My first MMORPG was Ragnarok Online back when they only had 1-1 classes. That was such a good game back in the days. It's been a long time since then. Back then I was all over Counter-Strike 1.6 on WAN and Return to Castle Wolfenstein. |

It's pretty entertaining to see how torn the two worlds are from bunny hopping. what I mean by that is the mmorpg world really looks down on bunny hopping because of the negative experiences it causes while in the FPS world bunny hopping in a fast FPS is just the norm and is often a sign of a "newbie" if your unable to. Since Huxley is built off of the Unreal 3 engine you'll be seeing a lot of bunny hopping since I assume a lot of the more hardcore FPS fans that come from Quake, Unreal, and even TF2 will be making their way to the Mmorpg genre. Of course, that all depends on what platform you play on. I assume console players will be unable to bunny hop since they are playing with such limited controls but in past Unreal games bunny hopping is basically the norm (especially since they provided you with a double jump and air control)
This image is a prime example. It all depends what platform your playing on. If your on the real gaming platform you'll learn to bunny hop or miss every time. (Though bunny hopping won't help you against me. |

Yeah well just because Blizzard has a lot of money doesn't mean World of Warcraft is good. It just means alot of idiots pay for it. Which means that WoW's community is pretty shitty. Have you even logged in recently? Because I don't even have to log on to tell you how bad the community is. So I guess Blizzard's money earned from WoW subscribers is fueled by the masses of stupidity then huh? |

I guess it explains everything since you've only played FPS with a controller. Maybe i'd be as good as you if I played Pro Halo too! I've seen "pro" controller fps players. Yeah, "pro" fps players that use controllers have no right to call themselves good. Just curious, since you ever played Quake 3 Arena, Unreal Tournament, or even Counter-strike?.... *sigh* This is almost as bad as owning an entire server and being banned for "hacking" |

I'm not sure why your offended by the "bunny hopping" because this game is built on the Unreal 3 engine and the Unreal 3 engine is built for extremely fast paced "bunny hopping" action. I hope you realise this is an FPS and not your run-of-the-mill mmo. Not sure why you would scorn bunny hopping in an FPS in the first place. You bunny hop in all fast paced FPS's, ever play Quake, or Unreal before? Can you imagine not bunny hopping at all? I can't. I think it would be hilarious to watch Professional FPS players play a fast paced FPS without bunny hopping. You'd basically have abunch of newbies. (halo players). I really hope they don't tailor this to non-fps players or console gamers. I somehow think it would go downhill, just look at the PS3 version of unreal tournament. 1/3 reduced movement speed, are you kidding me? |

Holy crap, this poster could NOT be more right. I believe anyone who argues this fact is either A) A casual gamer, or B) A console gamer. Gaming is not something you should be doing casually, and if you are go where the newbies are, the console. If your going to be a gamer atleast take pride in your medium and learn how to build a PC. It's so easy a MORON can do it. (Yes, Xbox gamers I mean you) Think about it like this, imagine someone racing cars for years on end, and wanting to be the best race car driver there is yet never knowing how their car works or ever being able to repair or build a car. Does that make sense to you? Every race car driver I've known has been a pretty damn good mechanic. |

Let's purchase mmofps.com (some kind of variation since mmofps.com is taken) and start it from scratch. :) |

While Planetside seemed to spark the FPS genre on an mmorpg it did not satisfy many real fps fans. The PC has a huge market for FPS. There are 6 million people playing Counter-strike alone. Now if they could bring that to an mmorpg and do it right you would have a very successful game. I wish mmorpg developers would somehow realise that we want the real thing not a half-ass attempt. The only problem is that it's a really tough job. FPS is the most active real time game there is, and making it not lag and run a ta playable level might be pretty difficult. Planetside only had 1 hit box too! I'm sure they can do it, just givem time. I hope they don't take long though. |
