That is strange, I wouldn't worry too much, as long as it's not a bios problem with the card it should be fine.

Obviously, you only have 512mb memory though :)

And what are "living" guilds anyway?

HAha - You criticise the OP, then show you know NOTHING about Warhammer.  Back to AOC with ya.

Comic genius.

They know the true state of the game, they are the developers.

I am not sure where you got this idea from but that beta testing is NOT 'just' for testing server load.

That is called stress testing, and that is the final stages of open beta normally.

The other 95% of beta is concerned with bugs, gameplay mechanics and feedback or all kinds.

Mythic have made direct and wide sweeping changes based solely on beta feedback and test data.

I am not sure if they are planning a delay I think they were just trying to quash some of the negativity about the cuts, by saying don't worry if this doesnt pan out we will throw some classes in and if we need to delay a little to get em right we will.

I think they are not planning a delay and are failry commited to an early Fall release IMO.

Mark Jacobs restated the fact that if the game needs new classes to fill the gap after the cuts, and needs more time to complete these new classes then they would still have the option to delay the game.

Well, I can tell you this much regarding the changes we announced today:

1) The cities are better than they would have been if we didn't make this change. They have so much more cool stuff in them and they really are something quite special.

2) The classes we removed weren't cutting it. By removing classes that wouldn't have worked well at launch we will have fewer problems and issues to deal with after we launch. That will make for a better experience for the player.

3) If the way the realms are set up now do not work in this next stage of beta, we will find a way to make them work by either working with the existing classes or delaying the game again until we find a way to make it work with new or modified classes.

4) I've always said that this game will ship when it's great, I've never said it will only ship if it has 24 classes, 6 cities, 5210 quests, etc. Nothing has changed about that. If the game is great and ready to be launched, it will be launched. If it isn't, it will be held back.

5) As to WAR still being great for PvP players, I hope that what we've done will make it better for PvP players, not worse. A PvP player wants to, of course, PvP. If the fronts were too spread out, the city sieges too long in between occurrences, etc. PvP players would be the most disappointed. Frankly, I think these changes will make the RvR action in WAR more intense and city sieges happen more often. If we're wrong, we'll fix it before we launch.

6) We are in the process of opening new servers and letting in tens of thousands of people in this next stage of beta. If we didn't have faith in the game, that is the last thing we would do. It's because we have this faith, buoyed by the feedback we've been getting in beta so far, that I know WAR will be a great game when it's done.

As always, wait to see what happens and draw your own conclusions from what you see.

Mark

90% permanently cut.  They recently added that they may introduce new classes before launch if balance issues occur during the remaining beta.

They also said that if balance issues occur and they need more time to introduce more classes they WILL delay release.

OP you are completely wrong and  you know it.  If you don't know it read many threads in this post for an education in how War is NOT headed for a meltdown.

You are a tiny tiny uninformed minority.

Confirmed the Mod at Tentonhammer made it up.  The cities will not be in after all.

If this turns out to be the case, and I honestly can't say that I was given any indication that it is, then it contradicts what I was told in my interview.

You got the interview almost entriely in Mark's words. For example: “We wanted to make our Capital Cities the best cities in any MMO. We think we’re doing that, but it came at a price and that price is that the other cities aren’t going in the game right now.”

If they've changed their minds since I spoke to Mark, that's one thing, but what exactly would I have to gain from putting out false infromation?

Hope that qualifies as a "full explanation" of doing my job.

Thank you for that post.   It just would of been good to actually have the direct quotes to either substantiate  Mythic's position or show that they, in fact did a U-turn.

If true I think this shows a complete U-Turn, not just a misinterpretation by the entire community.

All Cities are in at release according to a new interview being posted at Tentonhammer this weekend.

Someone needs to lose their job over this.  Either at Mythic or someone who interviewed them.

Jacobs just confirmed that RadarX of Tentonhammer was lying.  The cities WILL NOT be in after all.  So much for trusting Tentonhammer Mods.  christ.

