If the only thing Devs will put into this game from now on are Bug fixes and skill balancing then imo that means they are leaving it to die.

I understand why they would do this, they want everyone playing GW1 to migrate over to GW2 in turn lowering the GW1 population and closing those servers down.

It makes sense, It's just freaking lame.

Anyway wasn't the majority of the GW content released through Expansions? saying that they wont make expansions anymore is the same as saying they aren't developing new content.

No new Expansions = dead game

Lets hope we all like GW2... hell even if we don't what choice do we have.

I like how you ignored the rest of my post. You obviously weren't there for the Sorrow's Furnace update, right? Well we'll probably see more of those happening.

WAR by far in my opinion.

I've been wondering - do you guys think ANet will implement some sort of housing system in Guild Wars 2? I'm hoping for something like housing that takes up actual space in the world with fully-customizable houses, as apart from skills Guild Wars currently lacks customization in my opinion. Would be a welcomed contrast.

I don't understand why people arent flaming the shit out of these devs.

Maybe because said people actually do their homework? The devs have *stressed* that the game will not be abandoned. The servers will stay up, events will happen, there will be random content updates, balances etc. The only thing they aren't planning on doing is releasing expansions and new campaigns. They could easily shut down the servers if they wish.

Why bother, I have already gone through them several times, he brought nothing new to the table.

Which defeats the point of arguing in the first place. Why argue your case if you're not willing to stand up for it? That's called trolling

Nice, your real good, another WoW expert joins the fray. Of course you call BS, it's called a knee-jerk reaction from a fanboi, you refuse to accept any complaint is valid, because your a) real good or b) full of shit.

I'm hedging here but leaning towards b)

I love how you failed to counter any of his arguments made.

This is very promising indeed. The only worry I have is that the community won't be controlled and gold-spammers will take over it. I really don't want it to go down in the dumps because of inconsiderate idiots.

It's sad. You don't get much for the hardware required to be honest.

I've played on a PvE and a PvP server, mostly the latter and I've only had negligible difference in leveling times as a result of ganking.

Regardless of whom it may have been sold to, 1.5 million copies is something many people would kill for.

Huh?  The developer provided them with a journal to report on, how is that in any way a violation of anything?  Next time read the article before you open mouth and insert foot.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think you're missing the hidden meaning behind that message.

Warriors and Elementalists are excellent at tanking when done correctly.

Monk is the best at healing in my opinion simply because of Divine favor. I can't express the number of times that little bit of extra healing has come in handy.

OP, I don't plan on buying WAR for some time but this thread is a serious fail.

Again, many seem to forget that the DF hypemeter is plagued with "lol vapores"  and "crap" from people who have not "looked into it" like you say.  However I have no problem with that.  If they have no interest in the game at this time, their assessment is correct.

Im sure some non-DF fans have multiple accounts, and im not saying that it hasnt happened, just not in the massive amounts that people are trying to make it seem.

And the comments that you describe as "idiots", its a hype meter, there to judge hype for a game, not a review meter for people to leave detailed reviews.  I look at stargate worlds and instantly know i will never play it.  Shadow of legend, hello kitty, same thing.  But even if you want to blind yourself to that fact, I could easily label the people who leave the "lol its a scam" comments as idiots as well.

Here is another example from the DF hype meter:  "Wont stand up agianst Warhammer or World of Warcraft. "   I could easily say lol this guy has obviously not read up on DF at all and is just a fanboi of some other game since anyone who knows anything knows that DF is not aiming to stand up to those "easy access" MMOs and also caters to a niche in the market.  No one expects it to get those kind of numbers, because it just isnt designed that way.

Funny how people only like to see their side of the arguement...god strike me down if i ever go through life that close minded.

I get that people don't like DF, its not for everyone and people value other things in games.  And I get that some people just cant grasp a mmo company having a different development cycle.  But what I dont get are the people who have no room in their lives for an open mind.

I also enjoy reminding people about TF2...a game that forum trolls loved to hop on the bandwagon and be cool by using the word "vaporwarez".  TF2 was scraped and redone after a lot of development, and people bashed the game for it.  But the developers *gasp* delayed it and created a game that they felt was to the best of their abilities (and other reasons) and it turned out to be one of the best PC shooters of its time.

Stories like TF2 just show how that group think mentality works and how close minded people are.

Darkfall could of course flop, definitely not denying that since I have yet to play it.  But it also could be a huge success...an option that I rarely see you naysayers admitting to.

I will most definitely not dispute the fact that there are comments from people on the DF hype meter saying it's vaporware, and I agree that they do indeed sound silly. However, the problem we have here is that certain DF fans have gone on a recruitment drive/alternate account creation spree to specifically hype DF high and other games low. I wouldn't even have a problem with the organised event as long as it was done fairly. Sadly, I'm in no two minds about the fact that alternate accounts have been created.

Also, as you mentioned, DF is a niche game, so I still can't see how you can think that it's the most hyped MMO at the moment. It's a direct contradiction. Using the excuse of Warhammer "is on the horizon" is also a rather silly one, no offense, as Darkfall has supposedly been all these years too. Sure, we have a definite release date for Warhammer but the point is that that date hasn't arrived yet.

Lastly, I am not a DF naysayer. I believe that it will be out soon. However, certain members of the community are getting on my nerves extremely.
