Seriously change the name of the game.  For months and months we have heard nothing but how "hard" VSOH will be because of its leveling curve.  Yet here is another double exp weekend! 

For months and months we have heard nothing but how the "core gamer" wants "meaningfull travel".  I guess meaningfull travel equals instant ports?

Seemless world?  Chunk bugs galore makes EQ2 instancing look genius!

This game is the ultimate irony.  Free trial incoming.

I know Sigil has said many times that they won't be porting Vanguard to the console, but I really think they should revisit that. I know Xbox 360 is probably out of the question after Microsoft dropped Sigil faster than 30 a year old virgin drops 100 dollar bills in Tijauna, but the PS3 is still out there. The only reason I bring this up is I think the game could be fun sitting on my couch playing on a 42 inch widescreen. That and it seems like that a with a console MMO they only have to program for one system, and not have to worry about lots of different graphic cards, processors, RAM, etc.... Anyways...

Sigil choose not to have official forums to avoid dealing directly with all the negative press they knew they were going to get. They of course dont say this, instead they claim they want the affiliate sites to be the ones to be leading the community. This fails because the game has no central place to gather and you have to check several forums to get any decent information. Silky Venom is pretty good though. They have their shit in one sock and I hope they branch out to other games.

LOTRO is what it is.  A fun, polished game with exceptional graphics playable on many systems.  There is a lot to do using successful forumla's from past MMORPGs.  LOTRO promises little, but delivers a lot.  That being said, I haven't played in over two weeks.  The game might not be for me, or I may just be waiting to be able to play with friends.

Vanguard on the other hand is a nicely wrapped box of Godiva chocolates, with dog shit inside.   

500k?????  They should worry about keeping their current customers on board before there is even talk of increasing the player base 5-10X what it is right now. 

Man if EQ2 is dead, Vanguard must have never been born.

Wait a few weeks until they have a free trial, then you can decide for yourself!

I doubt they will ban anyone, they need the subscription money.  I can't wait for these guys to get to level 50 in a few weeks and bitch about the lack of raid content.

I find it ironic that this games downfall will be its community.  I beta tested this game for a long time,  and actually ran the game quite well with my "gaming" laptop.  Lag and performance was never much of an issue for me.  The gameplay itself was ok.  I was just not impressed and looking for the dev team to stick to their "vision".  It was my own fault for following the game to closely and going to both Fanguards (Vegas and San Diego).

I just believe that all the negative posters and the responding vanbois will ruin the game.  I personally have had strong views against the game mechanics since August , and was constantly told to go back to WoW.  That seems to be the only comeback from the supporters.  Funny thing is I don't like WoW too much.

I now think it is a good thing that Sigil is closing their official forums.  They would have turned out worse than WoW's. 

I made some negative posts and comments about the game but I will no longer continue to do so, as I actually respect Sigil and hope the game improves over the next few months.  If AoC, LOTRO, and Warhammer don't pan out, I may be back. 

I just hope the communtiy improves. 

LMAO.  I am pretty sure no store will be opening at midnight to release this game like they are for WoW.  In fact employees have pushed WoW when people asked about pre-ordering Vanguard.

To the OP, I agree 100%.  On the beta boards for months they have talked about a lack of a "hook."  Even the devs recognized it.

The cities and NPCs are lifeless, dead almost.  Just like the subscription numbers will be.
