My wife plays a Hunter, and I play a Minstrel.  We can complete most quests together, and it is very easy for us to find others to join us in need be.  Also though it helps we are in a huge Kin, and are always asked to join with them in the larger Raids and such  :)

I voted for MM because, thus far, my fav place in the game was Goblin Town!!

I had 2 gig of ram in Xp and hitched.  Turned out to be my 7200 RPM HD.  I got a 10K RPM HD and the hitching disappeared.  I run on high (Except in Moors I run on medium.)  Also, I do hitch in Bree, but who doesn't see a slow down there.

Also, in Moria they addressed file fragmenting and the such.  You should see less of a problem there, however they did state they did not go back to SoA and mess with anything.  You may / will still see hitching there unless you upgrade your hardware.

My wife and I did the lifetime sub thing a while back and it's nice not having to worry about paying any kind of montly sub, nor having to worry about every paying for it again!  The only things you have to pay for are the expansions, if you want them.

The population has been steady and healthy on my server, so I don't see this dying anytime soon.

As a matter of fact, I was just talking to someone in the Moors this past weekend (that's the PvMP zone) and we were talking about how every time we are in there, we get the little box popping up saying the server is under load.  There is easily 30+ Freeps and 30+ Creeps in there for PvMP nightly at prime time.  Heck, we had a few raids going this past weekend... so it's more like 50 vs 50.  And that's just the one zone!

Then you will be happy to hear that Stars will no longer show after MoM and Hunters will not be able to DF in combat while in the moors!

That is the first I've heard of stars disappering, but I really hope it's true!

You'll be fine as long as you can accept the fact that you will die, and probably a lot at first.

Yes, both sides can stun you and basically kill you quickly if they all pile up on you - it's called strategy.  And you being green - litterally, freeps can see your rank, you will be a quick target to kill at first.

You'll notice the same strategy as a creep too - you'll look for the greens or the minstrels and try to drop them quickly.  Chances are, you have wargs stealth, pounce, stun, then proceed to have all the creeps go in for the kill.

IMHO it's all pretty balanced and fun.  You'll probably see a lot of complaining, and both sides does it.  I don't think anyone is overbalanced and even the higher ranked lvl 9s and 10s drop from time to time, so it's not like just because you're starting out you'll always be singled out.  Just find a good group, raid, raid leader (which you'll come to know the more you play) and you'll be fine!

Also, Meneldor is the unofficial PvMP server.  It's what I play on, and it's usually always busy!

I would think since it is the close of Volume 1 that it would come out before MoM, which is the beginning of Volume 2, correct?

yes, along with the snow, I've seen rain and lighting.  I've heard the thunder too, but you have to have one of the sounds up to hear it (sorry I forget which one).

Everytime I see MoM I think of the game Minions of Mirth.  It was a little Indy MMO that I played a few years back.  It was a lot like EQ.  Oh the memories  :)

It is really?  I've heard it just adds depth to the shadows and that it's not all that big a deal.

Now I haven't seen any side by side, nor do I have Vista for the DX10, but I do love the game and it looks so nice in DX9, I can't believe it could be that much more in DX10 - makes me want to buy Vista  :)

Agreed. 

I can't comment much on the EU servers, but from what I hear most of the US servers are pretty busy.  They all have their peak times, but the server I'm on, Meneldor, seems to have a healthy pop on most every time I log in.

I thought the lifetime sub was great.  For $199 - I can play the game with any free updates until the servers shut down.  Not too shabby  :)

And before Moria there is to be Book 14, correct?

AoC doesn't at all excite me. 

When I first heard of the game, I thought it would be the next big thing.  But from story board to retail shelves, I wasn't impressed and I think a lot of people are going to find it's not what they thought it was or hoped it was.

As for me, I just life time subbed to LotRO.  They keep adding more with great books, and I'm really excited about MoM.  Turbine has impressed me!

That would be true.  I was on either Fri or Sat night (EST) when I got a message saying Orcs were attacking Thestlebridge.  I made my way over there, along with about 30-40 others, and we fought about4 or 5 waves of 20 or so Orcs. 

Being I'm lvl 46, they were all grey to me, but it was a neat idea that brought a bunch of people together!

In the free expansions, we've gotten 2 major regions added, a good splattering of minor landscape additions, every class has seen a major upgrade, particularly high level skills, and a whole host of mechanics tweaks. Really, I think Turbine has done an excellent job with updating content with this game, and look forward to seeing this continue. Free updates have followed a 2 - 3 month time frame, and we'll see our expansion a year and a half after release. I'm quite happy to be playing this game.
