Ah, there are doom-n-gloomers on every forum for every game.

They are like the insects beneath your feet. Irritating but ignorable.

I am having fun in AoC. Had fun in WoW and EQII and SWG and VG and EVE and so on. But, I think this game is better than those. But, that's me.

 To each their own.

What's with the hate, ndpunch? You not feelin' much love today?

I love the game. I liked playing WoW, LotRO and SWG.  Been thru many games and this one is pleasing to me.

Rpro, did you get to the mainland? Or are you talking Tortage?

No, I haven't either. That's why I'm asking. So far, I love the game.

The instances are there, yes. But, I love the way they are done. I've also done plenty of quests in daytime with groups.

Right now, I understand there not being a high level of social rp'ing going on due to every one trying to get off Tortage and onto the mainland. I'm that way, anyway.

Why do we have to let you know? (concerning Shannia)

I'm not having any troubles. Was, but not now.

That's fine you don't like the game...oh, well. There are detractors in every game. Just read the forums.

Don't base the social elements on Tortage by itself. I think most people (like me) are just trying to get to level 20 and get to the mainland.

I did run into a couple of quests that were 'kill 30 xxxx'. But, the story driven quests far outdistance that...from what I can tell. And some hints to newbies...make sure to advance that climb skill. Some quests require a climb skill. If an assassin, keep that Hide skill up. I keep it maxed every level.

Lag was horrible for a time for me. Changing video setting to medium and maxing system memory made a big difference.

I also dislike having to sit through the drowning/shipwreck scene. The first time was great but after that....need an escape. It took me like 5 created characters until I found one that I loved (Aquilonian Assassin).

Lighting was bad for character creation. The shadows didn't give you an honest representation of skin tone.

I also am a SWG freak from day 1 to CU. I agree with what you said about that also. I'm getting the same excitement in this game. So, the social aspect better be good once I get to the mainland or it might kill the game for me. I've been spoiled by SWG in that regard.

 That is pretty retarded.

I was hoping for alot less of these incidents in a mature rated game. But, it could be some 'adults' playing this game are adult in title only.

You wouldn't happen to be on the Mannanan server would you? If so, look Sieben up. An Assassin and loving it.

 Go to newegg.com.

Get a video card, power supply and more ram. Heck, get 4G of ram and at least an nVidia 8800 gt. Newegg usually has some deals on getting combos.

 LOL!

I'm not totally up on all that AoC has to offer, but I believe the crafted stuff will be alot better. Give the crafters time to up their skills and the nice stuff will come.

Let me know if you can't log in for tech support and I will try to find an answer for you.

That is, if I can get in. I couldn't last night.

Without trying to launch AoC, open up Task Manager and see if AoC application is running.

If it is, end it at Task Manager. Then try  launching again.

Are you able to get into the AoC forums?

What OS do you have? Is it up to date?

Try running the SimpleConfig executable to check for errors.

Is AoC running on Task Manager?

To patch try clicking on the ConanPatcher in the Age Of Conan folder.

I will be playing both. Both games have things that appeal to me. Two different games. But, I think I will enjoy them both.

I agree with Majestico. I thought the graphics were pretty cool. And I'm one of those loons that thinks graphics makes or breaks a game...the style not the crispness/realness.

I played a Champion also. I became bored with it, though. So I went back to my roots...Hunter.

Love the bow. Dual wield swords. It's just a pretty site to see the slaughter I impose on the forces of evil.

 I agree, great game.

Fanboi? Nope, just know a good game when I see it. I also enjoy WoW for certain reasons, TR for certain reasons and EQII for certain reasons. They all have something I like but I will say that LoTRO is probably the best of the lot.

 Until maybe AoC? I hope.

As long as I've visited this site, I had no interest in even reading about Darkfall. Now that I have, I will definitely be getting this game.

Very impressed with what I have read.

I really don't see a reason for evil races running amok causing all sorts of mischief. At least until the story advances to the days leading up to the battle for Helm's Deep.

Again when Sauron invades the lands of men.

But, I don't think I would like to see bands of Orcs running roughshod all over Hobbiton.

I plan on being a Dark Elf but if the Destruction pop is a great deal larger than the 'good guys' then I will reroll to the 'good-uns'.
