Vin Diesel = eh? Brad Pitt = meh. Christopher Walken = YUM! I even watch BAD films if he's in them. |

I don't care for browser games myself, but I passed on that link to my nephew who quite enjoys them. Thanks for the link. |

You're right and I think because I'm somewhat used to people talking that way online that the impact isn't what it should be. I take very little of what I see on these boards seriously, but maybe we should be more serious about it. When I look at the ages of some of those who post on this board, I have to agree with you. This isn't the sort of thing we should encourage them think is okay. Abuse, in any form, is despicable and shouldn't be tolerated or trivialised. For whatever reason, I just didn't make a rape connection. |

I am hoping he was just using tough talk to make his point, Kimmar... I didn't think rape at all when I saw that comment. I shouldn't think anyone would advocate anything like rape or abuse as a feature for a game. I like the concept of a darker atmosphere... possibly Gothic... as a premise for an MMO, however. It's bad enough that having heard people make comments or even rp nasty things like rape in games, let alone have a company provide the mechanics to actually carry that sort of thing out... that's just daft and I hope that's not what the poster was inferring. As for Conan... I have been watching that game, Ashkent, and I'm looking forward to seeing what it's like. It looks good to me and it lives up to my expectations. |

I started out enjoying Morrowind, in spite of the plethora of bugs that came with it. But the damn thing wouldn't go away! I used every darn cheat, save game editor, trick I could find and I STILL couldn't finish that bloody game! It still makes my blood boil. Having said that... I'm quite looking forward to Oblivion. |

You are a very bad man and if you were in my general vacinity, I would run away! Fast! I play for fun, though, whether it's PvP or not. My humour is good enough to compensate for those who lack one at all, I think. Whether I'm being silly or sarcastic, the one thing I always am is happy while I play my games. If I'm feeling angry or depressed I log off and lock myself in the loo and cry til my husband rushes out and buys me something purdy. |

I kind of agree with you. I know an MMO with a darker, more dangerous setting would attract me. I'm not so crazy about your examples... I don't like beer and I don't do women... but that sort of game sounds like fun. It wouldn't matter so much what the environment was... Sci Fi, Fantasy, Medieval, Gothic... I'd give something like that a go. The way you make it sound, however, it would need to be for a Mature or Adult audience and I'm not sure how that sort of thing would be received or if it would be popular enough to support itself. |

Ok, I shouldn't have said 'name calling' maybe. It was more to do with the insulting tone of your post and no, it wasn't directed at me initially.
That's the bit I was talking about. I just don't see why you have to try and trivialise someone's opinion or make them seem foolish to get your point across. Anyway, it's not a big deal and I won't carry on. We can just disagree about the game and about whether or not I'm a whining carebear for simply not liking it. |

I also played Lineage and enjoyed it for about a year. I cancelled just after making level 50. Lineage was also a grind, but I didn't mind it so much. Maybe my guild and the friends I made helped with that.
As for the word "truth", I was giving my opinion. Why would you think I'd be lying about it? My truth is: I don't play games unless the journey to the end result is fun. Why would I? I found Lineage 2 to have SO much grind that it became tedious and not worth the trouble. I am not trying to foist my opinion on you, I'm just expressing myself. My experiences are not your experiences and we don't have to be enemies because we enjoy different things. You don't have to call names to get your message across. You should be nicer. |

Regardless of how mocking PsyX is, Lineage 2 is about the grindiest game I've ever played. Yes, you get all the cool PvP perks, but getting to the point of being able to siege has got to be one of the more tedious grinds I've ever encountered. Having said that... it only proves that different people enjoy different things... and that's fair enough. I didn't like a number of games but why would I insult people because they did? What a boring world it would become if we all enjoyed exactly the same things. Anyway, I wouldn't have even bothered commenting if PsyX hadn't been so nasty in choosing his words. |

hehe... that's Brad McQuaid, not McQuid. McQuid sounds like it would translet into "Son of Money". A bit of Fraudian Slippage there. |

I'm sort of disappointed in Codemasters. Ages ago, I was quite looking forward to Dragon Empires, which they shut down. Now they come out with this sort of crapola. I've played a few Korean games, Lineage (for about a year back in the olden days), Lineage II (beta only), Helbreath (beta) and tried some other and I'm not a fan at all. Especially of the communities. This game doesn't LOOK awful... but I'm not big on the gameplay style. I wish they'd decided to go through with Dragon Empires instead. |

Thanks for the info, Nullapax. Sometimes I just can't figure out what the DnL team is trying to tell me! I hope they know what they're doing, too. It would be a shame for it to go horribly wrong after they've been working on it for so long. |

Don't be mean, Ashkent. He's only 14. It's very likely he's never seen a girl up close yet. How long can he have even been playing games, anyway. Give the wee lad a break. |

Personally, I can admire someone who sticks to their guns. If you set yourself a limit of $50 for games, and stick to it, that's a good thing. Like En1Gma said, the price will ALWAYS come down eventually and if he can wait, stand by his convictions, and buy the game when it meets his criteria... he is someone to be respected for that, not mocked. Looking over the list of things you get when you pre-order DnL actually concerns me a bit. Did I read it correctly that if you are one of 8,881 people to pre-order you get to keep everything your SoG character has accumulated? It seems they give you things that will keep you ahead of everyone else forever, not including free mounts and a teleportation system. I'm not sure having over 8k people being elite is going to make the game very palatable for anyone who isn't one of those 8k or so. DnL might end up having ONLY 8,881 people playing if they give too much to the pre-order people! I think I can't really put the game down too much as I've not even played the prelude yet. Who knows? I might get addicted and HAVE to have it. I'm not as disciplined as En1gma and sometimes make rather impulsive buys... usually I regret it afterwards, too. I love what I hear about the game, but playing is the only certain way to gauge it. Hearing from people who have played and who have my respect about games will definitely be a huge help, too. |
