First, I didnt read all the posts so I dunno if your questions were answered at all. this is just my two cents.
I, like you, am a WoW junkie. Play my pally and war a lot and am even going to blizzcon. I love the game, and can't wait for WotlK to come out (want my Deathknight!). That being said, i was very anti-WAR. "All they are doing is trying to kill wow, and they never will. It will be a failure the first week!." I kept saying this line to everyone I know. I was even in WAR beta and didn't like it, although I didn't even get pass level 4. Well, WAR came out and a few of my friends (old DaoC players) went to try it out.... I laughed at them. One of my friends bought me a copy for my birthday and said "Just try it for the free month, then quit if you don't like it." So I did. I jumped on, created a Dwarf Engineer and pressed the play button. I started playing, and all I could think was..."This is WoW" And in reality it was really like WoW....for the first few levels. Then I hit my first player vs player area and my opinions of this game was proven wrong.
I'm only level seven and there is already epic Order vs Chaos battles....at level seven! In WoW, i would be killing kobolds outside IF, in happy non contested area...picking flowers. From level 1 through 7 i saw so many different areas, WAR is always keeping you on the move never letting you get drained of the same area for ten levels. In WoW at level 6 I would just be about to head to my second zone. WAR even gets deeper, you have 3 different exp bars, one for regular exp, one for pvp, and one for public quests (infamy). I guess what! Killing a player of the opposite faction actually gives you experiance for your regualr experiance bar.
I feel like I might be rambling so I leave it at this. WAR is a fresh breath of air, a change of pace. It has a lot to offer you. Before you jump into WAR, you should enjoy pvp somewhat, but I think that even if you don't WAR can make you appreciate it. So i recomend you buy it for the free month try it out, and see if its for you, but get pass level 8 or 10 to actually make an accurate opinion of it. I still love WoW, don't get me wrong, but hey! who says you can't play 2 MMOs?
