of RAM avaialble. You didn't mention whether you needed a monitor or not. If you are buying a flat panel AND Vista Ultimate, that can make a $400+ dent in the max allowable expenditure quoted. |

Posting a dramatic 'leave-taking' note when they haven't in actuality played to the end game in their own style (this is key. Who gives a flying donut hole what 24X7 players do for speed leveling) is one of the most obnoxious things to do. Fine. You aren't really leaving because you never really played. So what. If you played, made the observation that 'while playing 2-3 hours a day I hit level 40 in two weeks', THEN you are making a good observation based on your own experience. If you do a couple scenarios a day for renown, that sucks half an hour at least off your hypothetical 3 hour a day limit. I know once I hit Tier two, the leveling requirements were in the neighborhood of 90-100K XP (level 16 or so). Quests were giving 2500-3000 XP per not counting kill XP. I see 1-1.5 levels a day (for the casual player) assuming you don't ever PvP/RvR and that the XP values for quest rewards stay at the same ratio they are in T2 (Not having seen T3/T4 I don't know but it has been said in a couple of places that PvE XP slows.) |

One thing WAR (online) is trying to do is stick to the Lore of Warhammer(the tabletop/story line) as much as possible. |

Actually there would be a lot needing to be done. They would have to create a full 'instance' for each of the cities and add each city would have to have it's opposite to 'balance' the world 'WAR' status. Then probably timers for city takeover combats (which makes little sense if you think about it) because what happens if two (or more) cities on the same side are attacked at the same time because the overall mechanic says that when one side reaches X point of dominance, the opposing city opens up for attack. (Interesting, of course..which city do you defend?) Overall, I could see cities being added as a top level 'forts' possibly but don't see them going in as equals to IC/Altdorf. I hope I am incorrect here but only time will tell. As before, I don't care in general. I know content WILL go in and it will be done in both a logical and fun manner. That's how Mythic tries to do things and so far has succeeded.

I rather like the idea of a non-crafting-centric economy. For one thing, the skills (and items?) are supposed to be a lot cheaper in Beta than in the release. You'll need more cash so thats a good 'earning incentive'. That said, if I want to craft and get a small benefit from it, I can but I won't 'nerf' myself for not doing so. The WAR team/Mythic did a LOT of research before they made this game. It wasn't just a 'gosh thats a great idea, in it goes!' (well, maybe in some cases it was). They saw what they liked and listened to what others liked and tried to make a game around those ideas. Okay the RvR-centric aspect might not be the perfect scenario to some. I was worried about it myself being a PvE style player (as of the CB, I've officially become addicted to PvP/RvR). Other than that, the guiding concepts are 'listen to the gaming community that will support this game.' So far, I think they've done a very good job of it and see no reason why they won't in the future. People can doom-say all they want. I like what I see and will continue to until I see something contrary. |

Nothing was said about not making new characters if a server cap is reached. Caps are short term until folks log off. I haven't been about to find it again but I THINK early numbers quoted were 5K (I assume per side). If one side hits the cap, no more of the side can log in until some log out. Also, when a side is at a population disadvantage/losing RvR, they will get bonuses to help them level in PvE. If you are willing to server jump from a full server to a less populated one and roll new characters, they will give you 'benefits' (as yet unstated) to encourage seeding the new servers and lessening the pressure on the old ones. All in all, unless you hit the 'busiest' server, I don't think folks will have too much to worry about. |

I'll agree with everything except the part about more cities as 'pretty much guaranteed.' This has been widely hypothesized but nothing is guaranteed. I certain hope more goes in later down the line and think if any game is going to do it, WAR will. The only problem with 'pretty much guaranteed' means 'it's a lock' in the minds of many people. Then if they don't see it, they become unhappy. *shrug* I'm playing for the long term (unless something truly unforeseen happens) anyways so I've already made up my mind and I'm on your side. |

Order. How many times does Evil really win? Not a talking about individual battles but the WAR. HAR HAR. Actually I prefer underdogs. If I was going to play an evil character the game would have to allow me to kill team mates. No friendships in Evil! |

Rune Priest and Iron breaker? It isn't hard to get to an allies area. Find the first RvR war camp and use the flight master there. You can get to all the first FMs from about level 3 (being careful) to level 5 which , all in all is the first hour or so of play. If one of the mates decides to jump in early, you can always go get some cash and mail it to the buddy when he/she comes on board. |
