All things revolved around wars, or death. Even the real word! So the fact that there is war and PvP in EVE makes it more realistic, and the fact that it is also a key part even more so.. As in the real world we have miners, traders, corporations and soldiers much the same happens in EVE. All roads lead to combat, even if it just combat support but the option is also there to just fly around and admire the views and ships. I know someone that uses EVE to make pretty screen shots. Crazy people, eh? Hehe, it's awesome that you want to give it a try again. Much has changed since 2005 (I started back in 2003 but took a few months to a years break) but it's still very much a fun game. I only find it fun when my friends are online as I feel it is a very social game and without players to make new things happen it becomes very repetitive. Take the 14 day free trail. Download it and jump in! If you like it you can reactivate the old account or just keep the trial. Saves you money at least using the trial first. ^-^ |

Originally posted by bluealien1 It seems that you have played the game over and over and got sick of it. It's not that the game is as crap as you make it sound but LOTRO does lack 'Stayability'. 'WoW') that once you've reached a high level and done the quests and then it all kinda trails off into dust. Start again, do it all over and repeat. It's the curse of a MMO, near impossible to make it ever lasting without making it harder for new players but difficult to keep old players past a few months. (Or years in some cases). Sounds as if you played it through, did everything and got bored of it so now it seems pretty crap. And I a guessing the same will happen with AoC for you in a year or so? We'll see. Overall I agree that LOTRO got very same-y. |

On average is is probably around 1.5-2 accounts for person. I says that because for every person with a single account there are people with 5 or 10 even. Eve-Online has an average player game of +25 I believe so around this area of peoples lives they have a lot of expendable income. Not all of the player base is mature and as the game can take a long time and most of the time is either so relaxing you can fall asleep or so stressful you have a heart attack it is not a game for everyone. What I find gets me through the game is the people there are to talk to and they made it 10x more enjoyable to play. I have been know at one point to run three accounts but currently and only running one as the alts where no longer needed. Over all there are a high number of people running multiple accounts. At the moment it can cause a few problems as everyone can thus be independent meaning that fewer people are required to forfill a task thus the socialness of the game can become redundant. Over all I like that game but after a few months of heavy solid player you may feel it is very much the same thing. The best idea is to play casualy, here and there. Perhaps do more than one roll so there are other things to do? Meh, I dunno. But over all there does seem to even out at more than 1 account per person for sure. Whether it is quiet two, I don't know. |

I like realistic graphics but the problem is that they always look like fail. In that sense I prefer a game to look cartoon like yet still believable. It can have pretty graphics but aren't going for the "Feels like Real Life" look. In fact I do tend to find games that look real to be very very creepy and I don't enjoy them or get into them as much. Perhaps this comes from my love of cartoons and anime? Anyway, I prefer cartoons over all as long as it is not 2D. Somewhere between WoW and LOTRO? Yeah, that is about the right mix for me. :D Good topic thought, it is interesting to see peoples ideas. Near impossable to flame as well. The poll would of done better had it had a "Mix" vote option however.. |

How very odd. What is your computer (and 8800GT) registering the monitor as? It could be faulty hardware or the incorrect drivers installed. |

After reading a little about them I choose someone that sounded good. Sadly I know none of them so I think I ma of voted for Jade. *Shrugs* Over all 9 people will get into it and they will change every.. 6 months was it? Or a year? I dunno, anyway. We'll get a good team with people that think very different ways. Good luck to all of them! |

I think that Trinity II is being broken into stages now. Rather than one HUGE patch we'll see a lot of changes over a few months/years. Faction Warfare is likley to be before any of the other changes however. Very little i know about the two but definiantly look on the official forums for news. |

Hello. An easy way to form a name is pick a letter and then build on it. Like O. And then Oka.. Or Ole.. and keep building till you get a name you like the sound of. If you want to ti start with D, try: Dr, Da, Deo, Dra, Droe, and then keep building on it! |

