There are no female greenskins. Really, though, there are no female greenskins. Greenskins are monsters, they have no gender and grow for spores. They look sort of masculine though. But asking if a greenskin in female is sort of like saying "Hey, do you think that blob of ooze is a girl blob of ooze." There are no male witch elves, or at least no male equiviliant. There aren't going to be any female chosen. This because chosen have all sorts of weird mutations that require lots of art. There's been much protest on this subject though. Personaly, I'd rather there be no male chosen. There are female witch hunters, (male ones too), duh. There are female dwarfs too. |

Why are you so dedicated to housing? Guild Halls are the same thing, but they're social, so they're better for an MMO anyway. Housing would be cool, but there's so many other things that would be cooler. I'd rather the Devs not be pestered into building a place where anti-socials can hide away from the digitial world. |

It sort of depends on what you mean by "replace". In spirit, getting a bunch of people together to do cool things, yeah I guess PQ does replace raids. Mecanically, Capitial Raids replace WoW Style Raids. But you don't have to worry about recruiting for those either since it's the entire end-game content. There's also a few PvE raids, but since you don't have to PvE, they aren't manditory. Capitial Raids will drop gear as powerful as PvE Raid Gear anyway. I have to agree with you though, I do like this whole "We developers should find ways to get players to play content! They shouldn't have to find it themselves!" approach. |

The reason why there are no female Orcs in WAR is because WAR sticks to it's lore. It's the first MMO where story is really important! Hurray! What really concerns me is that you want to drag things from your old game to your new game. WoW is generalised for the masses. It's polished to prefection to sell the most copies. An example of this is female orcs. But Warhammer actually has story and symbolism, and all that poet BS. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Same thing goes with RvR. If you don't like war, don't buy WAR. The Devs themselves have made that clear. I like their honesty. |

The Devs have promised that the game will be less about gear and more about skills. So if they keep that promise, then yes it will. It's hard to say for certian until the game is released though. |

Did you actually bother to look at the game's website, it's feature list, look at some of the development videos. Mythic is a company that actually putts out info on it's games, unlike some which leave it to forum users to dig up dirt on it. The biggest draw for WAR is it isn't just about killing hundreds of NPCs, and getting a shinny new sword. You have territories to conquer. Yes, AoC does have conquerable cities, but these are player made. Player-made stuff isn't as detialed and intricate as stuff that isn't. Look up the Squig Powered Lift in the video blogs for an example. There's no way there's going to be anything that cool in AoC's cities. Next there's the lore. WoW is a Warcraft Clone. (<proven fact) You just can't beat the lore of Warhammer, it's probably the best Fantasy out there. And the lore is actually interigrated into the game. You've only seen World of Warcrap, which is made by a company who makes their money by ripping of other people's stuff. You really have to see a company that actually takes what's written about a background and integrates it into a game to appreciate it. Lastly, take a look at Paul's damn video blogs. They'll sell the game better than any of us could. The one with the boxes is my favorite, but that really have nothing to do with the game. |

The game's theme is RvR, so taking away the other faction would be like taking away the mob NPCs from other games (WoW for example.) But you misunderstand WAR. RvR is not about PvP, it's about competition. If the Dwarfs are building a bridge, you're knocking it down. Sometimes you fight PCs, sometimes you fight NPCs but you're always in competition with the other side. You do not need to PvP at all in this game. PvE doesn't need to be seperated out from PvP because they're already seperate. But they work in a symbiotic fashion. It's pretty cool, you can be PvEing, be completely out of PvP, look across the river and see people PvPing. Your PvE contributes to RvR and everything. AND, CAPITIAL RAIDS ARE NOT ALL PVP. They've already said there's PvE to it. So there you go. Just like promised, YOU CAN PVE THE WHOLE GAME AND NEVER HAVE TO PVP. So there's no need for segragation. Martin Luther King showed us that. |

WoW was never a PvP MMO. I could give a 100 reasons why WoW sucks as a game, starting with the con artist company that made it. Anyway, WAR doesn't have Battlegrounds, so I don't need to. WoW Battlefields weren't balanced right anyway, and the game was never set up for PvP. RF Online was made in Korea. Anyone with MMO common sense could of told you it would fail. |

