Nice - rule out part of your potential market from the get-go. There are some people that like mmo's for the social interaction but prefer not to group. But I imagine it's hard to make agmae that everyone likes. Doesn't really matter to me. I'm kind of tired of swinging a sword and fighting in dungeons anyway. |

Well a skill system that doesn't promote actually playing the game (1) sets everyone who didn't start from launch behind without the possiblity of catching up and (2) doesn't encourage people to play the game and (3) locks you in for as long as they want (because they can easily determine player progression). I'm glad people like this game. I hope it shows developers that not everyone is satisfied with WoW and that there are other opportunities to be had. EvE is a decent enough game but it's not for everyone. No game is. |

I agree that a change of pace from sword-swinging would be nice but didn't someone post this the other day? |

For an MMOG, it surely doesn't seem that way. I played for about a year (yes I admit it) and the player interaction is quite lacking. Sure you can chat with others in your corp, but there's not much more than that unless you hang out in a noob sector and then there's nothing to do there. I really don't understand why others say this game has such a great community - it has NO community! The graphics are cool but they have to be because you're gonna have a lot of time to look at them |

Carufin, I read your post in "This genre is going nowhere!". Perhaps your post here is a little too eloquent, but I agree with you whole-heartedly. You bring up some great points on the state of current MMORPGS. IMO, the besat MMORPGS I've played encourage social interaction but are not limited by the lack of it when it's not there. I don't suspect I'll see a change in the current state of MMORPGS for a while because it is, after all, all about $$$ or ISK if you still play EVE. |

I agree with all the posts here. MMORPGS are losing my interest due to the same old stuff over and over. The medieval theme has been played so much I almost won't even look at a new game with this setting. So what's a developer left to do? I don't know, but rehashing the same old stuff does not garner my interest. IMO MMORPGS are approaching the realm of EA's carbon copy Madden Football that replicates itself year after year. I mean good lord, if you've played one Madden football, you've played them all. |

Yeah the end-game did leave me going "What now?" for a while. But I attribute that to EA's cutbacks and WW having to up and move everything to EA's shop. I quit playing a couple of times for other games but always found my way back to EnB. I wanna go fishing again |

I hope it's moving away from medeival-based MMORPGS. I'm so tired of dungeons and wizards and elves and munchkins... I mean dwarfs. |

I'm not knocking DNL (I actually know little about it), I'm just curious why everyone is looking forward to this game so much. The screens look like most other MMORPGS on the market. What makes DNL so anticipated? |

ROFLMAO! EA offered EnB subscribers a migration path to the SIMS! LOL!! Can't blame them for trying I guess. What a joke of a company. |

Count me in!! I'm so tired of fighting trolls and elves it's rediculous! I miss my ship. Ya ya Eve this Eve that, they're not even close to being similar. I beta'd Eve and played after launch for a while. Eve is like a job. EnB was just good 'ole fun. The EnB community is what it made the game really cool to me. The market channel was ALWAYS entertaining LOL |

I agree with all the posts here. You have to decide for yourself. But my experiences were this. I beta's EQ2 and played both since launch and have since given up on both - still looking for my EnB replacement =). I started out in EQ2 but became frustated with the amount of group involvment it took. So I stopped playing EQ2 for WoW. I maxed out a couple times in Wow and was just bored with it. Wow too has a lot of group raids and time spent (MC) to get cool gear but it is far easier to level or play solo in WoW. Both are good games, they just didn't hold my attention beyond a few months. I guess if I had to choose, I prefer WoW - don't really know why but I do. But neither comes close to EnB! I'm so tired of trolls and elves it's not even funny. |
