Nah. Its just you who dont get it. And I will not watch the hype videos or read the hype interviews again just do dig up that quote for you. And really, just logging in and playing some AoC proves me right. Think and you will get it.

Wrong.

"Compete with WoW" doesnt have to mean "getting 12 million subs". It can simply mean "the subscribers coming to AoC will be taken from WoW player base". 

Funcom stated that they were indeed going after Wow's subscribers. Thats why so many features are so strikingly similar in AoC compared to WoW. Funcoms idea with AoC was something like this:

"Lets make as many features in AoC similar to WoW as possible. With one exception - fighting. That way we will give all the WoW-refugees an easy transition over to AoC."

For the love of God Funcom get those amateur mods 2 accounts to post with! Funcoms community will never be taken seriously with mods like Charon writing stuff like that. Maybe we should PM this to Famine. Last time I did that mod got banned and kicked.

Seems Funcom really knows the players think facial expressions are important. So they enhanced them!

As far as I know he got fired yes. I remembered I PMed FC-Famine here on mmorpg.com and asked if Funcom as a company stood behind Lufkins "Dont whine like a woman who cant find her shoes!" (or something like that) comment. Never say Lufkin post after that. This was right after the infamous sex chatting GM also. I dont think Funcom wanted more bad press.

The thing is Ellingsen isnt saying:

"We had 400k+ active players Q2" or "Last time I checked our active players there where 400k+ of them"

he says

"We now have over 400.000 active players"
 

Now as on that very day. Not 2 or 3 months ago. Lets not debate what "now" means. The only question here is what "active players" mean.

Is it an active account? (meaning the owner of that account COULD possibly log in this very moment and play)

Is an "active player" just a toon on an "active account"? If every active account have, say 5 toons created on them does that mean that the paying subs for AoC is about 80.000? Didnt LOTRO do that trick sometime?