Originally posted by Drekor Darkfall has been "ready to move into beta stages" for years. If it every does, then you can seriously bring it up into conversation. AoC's graphics will severally limit large PvP. Most people just don't have the computer power to do that. While Built Cities are cool in their own right, they probably won't be as detial as the pre-rendered cities in WAR. If you look at past games, it's always been like that and I haven't seen AoC claim to add a large ammount of detial to them. Not everyone enjoys FFA combat. In WAR you know who your allies are, and you don't have to take hours to form alliances before getting into PvP. You can just say "Hey, you're a Dwarf. Let's go fight greenskins!" Seiges might be really cool. They might suck. I think it's all in implimentation, which won't be revealed until AoC comes out. But I never liked how AoC's devs keep their mouthes clothed as much as possible. AoC's Combat is the same way. It could be really cool. It could be broketastic. WAR isn't level based. Yes, you "level up", but when you do so it's skilled based. As opposed to this "I use my 'swing sword' skill 23 three times! Yay, skill up!" I think you need to read up on WAR before you claim over-hype. Yeah, this interveiw was a little braggy, but the game has a lot of new features with good mentality behind them. |

If I remember right, they just started Elven Development last month. The best place to find a screenshot of them would probably be in the next news letter. Race by Race development sort of sucks, but I think it's mostly because it's still early in dev. |

I think EVE abuses the Sci-Fi concept a little too much in order to create an intheior product. I mean, look at combat. I'll admit, most MMOs don't have that great of a combate system but in EVE you get three choices, you can move closer, you can move farther away, or you can stay in place. Then you get some guy trying to defend the game "But you have to stay in optimial range for your weapons!" BLAH BLAH BLAH! Foward, Back, Stay. Lame. I'd really like to see something where you actually have to point your ship and it's guns at the other ship. Maybe make the target box kind of big so that it's not so clicky or FPS. And maybe let people steer their own ships, explore the 360 degrees that space gives you. But I think the biggest slap in the face in EVE of all is that hardly any of the planets are explorable. I mean, can you name one sucsessful Sci-Fi book, show, movie or anything at all where 95% of it is just "Wee! I'm flying through space! Look at me going from one planet to another, breifly stoping, and then going back again!"? ... |

You do know that the Warcraft IP is just a watered down, ripped off version of the Warhammer IP right. Or let me put it this way, Warcraft is to Fantasy to "Wangster" is to rap. Warhammer is to Fantasy what "OG" is to rap. The only reason where you'de ever get a Wangster, confused with someone like Docter Drey, Tupoc Shakur or DMX is if you knew next to nothing about rap. Most WoW kiddies know next to nothing about Fantasy. |

I don't get why people think a sucsessful company who's already made one MMO will go out and change all their sucsessful mechanics, replacing them WoW facimilies. Especially the crapiest parts of WoW. The game is pitched as pretty much being ablt to do what you want. They've said you can PvE or PvP the entire game without ever having to do the other one(but it's easier to just do both). There's a lot of RvR. You're always opossing the other side. If you're building a bridge, they're trying to tear it down. The goal of the game is to capture zones. When your side captures a zone the scenery will change to reflect it. So if you're chaos, maybe tenticals will grow out of hte buildings. The thing that contributes most to Zone Capture is Scenarios, instanced PvP. WoW left a lot people with a bad taste in their mouth for instanced PvP, but WAR looks like it will have a lot of improvement on the area. For one, the objectives have a point. You aren't just "Capturing the Flag" for the sake of capturing the flag, your securing a point for your side to seige, or killing someone and taking the artifact they had on hand or slaying a Dwarf who just crashed his gyrocopter. Secondly, WoW had 3 instances, WAR has 33. Then there's the use of NPC for ballance, so you aren't waiting hours for your turn. But, I really don't get what you're trying to ask here. If I missed answering your question, could you please rephrase it, I'll be happy to reanswer that question RvR or specifically PvP Rvr? Will have a little of both. Skirmishing(Seeing an enemy player and randomly attacking them), Objectives(Something in the field that acts as mecca for PvP that the two sides fight over), and Scenarios will all being included. In each zone there's a PvP area and a non-PvP area. It's not like WoW where you have to go to a hole other zone, and PvP is a lot more common and purposeful than WoW, but it's not open PvP. Yes there's PvE(If it was in DAoC, why wouldn't it be in WAR?). Yes there's questing, they just put a videoblog up about it. They haven't said much about crafting. They put one short video up on it saying something like "We aren't ready to reveal it yet, but it will be the best thing ever". I don't think any of your other questions will be answered Pre-release.