First of all Punkbuster - Great idea, I have always been a fan of punkbuster and have always supported it in other online games, it's about the best option you can have for cheat protection and has the option of hardware bans as well as IP bans.  Nothing will ever be perfect but punkbuster is as close as you can come to keeping up with the latest hacks etc so good on them for this one.

Cities - I have always thought that to have 2 large capital cities is better than having multiple cities anyway.  This turns the battles for those cities even MORE epic is scale and importance.  Fully support this decision.

Classes - Disappointing, but a very mature decision by Mythic to do this and announce it at this stage.  Shows they are in it for the long term and continue their degree of honesty with the potential fanbase.  As much as we may not want to hear it, I would prefer they did this now than throw the classes in half done like some other recent games we could mention.

-In summary they made the mature and correct decision, and props to them for announcing this now to the public and explaining their reasons.  Whatever backlash they receive because of this, would be nothing compared to the problems and bad press that would occur had they not done this and left unfinished classes and cities in at release.

Who picked a dumb name like Asda, an MMO named after a supermarket? lol did they do NO research at all about the name.

Soon we will see Tesco story but of course it will be a clone of Asda story just slightly better quality and shelf life.

If they spent half as much time or "man hours" investing into bettering their game as they did moderating and playing "damage control" on forums, they may actually make fair progress on the game.  As unpopular as it may be to some, I almost think it would be in their better interest to shut down their forums for a month and dedicate full man power to the game itself.  Not like they need the forum to know what is wrong with the game at this point.  They have more than enough problems reported to kep them busy more than that month.  Without the full effort tho, their destructive cycle will continue.

I'm all for improving the game, it has issues that need to be worked out, but I would like to point out that the people who actually do the developing on the game are different from the people doing moderation on their forums. Shutting down the forums wouldn't shift any manpower over to development.

People have used the argument that the game was rushed out due to financial reasons (No one has proof of it, bu it is one of the many unfounded arguments people have raised against the company) As Funcm is being rather closedabout things, it is more in their interest to keep speculation and negativity to a minimum.

Actually there is plenty of truth including a direct statement from the Developers stating that they have to release the game due to financial pressures.  It's not unfounded check out the interview at one of the game conventions there is a video of it kicking around.  They admitted they have to release due to financial pressures - that's a fact not an argument or rumour.  You need to do more research before spouting that rubbish.

Ah but official forums are fantastic sources of amusement.  Half the fun of a game is reading all the crap on the official forums.  Keep em I say, it's part of the enjoyment lol

Agreed, I think the obsession with fantasy stems from the fact alot of the earlier Devlopers came from Pen and Paper RPG when they were younger and the genre has therefore been mostly based on this.

But the fact is the biggest and most popular Films, have always been sci-fi related, and the general public as a whole are much more familiar with Sci-Fi products and IPs than they are with Fantasy.

The problem is we have had very little in the way of quality Sci-Fi MMOs, this has dampened the enthusiasm of potential MMO devlopers who wanted to go the Sci-Fi route.  Their marketing slaves have told them oh no, don't go Sci-Fi look at what happened to (Insert crappy Sci-Fi MMO)*

I am hoping that Earthrise will break the trend and this will open the floodgates for developers to jump on the Sci-Fi wagon and give us what we really want, a Quality, in-depth Sci-Fi MMORPG.

Warhammer will be my last fantasy based MMO, after that I just cannot stand to look at another elf or dwarf.

EQ, Horizons, EQ2, SWG, WoW, Vanguard. Some still have great Crafting but have been dumbed down so much that it's better to just collect now.

/sigh.    I want EQ as a Single player but with all the Goodies before PoK. Hell i will take all the SOE games and Horizones as single Player games as  long as thay have the Crafting in them........I just miss the Good Old days................

I really don't think you can possibly list WOW and Vanguards crafting in the same sentence.  Vanguard is one the best and most in depth crafting systems ever to have existed and WoWs crafting is a total joke and should not even be called crafting.

If you had ever tried Vanguard crafting you would know better than to call it 'dumbed down', its far more n depth than EQ2 for starters.
