I am fairly sure that the days of deleting old accounts in MMOs is no longer. I cannot think of a current MMO that has a policy of deleting old accounts. |

Christ - This game is still in alpha and won't be released for at least 2 years. How the hell can you come here and cry vapourware. That sort of thread should be reserved for the Darkfall forums, as of yet, we are not deluded. Although if I am still posting in these forums in 5 years time you have permission to flame Earthrise and call us all deluded fanbois. There are no gameplay videos because there is no game-to-play its not even coded yet to a level where you can run around in a functional environment. Go look up ALPHA TESTING then come back say sorry - LOL :) |

Welcome to the club that's growing larger everyday. Once you hit this point in your MMO 'career' you will really struggle to find one that will hold your attention for more than a few weeks/months. Unfortunately there is little you can do now, except wait around with the rest us for something special to be released. I have hopes for Warhammer as the RVR aspect I think will re-introduce some drama into my MMO gaming that I crave. Other than that, Earthrise sounds like it might be a change of direction and defintely one to watch. MMOs have alot of potential, it may be another 10 years before the genre really matures. By then I expect to see some incredible ideas and releases, until then I will try what sounds interesting and wait. :) |

Although I am not a fan of AoC in fact I think its garbage, I have to say, that so called article is the biggest load of crap I have ever read. Full of complete lies. There is no wayyyyyy!!! Funcom requires 500k monthly subscribers just to break even, it's complete fabrication. No MMO company in their right mind would project 500k monthly subscribers as an achiveable target and if they NEED 500k just to break even they wouldn't even launch the game. Sorry I hate AoC as much as the next man, but that article is just rubbish and written by a total moron and WoW fanbois. |

Industry norm' is about 35% retention rate after the initial release. Which in about 8 months will mean(if their lucky) about 120k - 170k stable subscription base. IMO.

Did the OP say dial up??? WTF! - who the hell still has dial up?? You can't even GET dialup connections anymore in the UK unless its through some backstreet dodgy independent cowboy and you'd have to look real hard to find. I'm amazed.
and to say that 'most MMO players have dial-up' he's living in a fantasy land or a time warp. |

Don't worry it will come back and bite Funcom in the ass. Players will quit AO out of frustration and then once the AoC numbers start tumbling next month they will be looking at each other and thinking "What have we done?? We screwed our loyal customers and bet everything we had on this crap game." Funcom believe their own hype and have gone all 'schoolgirl' on their shiney new game, soon they will be in the crap and realise they shouldn't of shafted their AO fanbase. |

I have to agree with everything you said, I am currently on a trial account and loving it. I have played basically every decent MMO ever released and at first I thought LOTR would be a bit too casual for my liking, but was won over by the environment, graphics and great content on offer. Much better game than I thought it would be, in fact I list it in my top 5 MMOs for enjoyment factor. I didn't really find the interface clunky, but perhaps that's due to me not coming from WoW and so have been used to interfaces that take slightly more effort? But I find as smooth and intuitive as anything else I can think of. I rate it 8.5/10 - great game that everyone should try I think they will pleasantly surprised. :)

Code worked fine thanks again :) after I was cheking out the subscription fees on european site I noticed there were also EU servers and saw this trial for EU. Hopefully others will give a try to, I am really enjoying it and plan to subscribe after trial expires. I would like to play on EU servers though, can anyone confirm if I have to purchase the EU version for EU servers or can I buy the download version from US and then play on EU with that version? |

WoW player throws a glass at a group of Orcs in the corner and shouts "Leeeeeeeroy Jenkins!!!!!" WAR player tries to dance to the jukebox but finds he doesn't have the emote! AOC player can't find the other 2 because he is in a seperate instance of the bar!

Using ONLY mouse for everything all the time, not only is that highly unusal but very very inefficient. If nothing else you should practise gaming a bit more or you will always be behind normal players in reaction and practicality. You can't type with a mouse, you can't cycle targets quickly, you can't interact with items while moving around, just silly to be this limited during gameplay and there's no reason for a game company to include a feature that 1 player out of 1000 may use, and while using it will limit their gameplay to a sub-par stantard. |

Fail.
1. Did not live up to half the hype (disappointing) 2. 'Revolutionary' Combat was a dumbed down (Xbox friendly) version of normal MMO combat. 3. Too small in every aspect of gameplay and exploration. |

Ah well all us jaded Vanguard ex-players will welcome the ex-AoC crowd into the fold of let down players. Of course if they had all listened to us before they would not be dissapointed - the whole situation was completely obvious to old Vanguard players because we had lived through the exact same thing and knew the signs and had heard it all before. Almost word for word from Funcom was the same crap put out by Sigil. You were warned. |
