Well I've only logged twenty something hours on FFXII since I bought it and I probably have topped 80 hours in Space Empires 4 and 5 in the last two weeks...go figure.

Sure we didn't have a ghost writer this week?

I was a ghost for Halloween. Does that count?

The game was in closed beta for several months but even that has been shut down without a word from the Devs. The last word anyone heard from Luke (The Main Dev) was that that they were seeking a publisher. This was back in April of this year so I'm guessing they never found one.

John Nangle was the lead artist and his resume says the project was cancelled in April 2006

Hope that sheds some light on things

Great idea actualy, and a very catchy title LOL, Best of MMOWTF ! HAHAHA, instant classic.

I can confirm there will be a 2006 MMOWTF Awards voting starting December 11th although it will probably just use a simple method of voting.

I'm disappointed.

I write more pointless nonsense than anyone. Where's my hate thread?

A big thanks to the folks who suggested I needed some psychological counseling since I recently checked myself into McLean Hospital to get some help with my narcissism and my complusive killing disorder. Things were going great until me and my new friend Peter (He was in for sexual misconduct so I'm guessing he was a high level Priest) saw this n00b mage kid with some nice gear we wanted. We ganked him but the GMs in white clothes caught us and hit me with some kind of root spell that looked like a funny vest.

Some crazy carebear tried to mezz me with needle but I grabbed it and stabbed her with the special attack I'd been saving up the whole time. Now I have to dictate my posts and articles to the floating typewriter that visits me in my padded cell...Gratz guys!

um... even terrorists recognize and stand down for things like ramadan.

terrorists, you know, suicide bombers, people that blow themselves up ALONG with their victims?  fanatical assassins?  real life "monsters" if you will

The answer to that would be a NO.

To the author (And everyone who didn't catch his use of the word loose): Please, PLEASE read my brief article Of Loose and Lose on this fine site. This helpful definition from m-w.com may be of use: "Loose: 1 a : not rigidly fastened or securely attached." I will be doing weekly posts, trying to correct some of the more common word blunders...Loose vs. Lose had to be first; the misuse of these words is chronic. I lose sleep over how often people say loose when they mean lose! hehe

Good article over all though.

Actually it was a simple spelling error that wasn't in the orignal draft. Sometimes in the editing process things get un-spelled.

It's a shame too. Now all those people waiting for Wii will have to keep playing Toontown Online a bit longer.

Just make sure you keep the NDA up as long as possible and aviod posting such early version of your work since large companies aren't above stealiing your work. In fact, the last time I was at Funcom HQ they had several concept art peices that looked remarkably close to your work, atlhough it might just have been one of the Dev's kids drawing on the wall again.

Good luck with your project, I'll be happy to preview your game when it gets further along

I'd seize total power in a violent coup and mercilessly execute anyone who gave me a dirty look. Then I would probably try and modify the new user agreement to include rights to your soul so that I could acheive apotheosis.

Mythic spent 2.5 million in the development of Dark Age of Camelot up until it's release in 2001. Was that the figure you were looking for?

Yeah! How dare you write an article like this. You are giving intellectual writers like myself a bad name with your foolery!

Violence has an unfair stigma in games thanks to Take 2 with their dishonesty when questioned "is there adult content in your game?".

I like this comment because it stuck me as utterly absurd. What mother or father would buy GTA game with any kind of delsusions about what kind of game it is? Just to be clear, violence had always been acceptable for games, while sexual references are not. Insuinuating Take 2 or anyone else making violent games is responsable for some non-existent 'stigma' is a pretty silly idea.

We don't live in the TV Dave, we watch it.

Seems like a great debate topic to me.

Now if I can only find a chimp with a computer to be my opponent.
