If it is completely finshed, why can't we play it? There is only one definition for complete.....

The OP has a point. The majority of the people on these boards are here because they have no game to play (me included). So we list the reasons why each game is flawed. The people that are enjoying their game are playing their game. They aren't on this site for the most part. Granted there are some people who enjoy their game and do visit this site, but I get the feeling that a lot of people here have no game to play and use this site as their F2P MMO.

Tried WAR and didn't like it. Not knocking anyone that does.

After reading itchmon's post, I'd like to try this game out too if anyone still has a key. I'm bob@clarke.k12.ga.us Thanks!

Trying to please everyone was the beginning of WoW's downfall IMO. But judging by their numbers, I must be wrong  I wish the devs would pretend they never knew anything about WoW. But I guess it's hard not to look at what worked. WoW was a anomaly that we'll probably never see again in our lifetime.

I remember when the only epics I ever saw was from MC. Back then, working your ass off for good gear was a benefit in the rest of the world. Those were the days....

There was way too much lack of information for this game since its inception. I too want to play this game - I've just given up on the hype. I'll be totally shocked if this game releases in 2009 at all. Does anyone consider the cost involved for creating a game for the past 7 years? Assume they have only 10 people working on the game making a modest $50,000 per year. That's $3.5 million in expenses in salary alone with no income at all. It's not hard to see why some people are so skeptical of this game. But I do hope it comes out.... eventually....

State of the game on release is now the hot topic, and until beta starts soon no one will really be able to know about that.

But for now, it is definitely innocent until proven guilty.

I'll admit it is real when I can buy it - seven years in development is a long time for me.

The primary turn off for me was the community. I felt like I was playing a single player game with random allies running around the entire time.

Sounds like you've tried them all. Guess you'll have to wait for something else like the rest of the majority of the posters here.

so its kind of the first mmo game i play, where i dont think about the game when i dont playing, thank you mythic for giving me high quality rehabilitation

That's probably the best way to decribe this game for me too. I thought it was just me.

In my opinion, programmers aren't able to make good MMO's because most  MMO's continue to try and copy WoW. The next "big" MMO will not be a WoW clone - it will be something new and different that totally consumes its playerbase. Other factors why programmers aren't able to make good MMO's include the rush to market, unfinished games, broken promises, lack of fun factor, and primarily the feeling of deja vu.

Good way to "contain" a lot of them in a silence chamber of sorts.

That is the best solution I've heard yet. Keep in mind, gold spammers also contribute to the company's bottom line. So they are probably not too eager to remove people that are increasing their revenue - despite what they might say to the general public.

Every MMO dies eventually. Those associated with EA usually die sooner that later

So you feel like you've done this before? Let me guess, you've played WoW? I got the same feeling.

That's probably the best post I've seen on these forums, "Why can't people make up their own minds?" Granted, researching before you buy is a good thing but keep in mind that people who are actually enjoying a game are probably playing it and not wasting time here.

I've already canceled so it's minus one. It's just not fun to me and too much like WoW (which I refuse to go back to). Don't get me wrong. I hope it's a hit - it's just not for me. I hate what WoW has done to MMO's.
