I really do not understand why so much emphasis is put on graphics over game play. I see a lot of crying about the graphics of the forums about DF. As long as it plays how it is promised the graphics should come as an afterthought as they can be upgraded. And i agree. They should show more videos, even if they are short. They are far more tangible than a few screen shots. Game play > graphics |

I definitely think that combining those players and those who want a change of game play, or like the sound of a non-linear experience, will combine to be much more than 10,000. But in the end it doesn't really matter, we all like different things. |

Colbert has made a great point about the idiocy of media and society today. That celebrity is more important than policy. Have many/any of you media entrenched Americans even taken time to look through the candidates policies and agendas? What does Colbert stand for? His persona is an adopted one for media, playing off the O'Reily style of presenting and ego humping. Open you god damn eyes people. Your capitalist system has destroyed any sense of national identity and replaced it with a For-Profit business model of government which leaves the poor disenfranchised, and uses the media to make you all accept middle class values so you don't give a damn whats happening to the world outside of your bubble.

Thing is, prices do NOT have to go up everyday. Its just that the private company called "the federal reserve" which is no more federal than Federal express, prints money with immediate interest attached to it. Thats what your taxes go to pay for. Which by the way (there is no law saying you have to pay taxes, so stop paying for your countries debts). Also how good do you feel knowing out of every dollar, 50 cents of that goes to killing those in the world who don't agree with the "doctrine of the new american century". And killing great peoples just because they wont comply with corporate, banking, and oil interests. Watch "Zeitgeist" and come out of that bubble. $19.95 seems a bit steep for a month. As personally i usually only get to play 1-2 hours a night, and rarely on weekends unless i want to try and do it drunk. For people who play 12 hours a day or whatever and are starting to develop a hump from bending over the keyboard, this may be a great deal. I intend to play AoC to check it out, and i can deal with $20.00, but i know there are many in my situation who have lives and jobs and wont be able to power game. It wont change, so ill have to deal with it.. |

Originally posted by skitzo626Very well informed concise response there. Why wouldn't a games developer try to go outside of the cookie cut box? Many players want this. It is not just a niche market either as there are so many types of game play that will cater to many different types of gamers. Rp's like myself will probably find this game a haven. PvP lovers will find this game like a drug. People who like crafting will actually be needed. Anyone who liked Oblivion I'm guessing will enjoy the title. People who have been craving a respite from gear-centric level based game play may find a home. Plus the dizzying amount of skills planned, the open game style, your ability to hopefully effect your environment, the HUGE map. Is it too outside your narrow view to consider a company would want to give its players as much as possible, or are you just so used to the standard crap that has become modern MMO's? ps. Look at the facts before you make such a belated overused claim such as:
"Darkfall is vaporware. The End." I could make an assumption that you probably didn't graduate high school and have a severe learning disability, yet i can't back it up with evidence so i wont assume as such.

Be it in health, security, or any other newly torn apart public sector. "The welfare state is not conducive enough for a rise in ecomomic figures, even if those figures only represent the 5% of the wealthy elite", oh well. Sure in China there is censorship, maybe because the influance of the morbidly greedy westerners is a scary thing to them. maybe democracy in all of its corporate glory isn't their idea of a free society. Plus is US media open? I have never seen such controlled news, and such blatant pushing or corporate and banking interest into the minds of any peoples, and i have been to china. Hmm what set that rant off? ill slap my own wrist and go have some coffee. |

After hearing on the vine a while back that Huxley had changed to a non-fps style of game play and rather something like Tabula Rasa, i instantly lost all interest. Now realizing it is a FPS and seeing the Unreal like fights in videos, set in a persistent world..... I realized what an idiot i have been. This game looks absolutely amazing, Abso-Frikin-Mazing. Screw all the cookie cut fantasy mmo's (except darkfall ofc), the action and pace of this seems wicked. Cant believe it doesn't have more attention. I just hope this is neocron on a speed and meth binge. I know its korean, and has the sort of style, i actually find it a bit refreshing since i dont play Kor-grindathons. Jeebus crisps..... Reckon it will be rockin?

First off, i absolutely love Stargate so i am not bashing it here. But i am already getting ready to be let down by another fantastic story going to pot in a wow-clone style of game. *kill xxx mobs for lv xxx, take x to y for exp for lv xxx, need lv xxx for gear with +xyz* Lets hope they go outside the box. Do not try and aim for the 12-16 demographic. make a story driven game that will appeal to fans of the series and not just try and make a quick buck off the name *Stargate*. Though i think im wasting my time hoping. |

I was given the impression while reading through the Darkfall forums that it would take a lot longer than a year to max skills. There will be a silly number of skills in the first place, with diminishing speed at which they increase as you gain more in your skills. There is a soft cap to the skills. so after you reach that cap the speed at which you gain skills will slow way down. Someone may max all their skills. but kudos the 3-4 (unfounded estimate) year vet who manages to grind all skills to max, if they do, they earned the right to use them Anyways, having more in a skill than someone may not necessarily save your ass. Got to be good with those skills you learned, know how to use the tactics your skills require, the ways to beat certain opponents. What I'm saying is that unless there is a massive skill point difference i think from what i have read, player skill will be still the most important factor. Hope so anyways! As for the perfect dps/heal/tank , there may be penalties for wearing armor while using magic (can't remember). But to have a decent player pretty soon you would have to pick a certain amount of skills to raise under the soft cap, so it would probably be a smart idea to specialize early on instead of trying to be mediocre in several areas. |