If you're worried about PvP don't be. Join a corp that's busy and active with people willing to help you. If you want to give EVE another try then go for it but don't throw away 12 million SP. It will be far better than starting again! As long as you can talk to people and explain your situation you'll be fine in eve! Fly safe! |

A great idea but fails because it's aimed at young people for education. I love the concept, wonder how much of a law suit would start if someone made a GOOD copy of this. Lol. |

I wasn't shooting it down. The issues aren't small bugs and even after the bugs I still rated it 7/10! What do you want? Blood? Lol. It is a very good game and I am still playing it. Pre-ordering is awesome too. If you haven't tried this game try it before the Beta closes! If you enjoy it buy it. :D

This is a very fun game but there are some major issues with the client that should of been found in the alpha testing phase. Many people with HIGH end graphics cards are finding the game is automaticly lowering there graphics even if the game is running as well as it can. General graphical issues and bugs on well known and highly used cards. Sound issues and random lag when sounds play for a few players. Character creation, ever male has a really FAT neck and they all look fugly. Sea is too repeated. Story line is amazing! Game idea is fantasic! It still is in beta but these small issues should of been fixed a long time ago. The most annoying issue for most players is an error "Graphics Card Overload" which seems to just set texture details to medium. This does not seem to effect older cards (Nvidia 6 series).
Over all it's 7/10. If the issues where fixed I'd give it 8.5/10! :D Yay! |

I am really sorry that I can't help with technical stuffs too well. Could you possably tell us your computer spec and Operating system. Also does the problem happen every time you log in to EVE? Does it happen when you play other Online games? The more infomation you give the better the help can be. Thanks for posting and sorry I couldn't help more. Could it be your Internet provider? I don't really know. If it knocked out your total internet connection it could be a lot of things. Uninstall EVE and Redownload it.. There was an issue with the EVE client when it was released a few days ago into Trinity. |

Auction houses seem to work in two ways. For things that are very available they help to lower the price as everyone wants to sell theirs first meaning they lower their price. Rare items will always cost more on them. The problem is as you said that they get abused by people adding basic weapons for a very high price. Some weapons that aren't available on the NPC market but are high drops don't have a value price. A stable market is very hard to find as most games don't even think about the economy of a game. I really like how EVE does it. Everyone on the market could be a NPC seed or a player seed. Prices vary and some people make a HUGE amount of money of it. Say in one place someone wants "100 Special Item" but in another place "Special Items" are easy to get but it's a LONG way to get there. These people go there, get the item and sell it on for a profit. I really hate how WoW and most other Fantasy games use auction houses as the only place people can sell items to other players. That's just me however.
I dislike a lot of games methods of item sell and item seeding. Meh, at the end of the day it's a game. If you get ripped off you won't get ripped off again and it makes the game more interesting. If nothing like that happened it might get boring so it is good to have a completely power controlled market maybe? I dunno. |

WoW is a MMORPG. Second Life is a 3D Platform. Trying to compare them would be like saying, "What's better, a chopping board or a cup?" It's fun, it's a great escape and for a few people it's profitable. It's great for socializing and very random. WoW is fun, but I quit. SL is fun, and my friends are there. You do what you want (But follow the rules) It's all about the people. |

I can't say there is a best, most successful in the US and UK seems to be WoW. There are many games based off there IP. Some don't follow so well, some do. I find games that follow there IP can be more fun if you know the story lines. Like a head start with out the extra EXP. |

I love the auction house. I can spend many a gold in them, but some games -FAIL- at making a good auction house. Player shops get abused to much, and NPC only really takes the fun out of finding rare stuff. I dislike mass produced stuff, any game where every item stats vary I love. It can be rather annoying to make a large array of weapons, but in a game where the data is streamed to you custom weapons are amazing. As long as the auction houses are made fair, simple but effective they are the best system I've seen in MMORPG's currently. I do like story lines to make sense however so it is hard to please me. I usually want a waiting time depending how far the items has 'traveled'. |
