I was looking for more humor I guess... but then again I'm not married.  In my every day life I do try to find humor in everything and I haven't quite figured out what I'd do.

I am bored and I got to thinking...  For all you married/soon to be married dudes I have a hypothetical scenario I wanna throw at you just to see the reaction and for the potential hillarity that might ensue.

The work day is over, and you've faced the gridlock of your city to finally pull into your drive way.  You rummage through your mailbox and find no bills.  Grateful that theres no money that needs spending you seem to begin to smile.  The weight on your shoulders somehow seems non existant.  You are home.. your castle, and in a short few moments you'll be inside with your wife and that makes you all that much happier.  Further more you have a small child, perhaps no older then 6 months and as a loving father you really want to get back home to see your kid.  Here's where it gets interesting.

As you approach the front door you hear a bunch of women having conversations in your living room and you think nothing of it considering that your wife often has her friends over for coffee/tea and do whatever it is women do when they get together in the absence of men.  You walk in the door, hang your coat and walk into the living room to realize that all the women are there, together, breastfeeding.  What comes to your mind at that instant?

I feel the same way.  Completely avoiding germs only opens you up to being vulnerable to them.  Why, I even sit on public toilet seats!

Reading that I just heard the collective "omg" from all the people that read it

No, YOu!

I think people in general aruge here or anywhere else on the internet because of the annonemity and lack of consequence for being a complete tool.  It's one of the reasons why you don't see people doing what they do here on the street or in a bar or any other live social function... unless they're drunk.

Will it ever end?  I don't know.  Perhaps one day when everything we do on the "future internet" will require a video feed of ourselves for others to see.  Perhaps the annonemity will disappear and people might be less inclined to do stupid shit.

English is my third language... cut me some slack...

lol, Im screwing with you. You'll never ever see me attack someone on the forums based off of their grammar

No big deal, I was not serious either.  Though English is really my third language it's the one I use most nowadays.  As for attacking people for grammar... maybe you should attack them!  Just think of the potential fun!

No, this was about the $$$$$ so now everyone has to search the web and dig around for anything that is relevant (but if its news how would they know what to search for?) but more likely they will rely on he-said-she-said BS.

Here we go again.  If you need to know anything about the game go Here.  They've been telling you to go to the War Herald for ages now.  After every pod cast and every video you've seen by them they always tell you at the end to go to either the herald or warhammer online website.

I'm actually glad they have no "official" forums.  I personally agree with their philosophy where if you have a problem or wish to give feedback it's all in the game for you to use.  Just go to the help screen by hitting the letter H and send your feed back.  It goes directly to where you want it to go without even leaving the game.  After all I'd think you were there to play the game and not sit on some forum bemoaning how gimp your throw axe skill is unless sitting on a board and complaining is actually what you like doing.... If I was Mythic, I'd go the same way because quite frankly listening to the horde of vapid mouth breathers is tiresome and without merit.

I can't help but think that this tread is giving mmo players a bad name.  Imagine someone new coming here and seeing this and thinking "wow, he was confused by simple colors?  do I really want to play with people like this?"

Honestly, if you're getting confused by colors which you can change at will, there might be something wrong.  This is the lazy attitude that's driving this genre into the ground.  People refuse to put any effort or thought into anything they do in mmos anymore.

Further more Z3RO or however you spell his name does have a point.

I try and go in with no expectations.  I figure this way I am better able to just go with it and see things for what they are rather then trying to compare them to something I've done before.  I'm not one to put lots of emphasys on graphics or the user interface.  What I look for is being able to make a character and get into the world and go around and see new things.  It's great for me when I walk out of the starter town and feel like there is tons to explore and see.  It's all about the experience.  I like to feel like I'm taking part in something different, something grand.

Cold pudding.  I've been eating it for 25 years and every time I do eat it it's always been served cold to me.  It's just the way it's always been for me.  I've tried eating it warm and it's just not the same for me.

I think the simplest solution to this is to offer options.  When I say options I don't mean in the same game, they don't have to be all alike and all inclusive.  LIfe is not fair.  What I mean is that we need more games, perhaps all part of the same genre with different mechanics.  Difference does not necessaraly make anything better or worse, it makes it different and often interesting.

This is one of the reasons I think the MMO Genre as a whole is stale because nobody wants to broaden it anymore.  They are perfectly content with one formula and will milk it till it's dry and about to die.  Only then will they ever do anything different.

When it comes to my tastes, I have a blace for both the real time combat and the target + hit skills as they light up.  The real time combat would allow me to use my personal ability to over come a challenge.  It would allow me to perhaps negate the other persons equipment because of my tactics or the ability to think on the run and act according to the circumstances.

On the other hand the target and hit skills is good for those times when you just want to wind down and have time between fights to talk to people you're grouped with or that might be in the vicinity.  After all I'm still a firm believer that the MMO is at it's core still a social experience and if I don't take advantage of it I might as well just go outside.  There's a time and place for everything.  Just because you hate it does not mean it should die a horrible death.

I was gonna ask for your post count or your stuff but at the rate that this is going I'm just going to take up rock climbing.  I'm still debating on the whole WAR thing.  I'll give my friends a month or 2 to test the waters for me, I might even play on their accounts and if they stick with it I might be swayed.

Well my experience has only been with the week of open beta so I don't have too much to say.

I did notice some similarities but also quite a few differences.  It's not DAoC by any stretch, it's its own game however you might find a few things that remind you of the good stuff.

Maybe when I get around to purchasing the game and getting beyond level 20 will I be able to say anything concrete, as for now this is all I can really say.

Someone did postulate in another thread that perhaps when you get higher up in levels and there are actual keeps to take and defend people would start talking more.  This might be even more true since the renown merchants are in the keeps themselves and you have to own it to buy your renown stuff.  On a third note, I think when the main city siges start people might band together and defend it, but in the end this is all speculation.

I haven't picked the game up yet due to having more important things to spend my money on but when I get around to dealing with it all I'll pick it up and play.  Hopefully by then the game will be further along and people will realize that there are others willing to talk.  If all else fails just have some sort of server where the players choose to be more sociable... if that's even possible... perhaps pick a server and just ask people of like mind to come and join you.  I figure if the entire population or at least the majority of it plays the same there might be hope.
