Yes and I even would mail it back to Aventurine and Tasos saying I broke it.

Know why?  Because there's nothin they would be able to do.  NDA's are joke. And only designed to HIDE bad things.

Heya,

Look, you can think what you like about Darkfall, but NDAs (especially physically signed NDAs) are extremely serious business. We're not talking about EULAs here, we're talking about contracts that can result in SERIOUS legal ramifications. I've had to sign them on a number of occasions for various jobs that I've done and I wouldn't even think of breaking one, it just isn't worth it.

That is all

Heya,

NDAs are only legally binding if you get compensation of it, means money. So the NDAs you sign for some company, when you work for them (and get paid), are very serious business. The "NDAs" you sign to beta test a game (while not getting paid anything) are something you can wipe your behind on.

That is all.

<sigh> The idiocy in this thread is exceptional even by MMORPG.com standards.

1. It's supposed to be *HUGE* gameworld, if you want to grind in some corner like you're used to do in other games, become a hermit. If the game is as huge as they say, it will be absolutely no problem at all to find some spot in the middle of nowhere and do your thing.

2. Join a guild and use their "safe" areas. This should be selfexplanatory. Soloing doesn't shine in FFA environment.

3. There will be no hotspots where ganksquads make a camp and wait for the grinders to show up. This is because mobs don't have static spawnpoints. Where you one day had goblins, the next day there might a dragon or player made town or just empty space.

4. There are no uber items. No ubershinies that you raid for 15 hours a day over a month long period. Like in EVE, you only use what you can afford to lose. That is really the number one rule in loot games.

5. After the initial chaos has died off and guilds start to control their areas, ganksquads will have a hard time finding their easy prey. What they will be facing is organized armies of competing guilds. Not everywhere obviously, but just something they have to keep in mind. Gankers don't like getting killed repeatedly.

6. Skills only give you a certain advantage, it's more about your personal skill. No demigods killing armies of lowbies with their pinkie.

"Age of Conan is one of the finest online RPGs available."

Spot on, online RPG it is, but not a real MMO.

Very nice shots indeed.

Hmm.. it would look even better without all those floating tags and golden arrows hovering in the air IMHO.

Themepark games are what big companies are focusing on, easy to code, easy to control and easy to sell. And they all suck.

For a real MMORPG, start looking for independent developers. That's where it's at.

/facepalm

They should require somesort of IQ test before allowed to play EVE... both the community and the retards would benefit from it.

Initial sales mean nothing, in 2-3 months we will see if it'll sink or float. And that depends how well FC can add more content, because AoC is first and foremost a PvE game, AoC PvP is shallow and pointless, so it's the PvE people that will either stay or leave. Any real PvP'er will get bored in AoC after couple of months.

So many people came here and ripped into the beta testers when we offered our final opinions of our experiences in the beta and with the gameplay itself.  The fact of the matter is this: Age of Conan was rushed out the door.  Pretty much every single bug I have read about here and in other places have been in existence for months now.  The queues with CS are because they are overloaded: Broken Quests, Broken Mobs, players getting stuck in the geometry, and more.  Had they taken the time with polishing the game many of these frustrations could have been avoided.

Itemization has never worked properly with Age of Conan.  Yet, we were promised by Funcom that it would be addressed before launch and was in fact already addressed on internal builds.  Other things promised were DirectX 10 and spellweaving.  Apparently the latter is in once you hit level 50 lol, but directx 10 is still not functional and will not be for several months.

I have said it before and I will say it again.  There is really no one to blame except everyone that just believed that the testers had an axe to grind.  Sure, wait and see how it pans out, continue paying to beta test a product that was rushed to market feature incomplete, buggy, and far less than what the developers had stated.  As long as people continue to pay for crap then they will get crap.

This.

People are getting banned because of a wellknown bug that Funcom was too lazy to fix. It does't really matter if this guy actually exploited or not, the fact is Funcom should have handled this like professionals (yes, I realise that for this particular company it would be a new thing), find proof first and then use the banstick.

I say it again, Funcom should have ironed these sort of things out during beta, that's why it's there for. Now Funcom's customers, players, are paying for their money-hungry ways of handling QA.

Best game ever?

Gawd, I loved that game.

Well no, not really, actually it kind of sucked.

But not as much as AoC TBH.

Graphics are stunning, it pretty mcuh blows AoC out of the water in environmrntal design . They use the ssame tree style as AoC but they have better shaders on them and they fit the game world.

Game is running about 20-40 fps on maxed settings.

so far so good...

Post a short (or long!) review, if you will. I think I'll try this out and see what they've come up with during these months. I also got combo-critted by UnFuncom with their Age of Instances and now I feel the need to cleanse myself in an open world.

How many people?

Those who have the game - (those who don't whine + people that continue to play it) = People who are whining and quitting en masse.

Thats a rough estimate FYI, if you're looking for numbers, go and find it out yourself.

The first question you need to ask is, would I like AoC as much if it had less intensive animations, less detailed world, less detailed characters, less less less in every aspect of its graphic system?

Or would you like your cake and eat it too?

People are whining and quitting en masse... do you really have ask that question?

Stop moaning cause they dont make there game crap to run on your shitty computer.

Poor reasoning. There are far better games out there that can be played with old hardware. Funcom can only blame themselves for losing customers due to performance issues. Bad coding and too much focus on graphics.

Gameplay is number 1. Everything else is secondary. Funcom forgot that.

I'll play what ever is left of my free 30 days.

Only thing that keeps me logging in daily are those awesome graphic details you can see from afar, like looking to the horizon from a mountain top. Truly awesome. But that's it, gameplay is mostly just meh. And the instancing... if AoC fails hard, there's one good thing coming out of it, and that's that game companies will see that what people want is an OPEN GAME WORLD.

Funcom knows advertizing, that's all it means. And making sexy adds with AoC graphics is something that a retarded monkey could do.

In couple of months we'll see if AoC is a success or not.
