Havent bothred to read the review at all, it's clear that if someone rate this game 97%, they have ZERO credibility.

You give Funcom a 6/10 on the CS category.  For me when i was at school, 6/10 was the minimum passing rate.   Are you saying Funcom CS is passable ?  I hate reviews done by sites that are getting money from the same guy they are reviewing.   It's not credible.

After reading this thread, decided to give the game a try, havent played in like 3 years.  Register for the trial, downloaded the client and ...... found out AC don't work with Vista.   Check out the forum about the patching error i'm getting only to find out a dev saying they have NO plan on fixing the compatibility issues with Vista.

Too bad.

Fair review, 7.3 is a bit high though.  All the + are in the 1-20 zone which represent what, 5% of the time to reach 80, how come they give this 7.3, it deserves around 5-6 top.

It should be nominated for the biggest hyped game of the year that turned into the biggest pile of crap award.

Apparently many, many peoples not happy with the game are returning it to the retailers and get the game refunded.   That would'nt be a problem with most games, but this is a mmo.   Once the cdkey has been registred and used, you dont need the cd anymore.   So basicly Funcom is forced to pay back retailer for game that have been used.   Many of the peoples who got their refunds, still plays the game, in fact they got the game for free.   Guess Funcom is the only one's to blame, if your going to print stuff on the game box and not put them in the live game, it could be considered as false advertisement.

You've either been misinformed or you need to try harder.  Everyone knows that it's not possible to return software for a refund.

Practice makes perfect, though.

That's what i tought too....

If they do refund the game, which I think it must be very hard to do. The only thing Funcom as to do is to cancel the account attach to those CD Key.

I guess they could do that, but i dont see someone at Funcom re-opening each box being returned, note the cdkey and remove them from the system 1 by 1.

Oh, do you have some form of proof that this is happening?  What retailer gives money back on ANY PC game?

Gamestop retailers have issued refunds for the game.   You might need to be insistant, but they will give you a refund.  Of course don't come back 25 days after buying the game.

Fun and challenge, but then again, most MMO these days are all about gears and loot.   In most game today, winning a pvp fight is more about the gears then anything else.

My main is a cleric and it solo really easy.  Yes it takes sometimes to kill stuff, but it can heal himself, it wears plate armor and a shield, survivability wise, i think Cleric are king.

There's sandbox and sandbox, and to go from having lots to do to absolutely nothing to do I think that put alot of people off staying longer and making enough social connections to make it worthwhile.

That was the downfall of this game, such a shame because with a bit more content this game would rule all.

QFT !  I have exprienced the same thing.  Newbie area was AWESOME, but then after that i felt i've been cheated, it's was not the same game at all.   Make the whole game like the starting area or at least add content after the newbie island.

Real sad to see this happen.  AO is 100 times better than that crap they just relased called AOC.   With all the whinning i'm seing and how little peoples will remains playing AOC past the free month  i'm afraid Funcom future looks bleak, they put all their eggs in the AOC basket....

I'm proud to have been part of this game when it was succesful, played it from 2002 to 2005.

Well with your own city you can organize your own AI raid without having to beg other org to let you in.  You get all kind of neat bonuses from the org city, you get to use buffing equipement (tradeskills).  I think it's well worth it.
