I havent really found a game that runs terrible on my system yet to be honest..other than crysis but I dont dig on fps games.....EQ2 runs on high quality and Vanguard almost on all maxed settings...my card is still pretty fast older or not plus it is OCed x850xt was a monster on release...but no shader 3.0 =/ and single core cpu I knew it was gonna be pushing low.....ah well upgrade it is....lol

amd athlon 64 3500+, 2 gigs ram, 256mb x850xt

I am thinking that it may run but will run pretty sluggish =( 

I agree that Turbine has great art. I love the graphics of D&DO and of LOTRO(character models not withstanding, for me)....plus I still think that DAoC looks pretty good considering the age of the game. WAR also looks like it is coming along nice graphically. EQ2 got the character models just right in my opinion. I love the way they move and jump (lol) plus they just look great. Building design and armor is bland to me but that isnt a graphics problem. Over all though I think EQ2 does a good job with what they wanted to do. Plus the VO is a great touch. Love them. Lets hope EQ3 will be made =)

There is a great interview with Pierre-Yves Deslandes in the current issue of Beckett massive online gamer Magazine about Spellborn. Talking about the world, the combat, in game commerce and development. Good read. Was interesting to read that the game wont feature a real healer and no instant heal potions or scrolls to heal.He says all players will be able to learn a heal skill. Different game indeed.

   I played EQ2 with my wife for 2 years and loved every minute of it. We have played WOW for about a year. The two games are graphically night and day.  I think that EQ2 has the goods if you judge it on the poly counts but as stated before doesnt have a good art direction. Noone really said much about art direction in mmo's until WOW proved that with good art direction you can overcome low poly counts and bump mapping and shadows anyday.

   That being said EQ2 is four and a half years old now. As is WOW. Both games need improvements to their graphics to stay graphically relevant. Moreso WOW in my opinion. EQ2 has a more virtual fantasy world and the graphics reflect that idea. WOW goes for a more fantastical idea of a fantasy world and thats what they achieved. 

    I do think LOTRO environments are Wonderful. The character animations arent what I like for some reason...and the characters all look the same to me. I think that Vanguards Graphics are nice as well. I ran the game fine on my rig and thought that it was like EQ2 but with abit better art direction. I know gameplay is the most important thing.......This was just a discussion on graphics.

Spore will have alot of fans and alot of people will be just meh on it.....people will spend more time in the creator than the actual gameplay....The ability to create is great but the actual gameplay?......Depth for sure but not as much as you might think....you will see.

lol agreed. I have been a member of the WAR community for a long while now and havent had chance to play it. AOC as well. Oh well soon enough I suppose.

I think it will be along the same lines as TBC but as stated above,that isnt such a bad thing. I know that Blizzard has spent alot of time focused on the PVP side because of the great amount of people that are interested in that but I also hope that the same attention has been spent on the PVE side as well. Beyond the standard fetch quests and faction grinds. WOW remains the most polished game on the market and does have a certain magical charm that all Blizzard products seem to share. We know the polish will be there lets hope it isnt just more of the same.

MOST mmo's dont require a credit card for the trials they offer. I think it is silly to do so. It is an ancient practice. How many require a credit  card? Ultima online...Dark Age of Camelot....ummm....ummm......

Those that dont? EQ2,EVE, LOTRO, WOW, COH,COV,AC,DDO,EQ1 ans countless others...I mean it just is a small minority that still do that...it hurts to not have a more accessible trial of their game I think. but just my 2cents

Thanks alot for your time and effort put into the post. Really speaks to how much you care for the game to write that much in the defense of it. I am downloading the trial now and will put me graphics reservations aside lol  thanks again.

I like the ideas behind the game but the graphics are soo dated. Like Horizons for me
