I'm enjoying the game.  It's a little raw but I can see the core elements are there for a great game.  The general art style and graphics are decent but it appears to me that characters and objects could be crisper.  I'm running the game on max settings with SLI 8800GTXs.  I've heard there will be another graphics update at release?  Anyone link to a source confirming this?

this is what you get when you think you know better that the players that suscribe

the only reason SWG is still running is because sony is so big and indifferent  it doesnt see  SWG died a LONG GLONG TIME AGO IN A GALAXY FAR FAR AWAY

the only ones that play now are those lame PVP dorks that just use SWG as an arena and not as an mmo

Hmm, I still play and I am not a PvP player. Been there since launch and don't plan on leaving.

The Meatlump Themepark is cool and I love the sense of humor the Devs added to the NPCs in it.

Good grief.. they're just trying to inject real world wackiness (read more lame attempts at copying Blizzards formula for success) into this travesty of a game.  The only problem is.. that's not the Star Wars universe nor was it the original vision for this game that made it so successful initially!

Somebody kill this thing already!

I'm by no means an AoC hater but Gamespy ratings always seem high.  Plus the cons on the front page seem like big dealbusters for a lot of people.

But meh to each is own.  A decent run-of-the-mill average MMO that I'm getting some kicks out of but will not resubscribe till this thing gets polished.

Fine.  But know that EVERY single MMO undergoes revisions.. it's the nature of the beast!

Revisions are fine but i don't continue to pay for games that should still be in beta or have such bad customer service problems.  I'm weird that way.

Very well written and constructive post.  Hopefully people will take off their fanboi/hater blinders and consider your points.

I believe that is against the EULA but have heard from others that they have never been banned for this.  I would watch out for connecting to the game via different IP addresses as this is a clear indication there is some account sharing going on.

I think their sub numbers would go through the roof (for pre-CU that is).

However, with their substandard service and station pass money grab system they have no incentive to revert this game back to it's former glory and work on what is really important to their customers.

Therefore, they will never see my and a lot of other's coin again.

Well I'm afraid you're going to be upset at many MMOs out there if you're disgruntled being ganked from time to time.  My best advice for you in Eve is to join a corp that will assist in your protection.  In Eve it is very difficult to grind the good stuff solo w/out losing ships.

Have you tried Guild Wars?  While you might not like the gameplay, I've never played a game that is less grind dependent and where true skill outshines gear deficiency in regards to PVP.

Good luck.

Yes, i did this myself with my dervish...  He is now a very happy D/A with a set of Forgotten Ungues

To change to 'Sin or Rit secondary, you need to do the command post missions after consulate docks, including getting koss back and the profession changer will appear in the Command post and will charge you 500 gold to change

Excellent.  Thanks as always for your helpfulness Lonesamurai!

.... To be honest, SWG also was not a game for everyone - WoW is ....

FALSE

I never liked W0W. never played it and never even looked at again after it was released. the reasons?

cartoonish graphics for characters is one. fantasy settin' is another.

SWG WAS for everyone. ya could become anybody. RP Uncle Oven or Jedi or stormtrooper... the ability to mix/match professions was priceless. as somebody put it the 32 plus professions was half of SWG content in itself!

when I saw W0W beta screenshots it was like MEH! SWG even looked so much better... more deapth, more freedom and based on Sci-Fi and not some chizzy fantazy world with little dwarphs and elphs..

buttomline: W0W is not my cup of tea. and I can't see how SWG isn't to anyone.....

Ah yes.. how could we forget Uncle Oven.  I used to love roleplaying poor old Uncle Oven and Aunt Stovetop getting burned alive by the Sandpeeps.

Sorry don't mean to make fun of your typo.. just pissed that pre-CU is but a distant memory

So i'm guessing there is no website like thotbot for Guild Wars

Ok, two things:

1, give people chance to answer your query

2, GW isn't an MMO, everything you need to do a mission or quest is given to you in the mission or quest, simple as that...

Try GuildWiki, it not only tells you about the missions and quests, but where to get them, how to do them and what you get for doing it:

So you are saying 4 hours isn't enough time for someone to answer my post when other post started around the same time mine was got answered within 20 minutes.

No it's not enough time.. but it is enough time to research the answer on your own

Excellent info thanks very much.  So it sounds like if I complete all of the content in Prophecies, I should have most (if not all) of the available skills and ready to take on the Eye of the North content?

"chicks only dig guys with skills.."

If I've played half of the original and half of Factions, do i need to complete all of the content from those in order to pick up any more remaining skills for my classes?  Or is it possible to just pick them up if I start Nightfall and eventually Eye of the North from scratch?

I originally had the same problem as the op with this game and my newer rig well exceeds the min specs for this game.  I'm not sure if this is your problem but..

For me it was a 3rd party firewall issue.  At the time I was using Zone Alarm and had to disable it in order for the game to run smoothly.  You can also see a dev suggestion in this official thread:
