MMOs are all grind fests... In the free ones all there is to do is to grind. In p2p ones you get grind mixed in with other stuff...

But if u want some fun stuff then try GW, CoH/V, and if you think you can handle the complexitiy or like sci fi then EVE.

Maybe even give Everquest 2 or LOTR a try.

Or be like me and wait for Warhammer/AoC w/o hyping it up to the point of dissapointment.

Yep best feeling ever... pulling that noob PUG into a decent run in any game is the most rewarding, and greatest feeling of skill

Yep I agree its horrible game for noobs, to me noobs = people that want instant reward for little work. Eve is a very complicated game and every decision you do has a consequence. You cant just get into the game, do dumb shyt and then expect to go through the rest of the game as if you didn't curse out an entire channel or ninja looted stuff.

Lol people forget why there is a price on MMO's... its for content... Free CoH = No reason to add content and theyll lose customers, money, and then the people that do play will be playing CoV...

Really free MMOs are crap. Thats why they are free, because they arne't good enough to generate money. You want a free orpg (close as a MMO your gonna get) go buy guild wars cheap bastard

Why not both? Find a mature guild in WaR out of game and then play with them in game... It's not like WoW is full of immature people.... just they say the dumbest things and you remeber them more then the intelligent ones....

Im not rich but middle class and work pretty hard for the little amount of money, and have plenty to keep 2 active MMOs and play some other sorts of games. I like to play w/e i feel like. And yes the battlefield is very fun accept for the dolphin divers... But yes I don't see how people can play some of these MMOs for so long

These 2 posts above me or geniuses. Good idea with that tie in to WC4... I don't think a company has ever tried it, yet all us fans think of crazy stuff (yet cool) like that.
And yes please no more generic fantasy grinding games.

I think (prey that blizzard wont turn evil) blizzard won't put out any MMO besides WoW's x-pacs for at least 4 years. They need to go back and make a SC RTS... No ghost, no MMO... RTS with updated graphics, story, units. Hell this is coming from someone that wasnt even a SC fanboy, but did enjoy the game.

Youll have lots to learn... I don't think the tutorial even teaches you 1/10 of the stuff thats possible... The interactive tutorial will get better (Players)

I don't see anything wrong with wow's graphics... I always thought that was Warcraft visual style... cartoonish... Also one of the reasons for WoWs success is its easyiness and low reqs...

I don't get why people cry about "cartoony or terrible graphics" then they get a game thats impossible for them to handle and cry about the game being too powerful. Isn't gameplay more important and graphics should be looked at 2nd.

Well then WC3, Diablo 2, and SC are all mmos... in their chat rooms you can talk to people from each of those games. The thing with Guild Wars its not a mmorpg. Not because you don't have to pay. Not because you dont have to grind to a high level. Not because you don't have sucky pvp. Not because you have instanced gaming. But because like someone already said... the massiveness you get is at the town which is a chat room with the games engine.

I played GW once and its not my cup of tea, I couldn't get into it, but bored till AoC or WAR comes out.  So im not a hater.

But in other mmos in town, you can tell everyone to go outside or travel way across the map and you'll be able to interact with them. You can bring your entire guild for a skirimish against another group in the actual world. Its more about the interaction with other people rather then chatting or interacting with a few.

Is GW a mmorpg? Most, including myself, say no.
Is GW a good game? Many people like it and I heard has the best PVP, so most likely it is

Please name MMOs that are better... I do need something till AoC or Warhammer

People say this and that is better... But WoW did do a lot right... Maybe most of the haters are people that dont like things that are popular just so they can be considered diffrent and unique lol. But because you don't like it anymore doesn't mean it sucks now.

Please... do not mention FF11, CoH/V, Guild wars(That is not a MMO for the last time).
Acceptable answers: Eve, Daoc, Everquest(s), and anything other....
I will reply and try to see your PoV in a unbiased light

I am one of the WoW fans see its not the holy grai of MMO... but dammit its a fun game!

I just say don't be mad that your WoWed out and now you regret you spent your whole life raiding, and then a expansion came out and now your no longer the most powerful person. Lmao. I like wow, no where near a fan boy. Its a good game, right now eve and this has me. Until AoC comes out of course.

Well actually PS was somewhat of a success... When I used to play there was a hell of a lot of players... But I dunno if SOE is cursed or what, but they always introduce shit to turn away their subs... I'd say about 40% of people liked BFRs... That Core Combat crap or w/e was called... Id say about 10-15% liked it. Also there just wasn't enough "free updates". Look at about every other MMO... they introduce more things then just nerfs in their updates.

I don't know if its just a coincedence that SOE games get screwed over by lack of patches/get patches that ruin the game, or if they have a hand in what content is added... But I do try to stay away from their games.

Please please people. Eve is not for everyone. But the guy that said mining and missions, you don't have to think... Well actually you do. Yes you can just go anywhere and kill or mine. But you'll probably die in a few seconds. You must know what rats you are fighting to know what type of stuff you want to throw on your ship. Also you must know what asteroids fields are worth it and what are not. You must understand at first you have to get the crap minerals because they are safe, and later on when you get into some mining ops or more skill points you can hit the hard stuff.

Also the biggest thing it seems to me about EVE, is that if you don't plan out your career (And somewhat important[exactly what skills you want])) then you'll waste a lot of time and do stuff that doesn't benefit you at all.

If you do plan on trying it out, like someone else said do the tutorial, it helps a lot. And then join the help channel and the community is more then willing to help you out. And know that until you get higher up into skill points you'll be either mining or running missions for isk(money).

I'd say just go to eve-online.com and find there noob guide/

Oh and if you didn't know there is no levels, skill points are learned which takes time so you can "level" while your offline.

Theres so much stuff in the game too, so if you like deep games then play this. Hate to say it but if you want to play "shallow" games then play WoW or something else.

Good luck

Waiting for: AoC of course and warhammer like everyone else... But people really should stop bashing other games and just have their fun.

1) No you wont struggle, but you won't be as good as the people all geared up
2) Nope every server has BC but actually having the BC game, your only missing out on the dungeons, jewel crafting, the new races, and outland. Oh and 70
3) Yes and by the time you make resub they'll prob have a set of new servers
4) Well the old raiding dungeons and stuff you did have taken a back burner to the new stuff. I'm not 60 or 70, but i notice people are LFG/LFM for the newer dungeons then trying to party for the old stuff. Makes sense, why do old instances with crap gear, when you can do brand new instances with much better gear and possible attunement for better instances.

I have a wow sub but rarely play it, but I still think its the best overall mmo still. Eve is taking up all my time and is a great game but I think WoW is like the MMO king for right now.
And no im not a wow boy or anything, i have a neutral perspective unlike many people on here.

(Waiting for AoC and Warhammer... although scared of Warhammer being full of tired WoWs community)
