Well lets see. I work as a Marketing Director in a norwegian company, and as a hobby i train, go out with friends and play games. Hmmm seems you are wrong here. I have both.

Dont bother. During this year the game will be dead and servers will be ghost towns.

And what have the mmo developers learned? Yes they have learned not to release unfinished games. Maybe the community needed this wake up call.

The problem isnt that you guys like Vanguard. You dont give a crap about bad reviews or bad awards or anything. Because... well you like the game.

The problem is new subscribers who read those reviews and awards. They are the ones buying something else. Which leads to no new blood ingame.

Sad isn't it?

Its as you said. Its not you, you have done all that in other games. No, you died from bad design....

I'm sorry, but whoever reviewed and gave Vanguard the game of the year award at GSA wants to be strung up by whatever genitalia they have. If thats what the reviewer thinks was the best game release of 2007 then i for one do not blame any software pirates copying any games during last year what so ever.

 

Even now the game doent look like it has changed much at all. I find myself hard pressed to even click the game launcher and i have only used 1-2 hrs of the free month they gave out to come back and have a look to see whats changed, not bloody much i can tell you.

I have the same system as you Thillian and ran it without any troubles the last time. Its not hardware related why some people decide to not play Vanguard. Its the game! Its simply very bad and unpolished. It should be in beta still. but somehow people have decided to pay to beta this game.

For instance take a look at APW. They released it too soon (again). And now everyone is beta testing it LIVE!. How cool is that....

oh oh, a negative post on VG. I can already hear the vanboys come galopping in to save the last drop of dignity. Other than that I totally agree with you. The game lacks a finish polish in every aspect. And yes, the Arial font everywhere ingame is horrible

Now if they just let Randolf stay ingame, they dont have to give you flying mounts right?

I have tried it. 3 times since release  have been back to give it a chance. Was it worth it? Not yet. Maybe in a year, maybe in 2. However you are all waiting and paying for a dream.

Im not spending money on dreaming, I do that every night (almost).

Take a deep breath and look at how Vanguard was at release. Then think about this:

Question: Why did Microsoft bail out?

Answer: They knew this was a bad product which was going nowhere. I call it a smart move by MS! Kudos! They flushed 30 mill down the drain. Thats how bad they figured Vanguard was ;)

Seradon is the most popular server I guess. When I left Halgar was a ghost town. I know what they should do!!!

Im so against creating a Trial Isle in any game. I mean what the hell is the point? In EQ2 it was like playing a different game in the beginning. It worked like this:

1. Download the Trial Isle
2. Damn this game rocks
3. Buy the game
4. Now play a different game than the Trial

No, the trial should simply be a 7 day trial or a trial that lasts until you hit level 10 or something in the real world.

Trial island....pfft horrible idea!

Also try this:

1. Right click the shortcut
2. Choose properties
3. Choose compatability
4. Check the "Run as administrator" if it can be done

Vista is weird with this. You should also do this on all program files in the Vanguard installation folder. Also be sure to right click the Vanguard folder and make sure that something in there isnt Write protected.

If none of this works just deinstall it
