Although they are aiming to make arena PvP more end game orientated.

They could release it early, because that did a great job for Vanguard.

I just recently got charged 4 monthly fees @ £8.99 each from codemasters for lotro, although I canceled my account a month ago (I even filled out their survey thingy).

After contacting them they are going to refund me for only 2 of the charges.

In short, it's not only SOE that does stupi s*** like that.

We should be happy for games that puch the technology forward and not backward.  To many MMO developers just stand on the same spot and add nothing to the MMO community.

And TCoS is not a simple MMO.  WoW is, so if you like that....then be prepared to be educated : )

Don't understand me wrong, I just wanted to say, that lag is a great problem to this kind of fightsystem.

I was playing Vanguard and Fury and both had much connection issues during beta and short after release. So I don't want to see Spellborn going down for the same reason, because the fightsystem seems to be pretty funny and after playing Fury, all the other MMORPGs feel boring to me! (I was testing much last months:  Everquest2, LotR, LastChaos, GranadoEspada, Archlord. I retried GW and Vanguard and even Meridian ^^ but everything was so boring, so I cant wait for Spellborn)

Fyi the latest combat vid is being played  1000s of miles away from the server on the highest setting with fraps running, and the lag seemed pretty good to me.

Lets just hope it's like that with more players on the server

I have a problem. Everyone i know will play AoC : ( And im trying to get them to consider TCoS instead.  This video really helped me : )

But sadly, most mindless gamers sems to go for hype rather on pure game magic.

Dont worry I dont think AoC will be the hit every one thinks it will, specifications required to play it will see that that (you think they learn from VG)... WAR will make a splash and quickly sink without trace then all we have left is TCOS yay!

Couldn't disagree more about AoC.  It looks like it will be  a HUGE hit, and highly populated.  There are already many guilds, and a large crowd of people waiting for it.  That game will be a huge hit.

As for WAR, it will not be huge, but it will be a pretty big game, at least during the first year.

Then leaves this game..  This game still can become a big game, even if a lot of people are playing AoC or WAR.  Everyone who wil not play them will probably be waiting for this.

~mike470~

If you knew all the hidden details about AoC, you would probably have a different opinion. I too thought AoC looked great...

Your loss. But I do agree, AoC and WAR do look promising.

Absolutely loving that combat vid. I have deliberately paid no attention to this game, with no expectations it can only be the game itself that dissapoints but a quick look at the combat couldn't be passed up.

I agree, the combat system really is something different, the mix of fast twitch based actions and the strategy from the rolling UI makes this game look like a real contender for MMO of the year imo.

Of what little music is there, that also sounds fantastic.

Fyerwall how long do you think that it takes average player to play thru whole game if it's all about exploration and story, not long. After that you have to wait until new content comes I assume you haven't played much online games since you don't feel that lag is big thing, it is. In general more the game needs quick reactions more vunerable it is to lag(naturally). For example in WoW, common melee tactic is to run around player so he isn't facing you when spell is casted, counter this run around effect is really hard on heavy lag. The combat sounds intresting but it's really hard to tell before can get to test it.

BTW since most fans are telling me how deep and rich the lore is, can someone tell me which book or material is the lore based?

Here's a link of some of the lore for you tcos.com/en/gameworld/

Funcom has built in a system to give those higher up a distinct range advantage as opposed to those trying to attack from below, which seems to mean the attacking guild will need to bring along some serious siege equipment.

This is the stuff that makes me so interested in this game...

I have always played a Ranger or utility class and the thought FC seems to have put thought into alot of these classes and their use in PvP... it is exciting to me.

I agree, this game looks great, I just don't how I will be able to wait till the end of May.

Not sure about the graphics problem, but to open the map up type /map or press the "-" key to bring up the menu and chose it from there (assuming you are playing the PC version) .

To change controls you need to go to one of the sub-menus (can't remember which) and change keyboard layout to "compact".

Hope this helps.

No, there are no plans for a trial, the game has only been out for about a week. It is crazy to expect a trial less then 3 months after a game comes out.

Why? If all new MMO's had a short trial when they were released, I bet they would get alot more subscribers.

Also If I remember right, Tabula Rasa has a trial out and thats not been 3 months.

I do not care if it is dying, redying or whatever.

I am having fun, that is the point of me playing VG.

A lot of people forget that the reason to play games is to have fun, kinda sad but true.

And as to VG dying, I would say it's quite the opposite tbh, I started about a week ago and I'm having a blast and everywhere I go I always seem to see people everywhere, no less than what I used to see in FFXI and that's in GMT primetime on a EST server.

With the "Wings of the Goddess" expansion coming out in November which is shaping up nicely to be one of the best expansions FFXI has had.

I think it would be a great time to come back as everyone will be leveling the new jobs and even some of their lower jobs aswell which will make it much easier to get party's.

Also I think Square have done a great job managing FFXI with loads of updates, killing alot of the RMT and fixing alot (if not all) the bugs the game did have.
