This game will never be big because its TOO damn repetitive, the rest of the game is fun. I love playing ti for about 3 weeks then its complete boredom. Not enough variety of content, and the Devs are too lazy to add anything to a relatively old game like this. |

I really don't 'GET' why you think WoW screenshots look so good, it's beyond my understanding how you can like WoW shots but not like WAR, since WoW is based off WAR the design is very simi8lar just older than WAR. You have a strange way of looking at graphics if you find WoW shots somehow better. Very strange. |

Funny, I can't find a single PC gaming chart with AOC still near the top. Guess they are referring to old charts to make it sound better. |

AOC is the exact opposite of the definition and spirit of sandbox. Everything that is sandbox AOC is not. |

They don't care as much about involved quests, affecting the world, or sandbox type play over time. THey don't want slow play-pace, they want lots of sparkaly rewards, pretty graphics and will grind to get them. It's not about right or wrong, it's about what you and your friends grew up with and want from a game now. Also remember that alot of players in asia do so in cyber-cafes. Mmo's are not a solitary experience, they're a communal gathering where friends hang out... like a ton of lan-parties. In some respects it's more healthy, but it also means they want simpler rewards for simpler tasks and want to enjoy the comradery of playing with friends less then the escapism of immursive solo play.

Yeah so funny that post honest. It's funny to watch fanbois kiss each others ***** on AOC official forums and pretend to each other that the whole world is wrong apart from them. Helps them feel better in the short term, but along with everyone else they will see what crap this game is. 'Hype' has a way of influencing the weak minded a bit longer than everyone else. |

YES, AOC is having an effect on LOTR, its causing the population to rise due to people cancelling their AOC accounts and looking for an alternative polished game. The more boxes AOC sell the more dissapointed players will come to LOTR. |

[quote "It could use more gameplay variety, particularly outside of combat, and the action was plagued with noticeable bugs in the early days after release." Sorry but anyone that states the above and still rates a game 8/10 loses ALL credibility as a serious reviewer. He's obviously been persuaded to give this game a high rating.

Also the PC version was dumbed down for Xbox from the start not later, allowing for a simple port. |

You are perhaps forgetting an important part, MMO graphics aren't sub-prime because that's the best they could do, they are sub-prime because of the market they are aimed at and the wide range of technical specifications they must cater to. AoC is a perfect example of a company aiming too high and disappointing vast swathes of customers, when they have to turn the settings down to WoW levels of details just to help eliminate lag. If you want the best gaming graphics dont buy an MMORPG buy a single player/small zone FPS game. Very few MMOs have better graphics than LOTR, in fact the only one that comes close is AoC which is null and void for the above reasons. |

Excellent News!!! Ryzom was one of the BEST MMOs EVER created for sandbox and atmosphere. A thing of beauty.
I was in awe when I first tried this game, the 'feeling' of the game is very unique and has been said before Ryzom has a soul that other games lack. |

Initial sales mean NOTHING... if you can't see that OP you're beyond help. The only that matters, and I assure you , the only thing that matters to funcom is subscription retention. Time you learnt something about the MMO industry. |

Do you think everyone is stupid or something? Who in their right mind would buy a game where you have to progress to level 50 before you the game becomes any good? Not only that but by every review I have ever read of AoC it is the exact opposite, after level 20 its downhill all the way to boredom. So leave out the lies please I feel embarrassed for you. The review was 100% spot on with my experiences and everyone I know, the ball is in Funcoms court right now to sort it out and quickly or they be lucky to hold onto an 80k sub rate after this month. |

As has been said, there is virtually no loading screens in the open world. There are instancing during the initial few tutorial levels after that the world is almost seemless. Buildings have loads, but they are basically instant on a normal PC. Its like open door walk in, count to 1 and you're in. Or put it another way, I dispise loading screens with a vengence and I have no problems at all enjoying LOTR. :) |