1. It's hard to know unless you've played the game, not to mention the fact that anything in Beta can be changed. I'd say probably to auto-attack and definitely to auto-aim. So far they've claimed to have more lateral leveling system with more skills rather than just "higher leveled" skills. CoH is a good example of a lateral system. Vertical is when you have Fireball 1, then you get fireball 2, then you get uber-fireball which all do pretty much the same thing with different damage. I'd say it's too early to judge comabt. The coolest things I've heard though are the Squig Hearder's giant rolly squig(there's an offical video blog of it on the website, look it up) and how Dwarf Engineers fight. Dwarf Engineers are mainly ranged attackers, but a lot of their heavy attack are mid-range so they have to run up and risk melle to preform them. The example in the video of this was a grenade. I might just like grenades though. 2. Look at the screen shots for yourself. Also, I wouldn't throw thing under (just) thecatagories of realistic or cartoonish. It's too early in Beta to know much about customisability. We do know thouh that each tier(5 groupings that replace "Levels" in WAR) has it's own armor. Higher teirs have more impressive armor and that there's armor you can get from special events(<not raiding events, there are no required PvE raids in WAR) that set you apart from the rest of the pack. They've also promised the ability to stick parts of your enemy(specifically their skulls) onto your armor as trophies. 3. Has any game, in the history of MMOs, ever come out and said "Yes, we're item centric. We have lots of required PvE raids." Dude, that's really something you have to wait till release to say. The WAR Devs have promised that it will be more about player skill than who has what itmes though, so it depends on howm uch you trust their words. 4. There's 4 classes per race. Each Class is unique to that race. Some people put them into catagories(DPS, Ranged attacker, Mage), I think it makes them seem like clones of each other, when they really aren't. Versitility is something you'll have to wait and see for. The Devs are promising that it's going to be like collage, where you have your majors(the things that define your class like Melle Attack or Ranged Magic), the secondaries which kind of relateto your class but nopt everyone will have, then elective which are like fun things. I think you really shoudl look at some primary sources(The offical website :cough: :cough:) and form your own opinions. 5. It's RvR Based. From day one you'll be struggling against the other side. That's the theme of it so to say. If your just looking for something more story based than most MMOs, I'd look elsewhere but it's not going to be a sociol grind either. I think yo ushould look at the Dev blogs(Especially Paul's Video Blogs) for what the gameplay will be like. Long story short. Look at the offical damn website, NOOB! |

Item based is a bag word useage for what your asking. "Item Variety" would probably better. Most MMOers take "Item Based" to mean "If I have good sword, you have bad sword. I will always win, even if I only autoattack. Unless you have Uber-armor from that 50 man raid, of course." Anyway, will WAR have a nice item variety? Who knows. The Tabletop Stratagy game does though. Especially for Heroes and Champians((Which are the character proffesions of the MMO)) So, being a betting man, I'd bet yes. There are no real facts to back that up though, I don't think they've even started on the loot for anything but astesics. It's a wait and see thing. |

Not to sound cliche, but it's way too appropriate here: If you don't like the game design, don't play it. They're aren't going to throw in item desturction just because you made one post. In fact, I don't even see your point. The game will be not pointless, because you stuff can be destroyed? Wtf? Btw, your stuff can be destroyed in WoW. Now capturing your enemies capital AND DEFICATING OPON EVERYTHING THERE! Or having it grow tenticals. Or forcing everyone there in brothels. That's rewarding gameplay. |

First of all, nothing is worth that wait. Go out and live, get a girlfriend or something. If you feel like you've 'latched on' to a game, you've already lost. Next, you shouldn't expect anything but hack, slash, heal and buff from the MMO genre. It's what the MMO genre is. Maybe the formula will change, but it probably won't. Even then, sometimes it changes for the worse(EVE's repetitive arse gameplay). If you're hoping for somethign different, you're a lot better off with looking for another game. The Warhammer RTS just came out you know? What the hell makes you think the setting is going to waist? Would you rather the game be WoW+a Warhammer mod. I mean, you want to talk repetitive, that's repetitive. Personally, if Mythic starts talking 'figures' and 'well if our vision doesn't work out...', that's when you know it's time to ditch the game. ANY product that isn't whole heartly supported by it's Dev, from MMOs to toothpaste, is going to be crap. I really don't see what you expect from PvE either. Most PvE is 'Kill 10...' or 'Gather 20...' quests. The best PvE I've ever seen is City of Villians, which essentually "Run through Dungeon X and kill the boss". MMOs aren't Oblivion, they aren't Final Fantasy, their PvE isn't that great. I don't see why you think there's a lack of PvE either. A magority of the zone is PvE. The first half of the game is mostly PvE. The Devs have promised that you can play pure PvE throughout the entire game and never have to PvP. Stop attacking PvP. You have your chunk of the game, deal with it. Don't get me wrong I would love to see more RPG elements in MMOs, but PvE/=/RPG Yeah, by the way, there is something with PvE and WAR style action. It's called WAR. |

Personaly, I decided to take a 'wait and see' approach once EA became involved. They don't seem to have impacted development at all so far. If anything they may have speed it up. I think if you look at EA Mythic's work, it'll speak for itself that there's nothing to worry about. |

I'm mostly just trying to say that there will be things for the "behind the scenes" type people, or even people who want to stop and just do PvE for a little while. You make them sound like an abused minority. I think you're misreading and warping that scenario info. I'm pretty sure he said that to be thematic, not to make an anti-PvE statement. |
