I understand this. However even after this the heatsink doesnt feel secure regardless of whether or not you can see or hear the pins pop through. Its a poor design compared to heatsinks that actually screw into a motherboard or physically clip down onto it. |

You guys act like players are suppose to sit toe-to-toe and face-to-face doing battle with each other. For the life of me, I dont remember any PvP game behaving like this with the exception of UO. Pretty easy to understand why UO didnt have circle-strafe or bunny hopping. ya you'll encounter circle-strafers. I havnt seen too much bunny hopping. I dont think its as effective as trying to get to your targets back. Also, if you're a runner you're going to encounter tanks nailing you in the back with thrown weapons and doing insane damage to you if you're injured. (its a bonus, I think most if not all tanks get this). Might explain what the person above me experienced |

I'll be selling the extra one I purchased on E-bay. Not sure why anyone interested in this game passed up the opportunity to pre-order the CE. Really boggles me. I purchased 2 and plan on making quite a bit off the spare |

I just bought one of those motherboards with an e8400. Awesome board , you'll be happy with it. you'll also be happy you purchased an aftermarket cooling solution. the stock cooler sucks balls. not so much the cooler, but the installation. Theres no real way to know for sure the damn thing is secure or not. you end up putting so much pressure on it to push the pins in youd swear you were gonna break the motherboard. |

Just thought I would clear up my own confusion here. I just transfered 2 of my characters to another realm. I went to the realm that I wanted to transfer TO and created two characters with the same name that I was transfering as place holders. When the transfer was complete, the characters were on the server but when i went to log in I was prompted to change my name. I then deleted the place holder characters and changed the names on my newly transfered characters. Actually, one of the characters I gave a completely new name so doing it like that can be used to change the characters name AND move to another realm |

How did you expect people to take you after saying something like that? If thats NOT what you meant to say, then steer a bit further from the edge of drama queen then maybe you'll get some better feedback |

Is it possible to hold the name of the toon your transfering on the server your transfering to? Then when the transfer is finalized, delete the place holder toon and rename the toon that has been transfered? (did that make sense?) |

Ya thats pretty much spot on. Not sure where Gurtelrose came up with those comparisons |

just FYI, thats not what itemization means. An example of poor itemization would be, for example, cloth items constantly dropping that give bonuses to Strength and heavy armor pieces giving bonuses to mana. Basically items that are restricted to certain classes yet give bonuses to the classes theyre restricted from. OR items that can be used but give bonuses to classes that would never use such items. Since quest rewards, RvR rewards generate specifically for the class you're playing, WAR has excellent itemization. I do see your point and I agree with you. I suggest anyone who feels this way to use the "feedback" button in-game and tell them that you dont feel theres enough variety in the way gear looks. Ive sent feedback on this numerous times that there just isnt enough variety in the way gear looks. That combined with the lack of crafting spheres is its achiles heal for me. |

I think we're all taking that in consideration. Ya healers need to build up pools or waaagh to be more effective. I think what the OP is talking about is just healers flat out not healing.. period. Personally I dont expect them to unless Im grouped with them. I dont expect joe shmo healer to be running around healing people outside of his group or focusing on everyone in RvR whos taking damage. However, if im grouped with a healer or two Id expect to see at least one or two heals go off in my direction :P I will say there are several healer careers that shouldnt be looked upon as a main healer or heal bot. Warrior Priests and Disciples of Kain are two prime examples.

oh..and to the others that said the Tome of Knowledge is like what EQ and Lord of the Rings had, its not. EQ2 and Lotro had journals. Its a bit more similiar to Lord of the Rings, but the ToK in WAR has a hell of a lot more content and lore that is learned throughout playing the game. |

actually ya that carries through the entire game. Theres no 1-shotting in the game or insane crowd control classes. Battles do take some time 1v1. Groups it can be totally different depending on the combination though. The other thing to note is you wont have that high level jackass running around killing people 20 levels lower than him either. Its pretty much lowbie gank free. Not to say you wont have groups of flagged people trying to catch people accidentally flagged outside of rvr areas, but that shouldnt be so wide spread (and easily remedied) |

In most games, PvP is split by server. Concensus is that PvP servers are breeding grounds for intolerable personalities. Acryonyms like FFA do not mean "Free For All" to non-PvP'rs, it means "Fun For As$holes". Most people who "dont get it" avoid PvP servers for this exact reason. They miss out on the drama between clans/guilds and the thrill of PvP. Other games, PvP is limited to duels or battle grounds and/or other consentual types of PvP. This is another way for people to avoid PvP by not accepting duels or not entering battle grounds. What WAR has done is made open RvR areas intermingled with standard PvE areas. You can easily enter a RvR area by accident because a quest you accepted lead you there (granted, you're warned about entering an RvR area). I think the way PvP works in WAR may lead people who reject or refuse PvP to take part in PvP. Especially considering how easy it is to pick up a random group that may lead you into PvP unannounced. The way WAR's PvP is, IMO it is very mild. Its also a hell of a lot of fun. I think your standard PvE'r will wander into Warhammers PvP and be extremely surprised how easy and fun it actually is. Not taking part in PvP in WAR pretty much means not taking part in the largest aspect of the game. Hopefully, exposing more carebears to PvP may open the door for future MMO's to focus more on this aspect and less on pez dispenser quests and running erands to pass the time.
Curious what other people felt about this. |
